Updated Review: I decided to remove my review because even though we had to go back 3 times to fix the car, the last time the owner Thai really tried to do his best, and the car was fixed. I think the issue was that one of his mechanics did not do his job, and the one who ended up getting blamed was the owner. I think after this incident, the quality control has probably improved, and if they did thats great because they know how to do the job, but quality control when returning the cars is something they should keep improving. Thanks Thai. Part of old Review: What is the point of having "friendly" service from owner if there is high lack of quality control! Expect to pay more for every visit as their quality control is the worst we have ever seen, and expect to be returning more than once to for things that they should have find out on the first visit!

I went in for some brake work. Previously I used the same mechanic for 20 years, but he has moved out of the area. I was a little nervous about trying a new mechanic and shop. However, the technician at the shop discovered a bad wheel bearing during the free brake check. I got new pads, rotors, a wheel bearing replaced and had my starter replaced. The price for the pads and rotors and labor was a couple hundred dollars less than the average price on the internet. They were upfront during the whole process and did not charge me for the labor on the wheel bearing and hub replacement since they were already doing work on the brakes. I would totally recommend this shop. Great guys and great work for a very reasonable price.

Always the best! Thai is the best in the South Bay, no question! Not only are his prices great, and you know you arent being taken for a ride; but the quality of work is top notch! My last experience there was last week. GF brought her Toyota in for a belt replacement, and the quote was reasonable, so we authorized it. Went back in to pick the truck, and he had included the water pump replacement cost into the estimate (read $300+) and we couldnt be happier. They not only get the job done right the first time, but the rates wont leave you wondering. Ive been going here for about six years, and couldnt be happier with both the quality of work, and the service! Thank you Thai!

Thai, the owner has excellent work ethic and is very pleasant to work with. He lists all the issues with the vehicle and is very honest about the urgency in attending to them. He would even recommend not performing some repairs saying "it can wait till the next service" or "not needed for the next 10,000 miles". He even goes the extra length by offering his own vehicle in case of delays caused by a part getting delayed. His rates are reasonable and it is easy to schedule an appointment. He even answers his cell phone when called outside of the hours to let you know you as a customer come first. I would heartily recommend Almaden Auto Repair for your vehicle needs.

Whether you drive an import or domestic car, you should take your vehicle here for service. The owner, Thai, has been working on cars for 20+ years. He is certified, totally genuine and fastidious. He offers quality service, guarantees and all, at affordable prices. Dont waste your money at the dealerships or shops where they often overcharge and add on "repairs." When I found them, I needed a motor in my side-view mirror replaced. The dealership charged me $750. Thai and his crew did it for $250. I always feel like I can trust Almaden Auto Repair. You may have a little bit of a wait because its a smaller business but the service is definitely worth it.

I want to begin with stating that I nearly NEVER write reviews for businesses, I just always forget, but I was very pleased with the service here and felt good about doing business with Thai, that I had to do my part to contribute to the positive feedback. when working with mechanics, you never know whats "really" wrong with the car or how much it should cost, but after comparing prices and opinions of others, I knew that Almaden Auto Repair had great prices and proved great service without trying to haggle me or get me to do more than is necessary. This is why it is now my mechanic repair shop of choice.

Awesome & quick, reliable service. Very friendly and professional. Great comfortable chairs and a careful handle service. Worth my money and a lot cheaper than any other place. The cheapest place besides here is Sears and the one by Eastridge, very rude and bitches about helping customers who do not respect their wanting to stop taking customers at 3:00. And Almaden Auto actually called my number when I called and hung up before speaking to them. Check it out, and youll see what Im talking about Im sure. $6 more dollars and you can guarantee you can receive good service.

They have made me a customer for life. Just left the repair shop in disbelief. They spend an entire day figuring out what was wrong with my car and in the end not charge me a dime. Not only did they not charge me for a diagnostics fee, they also advised me what was wrong so that I can get it repaired with the manufacture under their powertrain warranty. If you ever need honest people to look at your car and not get ripped off, this is the place you should be going to.

Read a lot of positive reviews on Almaden Auto Repair before making my appointment with them. I was NOT disappointment with their customer service and the diagnostic performed in finding my problem. The invoicing was detailed with the found code requiring repair in my case it was P0057 which was the B2S2 oxygen sensor needing replacement. My repairs were explained to me in detail which gave me an understanding of what was done. Highly recommend Almaden Auto Service!!

Im a small town girl and I was worried about finding a trustworthy place in a big city. I called Almaden auto repair and was told to come in the same day. They did an inspection on a car I was looking to buy and were straight forward with me and seemed honest. I was in and out within 1:15hrs. I also made a stupid mistake by driving the car in 3d instead of d and they refrained from laughing in my face. What more could you ask for? I will be back!

Truly a awesome car repair shop. Team members are extremely nice and do a great job. Even show pictures so you can see what needs to be repaired. Iv been here now 3 times for different reasons (oil change, service maintainaince and general repair) and every time was pleasant.
