Several years ago, when I first went to G & C Auto Body to get an estimate for some damage to my car, I must admit I was a little taken aback by the eagerness and enthusiasm of Sean Crozat, who was the manager of the San Rafael shop. I wasnt used to being treated in such a manner. You know, helpful, enthusiastic, respectful, friendly, and above all, always professional. Consistently being addressed as Mister Leeman took some time, but I got used to it. And it felt good. Even more importantly, they fixed some major damage on my car perfectly, beautifully. They also enthusiastically handled all the insurance hassles, the rental car situation, and kept in touch with me often to let me know how it was going. I have had at least two other cars and and a pick up truck repaired at their facility and I must say, I couldnt possibly ask for better service or better results. It turns out that everyone is enthusiastic, respectful, friendly, yet professional. Getting in a car accident is never fun, but the attitudes of the folks at G & C make it a pleasure. It is a treat to do business with these wonderful people.

The work done on my truck was fine. I did not know before hand that this is a commission Shop.This means that the workers are not considered employees of G&C. G&C calls them self contractors. They receive no benefits. No Social Security taxes and State disability taxes or income taxes are deducted from their checks. They get a check of a percentage of the bill. If a metal man is a fast worker and they have a lot of work for him he can get a large check at the end of the week. If there is not much work for him, he doesnt get much. The state of Ca. may not agree that they are in fact individual contractors it depends on who provides there work and several other factors. in the future I would bring my repairs to a regular reputable shop that provides benefits to their workers and complies with State law. I am surprised they asked me to write a review. I brought in a hardtop convertible with a broken windshield and some other damage. Their repair personnel called and asked me to come back to the shop as they could not figure out how to put the top down. Although I came back within 20 minutes of their call, by the time I got there, they had already taken many parts off the car. The top mechanism would not activate. The undercurrent I felt was that it was my fault, i.e., the top must have been defective prior to dropping off the car. After several phone call, lots of anxiety, their manager finally figured out they had activated a safety over-ride switch. I would not go back there or recommend the shop. In my opinion they have grown too quickly and may not have the same quality of personnel as they did only a year or two ago.

I can not believe I got an email to ask me to review your company. I had a horrible experience with my Prius and there is no way I would be able to recommend anyone I know go to your shop. There were broken promises of what would be done and when it would be completed. There was the fact that I never got an actual estimate and I was pushed to get the work done because my insurance would pay regardless so you didnt think it mattered. Then, you gave me your company rental car with the logo of G&C on it that I had to drive around for a week and tried to make me feel like I was lucky enough to use your car rather than a real rental. My car isnt even completely repaired. I am sorry to have to write a negative review, but you asked.

This is the second time Ive used G&C Auto Body, and if anything, my experience was more positive than the last time (which was also a 5 star experience). I showed up for my damage assessment appointment early, but was waited on immediately. The inspection was quick and thorough, and I was on my way within a half hour. As promised, they called on Tuesdays and Thursdays, letting me know the progress of the repair. The car was ready a day or so ahead of when they thought it would be, and the job they did was outstanding. I have a difficult color to match (three steps), and they hit it right on. Highly recommend this shop to anyone requiring body work on their vehicle.

I had my Audi damaged by glass falling from a light in a parking lot. G&C was recommended to me, so i took my car there, and it was a complete nightmare. They didnt work with the insurance company, so i had to deal with everything. They took weeks, i had to deal with the insurance company, paying then collecting from my insurer (who dealt with the property owner), they charged ~$4000 bucks, i take the car home, and i am getting paint transfer. Now, after a few thousand miles, i have more rock chips than i had when i took the car in-i wouldve been better off just getting the windshield replaced and leaving the paint as is. My advice is-stay away from this place.

C&G Auto Body is great! In the beginning I was leary because my insurance suggested them and I wanted to be sure it wasnt some random company. But when I met with the inspector who looked at my car, he was so thorough, addressed every single one of my concerns, and my car came back looking brand new as if nothing had ever happened!!! No alignment problems, just spankin new! So I am happy to give them a great review, for both excellent customer service and body work. These guys are THE BEST. I had a wonderful experience recently when my car was involved in an accident and the other partys insurance company assumed responsibility for the repair. As a senior citizen, I certainly have had my fair share of experiences with Auto Body shops; some good, some bad. Without question, G&C was the best experience I ever had. They are professional, honest, reasonable, customer- oriented, informative and very skilled. If you choose to use them, you can be assured that you can trust them and that their work will be first rate.

Not only did these guys do a great job on my car, they fought the insurance company to put the proper parts on my car. My insurance was wanting to only pay for after market sub standard parts on my 2008 Honda Accord and G&C went to bat to make sure that my car had quality parts on it.Then the insurance company want me to pay for the labor difference??? Why do i pay my insurance in the first place?!!? Needless to say i have since then dropped my insurance carrier GEICO!! Dont let the lizard fool you too!!

I found this Auto Body Shop before reading these reviews so needless to say I was a bit alarmed at my choice. But they actually turned out to be quite efficient and they did an excellent job repairing my Nissan Altima. I especially appreciated the good communication of their front office staff. Tara also was kind enough to offer to have Hertz pick up my rental car at their shop; so I wouldnt have to make an extra trip back to the rental car office. Good work.
