What a terrible experience - these guys called the cops when I complained about a stained shirt. I have been coming to Vapor cleaners for about a year. Every other time I have dealt with them was a good experience and have always been prompt and nice. Today was unlike any other experience I have had in any business. Two weeks ago I dropped off two shirts with Vapors. One of the shirts came back with brown streak lines on the collar. I was told that it was my fault because this is a cologne stain. I do not wear cologne, so I insisted that they try again. Today I stopped by to pick up the shirt and drop off some fluff and fold. The stain was still there and the girl behind the counter called her manager to see what they can do. The girl behind the counter lies every few minutes, from what I noticed, to myself and other customers. She is rude and will interrupt you if she gets upset. I suspect that she is probably somewhere on the spectrum, since she started bawling at a moments notice (more about that later) I certainly do not want to upset the mentally disparaged, but he attitude and actions cannot be attributed to a level headed individual. While speaking on the phone with her manager, she continued to be condescending and kept rolling her eyes and saying there is nothing they can do. At this point I requested my fluff and fold back, so I could take it to another dry cleaner and was almost out of the door. As I approached the exist the girl said the following: "We can refuse service to anyone, so if you come back here ever I will call the cops, so get your b@#$ch a$$ out of here before I call them right now" Mind you, I did not swear, yell, throw things or even raised my voice. The shirt was expensive, but I do not get into the habit of freaking out because of stuff. At this juncture I had to wait for the police to arrive to clear up the incident and waster more time. I would have been happy to leave if this girl didnt start freaking out. I hate dealing with people who have emotional problems, especially on a professional level. If they just ruined a $200 shirt I would probably just complain or leave a bad review. I would think about filing in small claims court. However, after the experience with the police and the attitude of the personnel, I think I am going to go ahead to the big boys court. So lets sum up. Because of a $200 shirt they lost my business, my parents, my grandparents, my uncle, my business itself and everyone who will listen. Santa Cruz is a small city and I will make sure that everyone knows what happened at this location. I am positive that I can make a ding in their profit due to the utter incompetence of the staff and management. If you like your clothes stay away!

Quite an amazing operation. I had the chance to walk through their facility, see their equipment and technology, meet their staff, and hear about all the care and details that go into each service they offer. Loved the environmental responsibility that seems above and beyond - definitely the right Santa Cruz vibe. I couldnt believe the millions of dollars in equipment, the pride the owner has for her service, and what goes on to clean so many different kinds of clothes well.

I rated their service by the job its self and my thought was that the two spots that needed to be cleaned off my shirt. I had pointed out the spots while dropping it off, she said that the spots will come out. I was very disappointed when getting my shirt back, both spots were still there. I went to another cleaners down the street and they had no problem getting both spots out. I will not be taking anything to be cleaned to Vapor Cleaners in the future.
