Great park. Excellent design, a lot of places and attractions, and a pretty good staff. The place is very lively for a cemetery, and features many different gardens, buildings, and well kept roads. I went here on Memorial Day 2011, which was May 30th, 2011, and viewed their annual ceremony for the fallen. It was a great speech and parade, since it can clearly teach you the history of both the park, and the wars of history. I also went here for Memorial Day 2012, which was a couple weeks ago, on May 28th, 2012. The speech was yet again great, and hundreds of people accommodated by being at the service. On that day, I got to visit my great grandfathers plot at the park, and he even fought in World War 2. My aunt who works here introduced me to this park last year in 6th grade. I was falling ill with food poisoning a week before 6th grade ended, and I was pretty much bedridden for the time. When Memorial Day came, though, my aunt called my family and asked if we could come to the park for a Memorial Day ceremony. I was feeling very sickly, but I decided I could do it. It was my first time going here in 2011 when this happened, and I was deciding if it was really worth it. When my parents, siblings, and I got there, it was amazing, though. We were a little late, but it was still cool. All the excitement, scenery, and atmosphere literally took away the sickness temporarily. I began realizing that I was dizzy from the sickness, but I knew I could battle it. We visited the mausoleum, and we rode the golf carts too.Its amazing how big this park is. Both times we visited, on 2011 and 2012, we still couldnt explore the whole park, and we were there for about two to three hours each time! This place is very fun to explore, because we even went here yesterday, and checked out the upper section of the park, and we drove around the park in our car, with windows open, just to get a great feel. The many roads, turns, and areas of this park just make it fun to cruise around in, especially driving or biking. This is a must see place!

If you are dead or going to die, this is a pretty nice place to end up. This is one historic cemetery from 1947 and walking around and reading the headstones is like reading history. There are some of the earliest Anglo settlers buried here, and you will recognize a number of their last names. There are people from all over the world too. Some of the cemetery is sectioned off for Asians and Jews, if they choose to be buried there, but it seems that there are different ethnicities buried all over. There is a section for veterans and this is an old, very old part with similar headstones. This is a good sized cemetery with some nice overlooks of the city and valley, since part of it is on the North side of Communications hill. There are a few funeral home buildings for families and friends to gather, and there is a mausoleum on top of the hill with a panoramic view. The high end crypts are also located up there next to the mausoleum, and they have an artificial creek with nice sounding running water. There is space available here, see the sign, and it is probably the biggest cemetery in San Jose. Its nice and historic, check it out.

Buried mom there in 72, got a double plot by the fountain. I was 18, it was my first large purchase, $950.00. Been going there monthly and more since then. Thats over 43 years Im thru that gate. Sometimes I just go in the office across from the Chapel and pray, sometimes cry, and I am never bothered , just sit and look at the Water Wall. The staff counter people are so great, you get an occasional grumpy contract person, but thats ok. The security people are really on the ball, keeping it safe, orderly, and professional. A class act, really. Thank you guys. But where it shines is the manager. Institutions rise or fall on leadership, and Ron is fabulous . It is a wonderful place, it helps me keep my balance. This Funeral Home was so compassionate and very helpful during our time of loss. Hats off to a caring staff and excellent service to a grieving family. Other memorial parks have strict visiting and flower rules, but Oak Hill is number 1 in their park services and landscape. After 3 years of our loss, this Home still helps, understand and give great customer service. Thank you Oak Hill! JL

Found a great spot for my brothers final resting place under a large tree and in view of my grandfathers own final resting place. Helpful and kind employees, and very respectful.

Both my grandma and great grandma were interred in one of the columbaria at the top of one of the hills. Had a peaceful and tranquil view of the entire park.
