We enrolled our child and overlooked the fact that the ladies running the place were rude, short tempered, crass, unprofressional and lacked tact. We rode the dance wave for several years before we finally said "enough is enough"! We are in no way "stage parents" nor do we have any desire in our child becoming the next "child star" but we do know that this is NOT the way a dance studio should function! Unfortunately the lesson came at the cost of our child being bullied, verbally beaten down, emotionally spent, and spoken to in a way no adult should ever speak to a child. When I would take our child to class, we would walk in, sit in the looby, and wait for Rhonda to usher the students in to class. Once they were settled, she would close the door and most...if not all...the parents(including myself) would leave and return an hour later. I was under the impression that my child was ok and in the hands of a trusting, capable adult. Boy was I wrong! Little did I know just how much was really going on behind those closed doors. Our child finally let us know exactly what was going on and just how terribly Rhonda spoke to a number of the students in the class(es). I started to hang back and instead of leaving the studio during the class times, I sat in the lobby and low and behold I witnessed for myself the ugliness of Rhondas sharp tongue. We never returned! While she does her job of teaching the students the art of dance, she crushes their self esteem in the process. Steer clear of this place! There are plenty of reputable dance studios in the city...my advice to you, seek them out!

This facility is somewhat rundown and while the front desk person seems friendly enough while collecting money and giving out the admission forms there is something lacking about this place. I especially did not care for the manner in which they took my 3 yr old daughter from the front lobby to the studio. It was very abrupt without any introduction or transitioning and then they shut the door between us. She was very upset and after a couple of minutes of her crying and pawing at the door they shoved her out and quickly closed the door. I left and never came back. Call me old fashioned but I am suspicious of any environment that wants access to unchaperoned children.

Stockton School of Performing Arts, also known as SSPA, is a great dance studio! I have been going there for awhile and I have heard from lots of other students and parents that they really like! The Teachers are very nice and always let the parents know what is going on whether its a competition, a performance, or something about costumes. Also all the students there are always improving! Whether youre on the dance team or not you will make improvement! SSPA offers a a nice variety of classes from ballet and tap to hip hop and singing. Its a great place to go so give it a shot!

I think this place is amazing Ive been going there for about 4 years and I love it someone had said they had pushed her kid and her child was very upset well I know for sure SSPA would never ever treat a child in such a way
