What better accolades can be stated about an automotive care center than TRUSTWORTHY, COMPETENT, and EFFICIENT? I was driving to Boston from Baltimore, Maryland when my car made the most horrible noise. I got off at exit 63 and used my phone GPS to find the nearest auto repair shop. AAMCO Manchester (CT) was only a bit over a mile away from the exit ramp at 697 Parker Street. When I got there, Mike, the owner, was at the front desk (but soon thereafter Matt, the manager came in from the shop and took over the processing of my car) and got my car IMMEDIATELY in the shop for a free diagnostic. They quickly determined that I had a bad wheel bearing and put my car right on the lift. They had the parts in stock and fixed my car... while I was waiting in the sitting room. I didnt even get a chance to flip through one of the magazines and it was done! The bill was very, very fair-- thankfully fair-- since they really could have caused me considerable expense and inconvenience by having to find a hotel room in Connecticut for the night (or two?) As it was Mike, Matt, and the crew got me on the road with only a couple hours off my original itinerary. I wish such a facility was in Baltimore.

Went there after another place had recharged my A/C w/o checking for leaks & when I had no A/C a day later I went back & was told the mechanic that had been renting the space was no longer there! The guy at Aamco went on about how awful that was, that that sullies the reputation of all mechanics etc. Then he recharged the A/C with stuff to find the leak, & it was in the tubes going to the back of my van. I asked if we couldnt just eliminate A/C to the back, & he said hed look into it. When I didnt hear back after several days, I called & spoke to I think his manager--somebody that said theyd be sure he got back to me. When I *still* didnt hear from him, I tried one more time, again was told by someone else that theyd tell him I called. I NEVER heard back from him! Hes no better than the 1st guy who ripped me off! You can be sure I tore up his business cards he gave me!

Do NOT go to AAMCO of Manchester. I had my transmission rebuilt by them February of last year, and since then Ive had nothing but problems. It never shifted right from day one, and despite numerous complaints, they refused to do more than test drive it and tell me it was fine. I even had to have it towed back to their shop last winter after a busted seal, of which I was never reimbursed for. 18 months later, the transmission is failing in parts that they originally "replaced", and they refused to fix it for less than $700. I paid $2500 for a transmission that lasted 18 months. DO NOT GO TO AAMCO!

Knowledgeable Staff and quality work. Ive had both transmission work and other general service work done here. These guys are well trained and were willing to work with me on what absolutely needed to get done and what could wait, which I appreciated. They took the time to explain the repairs. Havent had to use the warranty but feel good they would stand behind their work. Ive referred several friends to this AAMCO and all have had similar results.

I have gone to AAMCO in Manchester for maintenance and general auto repairs. The service is here is great! They do a good job at much better prices than going to the dealership. If my transmission ever goes, Ill definitely take it here.

The guys and service at AAMCO are great! I have had my brakes and suspension for my Mazda worked on there and have been very happy with the price, service and the time it took to get it done. I will definitely go there again.
