WOW. Can I finish the review right here? There really is no need to add to that. No? OK... Tiffany is hands-down the best massage therapist I have ever met. She built this amazing Kanna Spa sanctuary at the heart of San Mateo, but when you step in, youre instantly transported into Tiffanys world and vision of peace, tranquility and calm. From the soft music, the gentle scents, the carefully selected decor to the complementary tea following THE massage - everything is meticulously handpicked and crafted. Attention to details everywhere. You know that youre dealing with someone who LOVES what they are doing and is taking great pride in the service of others. And the massage? well, I went in for a deep tissue, and let me tell you - by deep, I mean DEEP. I could not believe the kind of precise force and delicate strength this tiny lady is able to apply. I came in with a horribly stiff neck and shoulders, I could literally barely move for two days. Tiffany made it better to the point I was able to smile again (and turn my head, and bend my back and walk straight). She knows her art through and through and takes great pride in what she does. I highly, highly recommend visiting Tiffany if you have a need for a massage - heck, even if you think you dont need a massage - let me assure you, you need one - and Kanna Spa is the perfect place to go to. Prices are reasonable, service is exquisite and you will be back. Again, and again, and again. I know I will.

Tiffany has been my massage therapist for some time now. There is something for personal in choosing your go-to therapist. It all depends on what it is you want and what type of experience you prefer. What is beautiful about Tiffany is her multi-faceted approach to treating her clients. She can read body ques and more importantly, intuit your inner energy. You feel completely relaxed and in knowing hands. Some days I need to talk and talk and talk. Tiffany goes along with me on a chatty endeavor. Some days I need some quiet time to sift through emotions and thoughts....or fall asleep drooling. Tiffany senses it as soon ad I walk through the door. It is pure bliss having Tiffany work on you, no matter what mood you are in. I have to mention, dont let her petite frame fool you - she is, hands down, the only therapist that has been able to get to my deep knots under my shoulder blades...men, women, Olga alike, no ones got the strong yet gentle touch that Tiffany has. Tiffanys spa offers amazing tranquility, positive energy and natural aesthetics throughout. The meditation room with its starry night light fixture is a sight to behold. You transported from the daily hustle into a safe, beautiful, and peaceful environment to unwind and relax. I send everyone to Kanna Spa and I know they have sent people as well, much like ripples in water. Kanna Spa is an absolute must to visit.

Ok so not being from this area, and needing to plan a bachelorette spa day for my sisters wedding, I did a ton of research. Kanna spa had great reviews, and do they ever live up to their reputation! Firstly; the receptionist was so helpful on the phone to accommodate multiple appointments and people, so friendly and informative. We arrived today, and the place is immaculate. Clean, inviting, smelled amazing. Two of us got massages first, two got facials. My massage was done by Lucy, and holy cow. I mean, I feel like I could fill this review with only her! I wanted a deep, hard massage and she was perfect. I have so many knots and she got them all out, after I felt like I had actual range of motion in my body. Infrared sauna came after and I would highly recommend after getting all the toxins from our muscles out to then sweat them out of your body. Felt divine, and then we relaxed in the meditation room. The facials were done by the bride and my mom, and they both raved about how much dry, dead skin came off; they couldnt believe it! If I lived here, this would be my spa; the ladies are exceptional!

I shouldnt write this review, but then again that would be a terrible disservice. This spa is total hidden gem! Nirvana hidden in an offbeat location. I read some reviews in the area and this place came up strong. Suffering from a pinched nerve and looking for some muscle relief I decided to take a chance. And how lucky was I? Lucy was assigned to this cramped and suffering guy who wondered if I could get the attention I needed? Filled out a form, had an in depth discussion of what I was after. Lucy provided just the right level of pressure, where needed, adjusted as I guided her to painful spots and I melted under her care. Head to toe I was pampered and felt the relaxation I needed to find. Lucy is my newest best friend. Im sure the other therapists are equally talented, but you should check her out. Lucky find today. Im taking my wife to this oasis in the middle of San Mateo.

I took my husband to this place to get a deep tissue massage. It was a surprise for his bday. When you go there, the outside does not look too attractive, but once you get inside, its a whole new look. All of the masseuses are friendly and dress very professionally. While waiting for my husband, I think I was asked like 4 times if I wanted any tea or water to drink while waiting, in which all my responses were no bc I was not thirsty. The place is very quiet and Dolly was absolutely amazing. I was not sure if my husband would leave liking the place, but when we left, my husband could not stop talking about how awesome his experience was. We are definitely going back and I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone. There are no handicap accessible entries, as this is on the second floor, just fyi. Other than that, they are FANTASTIC!!!

This was my first time at Kana Spa – and definitely won’t be my last. My partner treated me to their “Decompress and Detoxify” couples package. The massage package was really unique: hot stones deep tissue, foot massage, their “four-handed body bliss” with two massage therapists working at the same time, and it finishes off with a detoxifying back wrap. The massage felt amazing and my massage therapist Tiffany made me feel very comfortable the whole time. This was the best massage and spa experience I’ve ever had. The next day my back felt like a million bucks! I can’t wait to go back to get my next massage.

Easy parking, so I dont arrive pre-stressed. Relaxing atmosphere. And the massage? Ive had appointments with Tiffany, the owner, and several other practitioners. They are all amazingly skillful. I get relief from pain, greater flexibility, and deep relaxation, with benefits that last way beyond the appointment itself. Visits to Kanna are good for my physical health and my mental health. PS - Im also a big fan of the infrared sauna.

Tiffany is a gifted practitioner. She is attune with my bodys needs, and goes above and beyond to make sure Im getting the best experience possible.
