Rosies restaurant on Elm Street in New Canaan whose motto is Taste the Love is the most beautifully decorated bistro in the area with homemade banquets of handmade material and wooden bistro tables seating four or an entire family at long wooden community tables where sharing is love. My favorite is the patisserie where delicious desserts are handmade on premises to order. Chocolate cupcakes mini chocolate gateaus and carrot cake are made to perfection. Order the carrot cake for a delightful treat that you can take home because its too large to finish in one seating. Rosie is crowded and busy all day long making it difficult to get a table its the most popular restaurant in town serving breakfast and lunch closing at 5 pm each day. They dont take reservations except in special occasions. The best times to go are between 11:00 - 12:00 pm and between 1:30 - 2:00 pm to get a seat at Rosies. Service is served with a smile making you want to return to this warm and friendly bistro with excellent food exceptional service both inside and outside on the patio where most people choose to sit when spring begins at the charming bistro tables smiling and chatting enjoying their meals with homemade coffee. Coffee is served cafe style in large French mugs and cups. Espresso Caffe Latte Cappuccino are delicious choices especially to have with your dessert. I like go just to have a cup of espresso with a chocolate gateau or a piece of carrot cake. Rosie is moderately priced with breakfast lunch and Sunday brunch starting at $17.00 for an omelette a la carte in this delicious downtown bistro with dining outside overlooking a brick paved pedestrian pathway. Rosies is absolutely delightful with rose bushes and violets blooming everywhere with lush potted plants hanging near your tables inside creating a cosy style. You wont want to leave this special place with the scent of chocolate and violets enticing you to return to this absolutely awesome downtown bistro where Taste the Love is the motto and the reality. I highly recommend this first class bistro downtown New Canaan Rosies is absolutely amazing :-)

I have had many a great meal at Rosies in the last decade. However, last week was a terrible experience. We arrived at 12:30 and were seated quickly. It then took 15 minutes for someone to take our order at which time we requested no cheese due to food allergies. Thirty minutes later we had no food. Forty-five minutes later food arrived with cheese. There were no apologies, no attempts to make the experience better. The restaurant was dirty. The head waitress told us they had a new computer system and it was not running well. We left before the food arrived. Later I wrote Rosie and still have not heard back. Hopefully, the restaurant personnel will get trained on the computer system, clean up the counters and tables, and learn about good customer service and once again we will have a good Rosies restaurant in New Canaan. Since leadership starts at the top, I am guessing the changes will need to be made there first The experience was not one I am used to in a New Canaan restaurant :(

To say our experience at Rosies was sub par would be an under statement. At first we dealt with Allison who took our order and was very courteous. However, after having to change our order several times from the restaurant being out of stock of several items, we received several orders that were either missing items or completely wrong. We called the restaurant and again was kindly promised a refund from Allison but then that was retracted after the owner found out. She called us back and was extremely rude, laughing at us when we got upset. I have worked in the restaurant industry and often frequent restaurants around the world and have NEVER been met with such manners or lack of customer service. Do not order food from Rosie if you want good service or the food you actually ordered.

Been there a few times, food is not fresh. Baked items all seem like bakeoffs, the "famous" carrot cake, I have had elswhere with different icing. That is probably store bought as well. Happend to be there once when the female owner who I asume is Rosie was screaming like she was Psychotic. She will humiliate employees infront of customers. I would not let my teenager work there. Toxic atmospher. The male owner appeared intoxicated. Things are always chaotic and service is slow.. They seem more interested in appearance then a quality product or good service. Very snotty, very phony. Kind of trailer park trash. Prices are ridiculous!!!! There much nicer places in walk distance

If the only option to eat in is sit down with service then train your staff better. No refills on water and it took forever for cold sandwiches to come out. I was also very disappointed with the quality of the sandwich I ordered - they figured out how to fold the wrap several times so there wasnt any room for chicken salad on the inside. It was $8.50! They also used rotten tomatoes - no good.

wait staff is awesome. food is very good i get exactly what i order if i order incorrectly which I do since my mind is spacing out, theyll redo my order right away. I really like this place it is my new favorite since i dont really cook but what to eat very healthy to feed my machine after training.

Great baked goods. We come for Sunday breakfast. You really have to beat the brunch crowd or its ridiculously busy. Servers are great but it always feels understaffed during brunch and there will be a wait. Never been for any other meals.

Good place for quickly cooked and/or ready-to-eat food. Some creative plates and ready-to-eat choices. I wish they were open early in the morning on weekdays.

Dirty and overpriced. Once they also forgot to prepare a large takeout order for a company meeting and never apologized or mad amends

Nearly $11 for 2 scrambled eggs and 2 slices of bacon? Youve got to be kidding. It tasted good at least but I wont be back.
