We had PVC pipe broken on 8/17/2014. We had this company come over to check. It is very obvious the leak is not very far from the water meter. The technician told us that from long run we should change the PVC to copper on the section from meter to house valve. It might cost 3 to 4 thousand dollars. The current pipe has been there for 13 years. City of Irvine has most strict building code. The current pipe has been there for 13 years. We were not really convinced by this copper theory. Then he said he can fix where leak is, but can not give us any warranty. It will cost $975. This seemed outrages and unreasonable. We decided to dig the ground by ourself. It was at a few inches after water meter. The leak came on the coupling. We usually fix the sprinkler pipe by ourself. But this is too close to the water meter and it is main inflow pipe. We thought it is better to called professional. The second company fixed and charged $363. If we had bigger PVC pipe cutter, and we fixed by our self, It may just cost under $10.

I was in need of a replacement part for a gas wall furnace in my house and after consulting numerous employees at a local big box hardware store chain, I finally found someone who had the faintest clue of what I needed and they referred my to Torrance Plumbing. I came in and was surprised to find a very helpful and knowledgeable employee in their parts department who quickly identified what I needed and was able to provide me a replacement part within a couple of minutes. It was refreshing to deal with someone who really knew their stuff and delivered the kind of service that is sorely lacking in those big chains. Their prices may be a bit higher but rest assured I will be going back to Torrance Plumbing for all my plumbing, heating and air conditioning needs.

Torrance Plumbing is by far the most unprofessional company that has ever serviced the South Bay. First of all, the customer service is very rude and it seems as if they double or even triple their prices. I called them to have my wall heater serviced and they were charging me $120.00 just to diagnose the darn thing! Luckily, I was able to get my uncle to replace the thermostat. I will never call this company again.
