Two words: STAY AWAY. If I could give NEGATIVE stars I would. I recently moved to San Leandro, from San Francisco and needed a place to take my uniform to be cleaned. Fairmont cleaners is conveniently located near my house so I decided to give it a try. I dropped it off on Saturday at 9:20 A.M to a gentleman who Im assuming is the owner/manager. He happily took it and said that it would be ready by 2:30 P.M. I returned around 5 P.M. where I made my first mistake by not checking the items first before taking them. Come Monday when Im getting ready for work, I take my dress shirt and suit out of the plastic cover and notice a smell around the armpits of both my suit and my shirt. In addition I did not feel the starchy feeling in my shirt or the light chemical smell from either items. Thats when I realized that the gentleman had simply pressed my clothes without bothering to properly clean them. I went back to the cleaners later that day, extremely perturbed with suit in hand. I explained to the gentleman that the suit was not cleaned and that you can clearly smell the deodorant around the armpit area. I told him I would never do business there again and demanded a refund. He responded by pointing to the sign that said they are not responsible for articles once it leaves the store. Infuriated I told him that he cheated me by making the clothes appear as if they were clean by simply pressing it. The gentleman pretended as if he didnt know what kind of smell it was, however I find that unbelievable for someone who works around soiled clothing. He even said that he did me a "special" favor for "cleaning" my clothes on a Saturday because he had no other employees to help him. The gentleman refused my demand for a discount for a second time and with that I was done with the situation and took the $15.55 loss. I called him a cheat which he responded with "DONT SAY THAT". This place is a sham and the owner is a cheat. They will charge you for services that they claim to do, but only appear to do. I will take my suits back to my cleaner in San Francisco where I KNOW they will be cleaned.

THIS PLACE IS AWFUL! I rate this place negative 1,000. The owners are very nice when receiving your garments, but when you tell them what they did wrong, they deny it with a sassy attitude. My mother took a pretty expensive scarf to get dry cleaned there. The scarf had a label that read 100% PASHMINA. That label is what would originally give the scarf its value. My mom made the mistake of not clearly checking to see if all her clothes where properly taken care of. However, when she got home she noticed that the label was missing. As frustrating as it sounds, they do not open on Sundays so my mom had to wait until Monday to go into the store to tell them about what had happened. Well the lady simply ignored her, and told her that it was not her problem, that she had alot of work to do. If you ask me, these people are thiefs. They simply removed the label so that they can sew it onto another item and claim it to be 100% pashmina. Once again, DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to get your labels stolen.
