Im not gonna lie -- nail / beauty salons are kind of a dime a dozen on Polk Street (God bless the proximity to Chinatown), but Im happy to have found a regular place in City Beauty Salon. Ive only come here for the manicure/pedicures and gel manicure, so I cant speak much to the other stuff they do, but I have been pleased with these offerings. They have a wide variety of colors (mostly OPI & Essie but some other brands too), always offer a beverage, and always have some awesome guilty pleasure reality tv trash airing. Not that they rush, but the service is fast; some people view this as a downside, but personally Id rather get out and on with my life than be stuck at the nail place for like 2 hours. Very clean too. Prices are reasonable -- manicure is like $9, manicure / pedicure (I refuse to use the nickname) is like $20 or $25, and gel manicure is $25. Yall, the gel manicure (not exclusive to CBS although Ive been very satisfied when Ive done it there) has changed my life. It lasts forever. You will not regret. Again, none nail places on Polk that Ive tried have really disappointed me, but I keep coming back to City Beauty Salon because of the people (friendly), prices (reasonable) & place (more spacious = doesnt seem like a glorified hallway). Plus there is usually no wait. Never felt the need to make a reservation but the only time Ive had to wait was at like 4PM on New Years Eve (go figure).

You can take your pick from many nail salons in the area, but this one is gets my vote. Kim and Judy are my favorites, but the other woman are pretty great too. Their attention to detail is unmatched and theyre charming and honest. If you arent sure about your color choice, they will help you out. The prices are incredibly reasonable too. Dont forget to say hi to Cooper, hes Kims perfectly adorable and well behaved dog. Check it out!

I have searched the City for a great pedicure and finally found Kim! Hands down, the best pedicure in the SF. Shes always super friendly, always smiling, and does the best job on the rough heel callus. I find it best to either call ahead or come in later in the day, closer to close.

Got a walk in mani-pedi. Service was impeccable. Tools were clean and the place clearly had many regulars. The staff were fantastically kind and considerate! Recommend to everyone. A+

These girls are the best. Im always impressed by what they can do with my horrid feet. Ingrown nails, rough feet, no problem. If youre a guy who likes tidy nails go here.
