My wife, child and I went to this place today. Bottom line - you cant judge a book by its cover. Upon entering the main door, the place was hopping and had a great atmosphere. I thought we were in for a treat but nothing could be farther from the truth. Cole slaw and brisket tell me everything about a bbq place. Lets start with the slaw - I have never experienced something so bland in my life. Like the decor of the place - it looked great in appearance, but then you taste it and it tastes like nothing!!!! Even the flavor of the cabbage itself was gone! No pepper taste, no vinegar, just blandness. I had the chance to try the brisket, the pulled chicken and pulled pork. All the meats had no smoke flavor and again were stripped of ANY natural flavors. I dont even comprehend this. The brisket was tough, the pulled chicken had nice texture but thats it. The cornbread rolls were the size of a chocolate chip. The prices were also ridiculous. I lost the 1st review I wrote here when the text was erased. Im still taking the time to re-write this to save you the money. I feel like this place is run by someone like an owner of a restaurant on the chef Ramses show where they are in the kitchen thinking their food tastes good and it just doesnt - but they wont listen to anyone! The other side to this is that there was no shortage of people seeming to be there! I cant fathom this. Even the bbq sauces were watery and ruined any ability to isolate them on the plate...besides the fact that they also sucked. The service was also nothing to write home about. Our young bearded hipster servant was saved by a passing by older waitress to get our check and a box to bring the left over meats home to our dog! I still am amazed at the raving SHORT reviews on here. I think the owners friends and family must be on because none of them take the time to break anything down like any one who loves real bbq would. I took the time to come here and write this - even after I lost my review by accidentally deleting the text. I really hope you realize how much I wanted to share this experience with you, If you want an amazing experience, go to Woodland park and find that bbq jem. The owners of this place should go over there with a note book. I will never go to this place EVER again.

OUTSTANDING FOOD SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE! We went in on Saturday night knowing every where would have a long wait. They originally quoted us 40 minutes but told us we could grab a fresh beverage from the bar and wait out on the patio if we would like. We came back in 20 minutes later and they sat us shortly after. They had live music that wasnt overbearing but just enough to make you feel like you are in the south. Its small, but thats what makes it so great, you feel like your at a home cooked meal with friends and family around. We met a great couple near us just because we were close. (Not too close that you cant enjoy your own conversation and dinner) We had an AWESOME server named Rebecca. She was promt, respectful and informative. She recommended drinks and the fried okra to start out, and it was yummy! Then we ordered the ribs and brisket with baked beans and mashed potatoes. The catfish dinner with jalapeño hush puppies, mashed potatoes and red beans with rice. The ribs - were tender and very flavorful Brisket - could use some salt/seasoning but overall was very moist and delicious. The baked beans - are to die for! We missed having made from scratch sides with our meals. The mashed potatoes - they were delicious with the gravy! But could be hotter, everything else on the plate was hotter than them. Still very good though! The catfish - just like momma makes it! We loved the southern rub and it melted in our mouths. Very tender and flavorful. Red beans with rice - was spicy and different, Id never had them prepared like this before but man were they good! We can honestly say we give this place 5 stars for service, food, and prices. We were going to enjoy a desert but we were just way too full! The proportions are great for your doller. After everything we ate, we had left overs that were just as good the second time! The only recommendation we have was - we wish they had a bigger cornbread with some honey on the table. But we could live without! Thank you for the great experience!

I was in Colorado Springs for a few days for work. I had gone to Bird Dog BBQ the day before. I was going to give Colorado barbecue another shot. According to others, Front Range Barbeque seemed like a good place to go. You cannot always trust reviews though. Most places have good and bad days. You just never know. That is why I tell everyone to use my reviews as a guide. Front Range Barbeque uses mesquite pellets in their smoker. I have not had meat smoked by wood pellets before. I ordered the Frontier Combo which consisted of ribs plus two meats and two sides. I got moist brisket, sausage, and sides of coleslaw and red beans and rice. The brisket was terrible. It tasted like it was a pot roast cooked in beer. I could not eat more than one slice. It was dry, and if I would venture to say, it was probably smoked a day or two ago. This is probably the first time I have been served reheated brisket. The ribs came naked which meant no sauce on it. They were tender and falling of the bone, but there was not a lot of rub or flavor. They were also dry. The sausage was another commercial sausage made for them in Denver. It was just okay. If I would guess, the sausage was smoked and then reheated on a grill when it was ready to be served. The sides were bland. I did not finish all of the meat or sides. I just could not enjoy the meal. The cornbread was the best thing of the meal if that tells you something. Front Range Barbeque does serve other meats on the menu. I am pretty sure I would not be stopping by again. I just do not agree with how they do their barbecue at Front Range. Just say no to reheated barbecue and yes to fresh smoked meat. I felt bad for the waitress. She knew I did not like it, but there was nothing she could have done. There is a Rudys Country Store And Bar-B-Q in Colorado Springs if anyone wanted to know. I have yet to try it though, but I would imagine it is the best choice in Colorado Springs.

My mother and I were extremely disappointed in this establishment. We were traveling across the country with a U-Haul trailer on a move to my new job in Las Vegas Nevada. My mother and I are both food junkies and love to try highly recommended places. As we were coming into Denver, there were several places that were highly recommended but, Front Range Barbecue caught our attention after being highly regarded by flavor town USA. I love the idea of the two brothers starting a business for themselves and contributing to the community and their take on Southern cuisine however that was not the case. I made a reservation For 830 and when I arrived there was no One to greet us. Additionally, we both ordered ribs and brisket, ribs came out quickly and were way overcooked and definitely hard and chewy. We alerted the waitress and she went to talk with the chef when she returned, she told us that all of the ribs were dry tonight but did offer to compensate us with other meats of our choice. After reading the story about the dry rub on the ribs I was extremely disappointed in what was put in front of me especially since we skipped staying in Denver Colorado to drive down to Colorado Springs just to try their barbecue. They replaced our ribs with some andouille sausage which had more of a boiled texture than a smoked one and some chicken which although it was moist but still rather bland. We sat there with a lot of food on our plates and disappointment on our faces. Last but not least I thought I could find some consolation in my cornbread muffin which after I sank my teeth in I found that the entire bottom and side was charred black. Im not sure what everybody sees this place. The food was dreadful, the service was subpar, and the atmosphere is drastically out of date. Definitely not worth stopping for.
