I recently had some water damage to my apartment caused by an upstairs neighbor. My HOA uses AquaTek. They were called out twice. First, they were called out in response to a leak in the underground garage below my unit, which, after failing to gain entry to my apartment, was ascribed to an overflowing kitchen sink in my unit. The HOA then sent me a bill for $324 based solely on their plumbers guess. If hed gone upstairs to check with the upstairs neighbor and actually investigated the issue he was paid $300 to look into, the problem might have been discovered. The HOA called them out again the following day when I discovered my apartment was soaking wet and so was the hallway. This time, I reported the leak was coming from above my unit and I was home. Nonetheless, their great investigation skills led them to believe my unit was leaking until I spoke with the plumber directly and he decided maybe the second floor might not be a bad place to go. Even then, though, he didnt seem to do any further investigation. He went upstairs. He came back downstairs and misreported what had happened. I later got the correct report from my upstairs neighbor. In any case, stay far, far away from these guys. Laziness, incompetence, and baseless guesses seems to be their MO.

I believe this company, Aquatek Plumbing San Jose, CA, overcharges significantly for an average job they do, to the point that I consider them not being ethical. In my case, my contact was very arrogant, difficult to work with, answered e-mail fine, but not the phone messages. I chose Aquatek Plumbing only because the HOA had them do the video scanning of the sewer line starting on my property and continuing through common area (I had paid half of the video cost). The job I gave Aquatek Plumbing was to repair three feet sewer line, on my property in San Jose, CA, which was damaged by tree roots. In my opinion, after they do the video, they overcharge significantly to do the repair job, because, they know if you go to another company the new company may have to do the video scanning again and charge you for it. As a multiple property owner for the past 48 years, I have worked with many service organizations and I have found this company to be unethical, significantly overcharge and be very difficult to work with. I would not recommend them to anyone, including HOAs.

As mentioned in another 1 star review, completely unprofessional guy came pushed button on water heater and stated that all is repaired. But heater is not working, no hot water. Tried to contact phone receptionist and were rudely sent away. I strongly recommend do not use this company, for sake of your time and money.

Worst experience EVER!! See those horrible reviews on Yelp and you will know why. Spent $128 and got nothing done because the plumber didnt have the parts that need to be placed. Sales rep was unprofessional and unhelpful. Dont go for this company because they are gonna let you pay without getting the work done.
