The other night I was basically called gay by the Sales Manager Aaron Wilson and was escorted by him into the club managers office against my will because I did not let my friend purchase their product, and then my friend was coerced into buying the product anyways. This was one of the most humiliating experiences of my life. Me and my friends (colleagues as well) went to the gym after work. 3 of us had valid membership and 1 had basic membership. The one who didnt said he wanted to possibly upgrade. After a while of dealing with the sales associate he signaled he did not want to do it so I walked over to help him. Turns out they were going to charge him about 50% higher than the rest of us were paying. I explained again why he would not do it and that he wanted to go home and look for online deals (which really WERE a lot better!) and the gentleman began attacking me and called out Aaron Wilson. Aaron was sarcastic and attacked me the moment he looked at me. He called me smart (sarcastically) and said all I wanted was for him not to get commission. This was before I spoke a single word to Mr. Wilson. I tried to cool things down and told him I appreciated his aggressive sales effort, and that I think he was a good salesman but that my friend could not afford to make this rash decision and we were going to leave. Suddenly he started to get upset and stated I was just rude to him and condescending since I called him a good salesman yet my friend did not buy his product. He continued by talking to me like a child and demanding I give him my membership info so he could investigate my account, even though I had already been granted entrance to the gym. I told him i was a customer and did not deserve that treatment but he stated I was in his gym and had to provide my information at any time. I obliged and he did not find anything "on me" but still stated he would investigate me further later. I was getting the impression he was hoping I was not a legitimate member? Later, my friend, who is white, mentioned that he sensed some bias because Mr. Wilson, who is also white, was rude before I even opened my mouth. (Im South Asian.) The location is in San Mateo and this is the 2nd 24 Hr in San Mateo the "super" gym location that caters to higher paying members. I would hope my hunch is not accurate but we certainly felt these biased vibes. I informed Mr. Wilson I would be emailing his corporate office about his behavior. Mr. Wilson said I now had to walk with him and go into his mgrs office. I told him I did not want to and that I would contact 24 HR on my own time, and he threatened me again by stating in his gym I had to oblige when I was asked to speak with the mgr. Even though he is Aarons boss it appeared the club mgr Butch Cooper was just taking orders from Aaron. Mr. Wilsons intro of me was "this gentleman has threatened to try to get me fired and is being rude to me, please deal with him" and then he left and closed the door. I tried to speak up but Mr. Cooper cut me off and asked me to provide my membership card so he could "research" my account. A few minutes later, after realizing there is nothing wrong with me, Mr. Cooper asked me to explain what happened (twice) to buy time. When I told him I would be emailing 24 HR, Mr. Cooper got upset and said there was no point and that I should just email him directly as all email goes back to him. He gave me his card and finally I was free. Apparently while this was going on,Mr. Wilson went back to my friend to try to up-sell him. When he could not accomplish his goal, he attacked us by saying we were acting like we were "life partners", meant in a derogatory manner to suggest we were gay. Finally my friend was given a free day pass so he joined us to play in a pickup bball game. After our turn came and we started, Aaron came in, pulled him out of the game and said he had to ugprade or leave. My friend was intentionally coerced into upgrading as he we carpooled and he did not want to interrupt our game. Beware this gym and company!

I have been a 24 Hour Fitness member for 21 years, and Ive worked out at many of their different clubs. This particular Super Sport is a good one, not perfect, but good. However, this review is for one of their BodyPump instructors: Michelle Matosian. I have been doing BodyPump for many years, too, and Michelle is one of the best instructors I have had the pleasure kick my butt (in a good way). I drive up from Menlo Park to take her class a couple days per week. A good BodyPump instructor does more than execute the routines, they also push their students to go further, provide encouragement on the harder sets, and teach proper form. Michelle exemplifies all that is great in an exercise instructor, and her skill, enthusiasm, and positive attitude are the real deal. If there is one drawback, its that her classes are very popular now, and you have to arrive early to get a good spot on the floor! Believe me, there are many so-so (or worse) exercise instructors out there, and its vastly better to have someone awesome like Michelle inspiring me to stay fit.

This is a huge, well-equipped fitness center. Visited while on business trip. Clientele appeared pretty serious workout enthusiasts. Excellent weight-training equipment. Everything you could want and duplicates - triplicates of most machines. Went mid-day and did not wait to use anything. Enormous selection of aerobic equipment as well. Helpful staff, but I did not take a class, require a trainer, or use the locker room. One downside was daily fee of $20 appears pretty steep. Most gyms I visit while traveling average $12 for a guest pass. One good point was that $20 really made me stay and workout extra hard! If you are following a weight-training program, this place will have what you need.

Great facility. Very clean and very well run. Staff are great and very helpful. Plenty of experience trainer. Group X exercise workout classes such as Zumba,BodyFlow,Insanity, and CXWork are always full. Equipment are new and work well. No problem finding any cardio machine to work on. Plenty of equipment. Basketball court is well schedule and I always see competitive and friendly games, as well as spare rims for non-game workout. People is very courteous sharing the 3(6x) swimming Lanes pool as well as the steam room and Sauna. I visit the Bovet fitness center more often than any other exercise place, even there are some are closer.

Friendly staff, clean, very professional. For me its about the water features which were all top notch. Pool is three shared lanes, and the jacuzzi is spacious and clean. although the Jets could be harder, it gets the job done. Steam room is perfect temperature, fills with fresh steam often, and has a fresh clean smell. Not old or mildewy. Sauna is spacious and nice. They have a suit dryer. Fresh towels are always available. Facilities are well maintained and there is plenty of parking. One of the best on this side of the Bay.
