I read the bad reviews and rented anyways because it is a storage unit, and I was going to pack it up, pay them and come back three months later (I went home for summer from Cal Poly). I sent in the second months rent a day late and they piled on late fees and demanded that I pay them IN CASH within 48hrs. or they were going to seize my unit. I was in eastern Washington! Had to get a friend to run over and slip cash under there door as they asked. So I didnt miss the next payment. However, when I arrived back in SLO and went to unload my unit, my bike guitar and several other small items were mysteriously missing from the back of the unit. Nothing else was even moved, and there were two other less valuable bikes in front of the missing items that were EXACTLY as I had intricately placed them 3 months prior. The lock was not cut and it was a sturdy storage unit lock. After asking around, the 2 other people unloading there units also had various items missing but their locks were different brands, were not cut, and nothing was out of place except the missing items from the back of the unit. The managers were of no help and simply reiterated that they are not liable for theft. I cant help but think it was some kind of inside job. I am spending the time writing this review so that I can hopefully spare you the stress and money I have lost. Its not worth renting here. Just find another storage company. Drive to Atascadero or Pismo if you have to.

Ive dealt with the people who run this facility for many years and used to recommend them many time a week to my customers. I went in one day to rent a UHAUL for a customer and as soon as I opened my mouth, the lady who runs the place told me ( very loudly in front of another customer) that she didnt want my business, or me in there, any more. It seems that she became friends with a competitor of mine and decided to do business with him. She was very rude to me in front of her customers. Ive seen her be the same way to many customers over the years. Even after the rats in their units destroyed the furniture of my customers. Never wanting to apologize or make things right with the people who lost their belongings to Rat Damage. Alamo storage has the same problems.

Ive never used the UHaul services provided by this company but I did use the storage. In the time that I had my items stored at this factuality I had my lock damaged (something crammed into it) as well as had the owners scream at myself and my husband. At one point of going in the owners son attempted to fight with my husband because we where not aware that they where closed (no signs posted, we where there during regular business hours). The last time I visited my unit I needed to speak with the owners and we had to wait for half an hour for them to show up because they ran to the bank without placing a notice on the door (this occurred during normal business hours as well). Very bad customer service from this organization.

Shady business practices. I am a graduate from Cal Poly and have been renting from the different U-Haul dealers at least once a year for the past 5 years, and this one is by far the worst one (although the Prado Road Service is also sketchy). I made a reservation for a 24-hour rental 3 weeks in advance, and I got a call 2 days before I move telling me they are cutting my 24-hour reservation in half (essentially to make twice the money on the same truck), which made it impossible for me to move in to my new place unless I unloaded everything onto the middle of the street and sat for half a day. I highly recommend going somewhere else, dont let these guys screw you too (other U-Haul dealers, Penske dealers).

Nothing bad, nothing great. No theft issues, they have plenty of cameras, and you can use your own lock. The hours are pretty decent. Considering it seems to be a staff of two, they keep it running pretty well. They arent going to go at all out of their way to help you. They honestly came off as not seeming to care about you, cause they know if you dont pay for their services there will be a dozen other people willing to take yoyr place. That said they seemed friendly enough, they just didnt go out of their way. Getting a unit was simple, the units seem secure. I cant say nothing bad has ever happened there, but the reviews saying this place is atrocious arent reliable.

Very condescending staff. One staff member who I assume is the owner or managers son actually yelled at me in front of other customers when I asked about why the gates are locked 15 minutes before the posted time. Much nicer, cleaner alternatives are available around town.

Well as far as I can say I love it here great costumer service and if you complain about it, its a storage place just pick what you need and store it. And money wise drop it off in the box after hours. I have no negative nor bad things about this place.

No credit cards, no auto-pay. I understand theyre saving themselves some fees, but you might as well pass the fees on to us so we can choose convenience. Also, a lot of the units require some walking to get to. Next time Ill use Darrels again.

The woman co-owner (older with wavy hair & glasses) is extremely rude. No social interaction, always barking orders at her employees, & its either: "pay your bill or do you want the unit?" type of attitude.

Lots of clean small (and larger) units available for reservation. We are using them again this year to store college gear over the summer. U-haul on site even rents to under 24 year olds...

Owners are very rude. Itd best to find a storage unit else where unless you like to be screamed at by white trash.
