What happened to the old staff that were here about a year ago?!?!?! The new staff are horrible, they barely even look at us when we walk in. They have their feet up on the counter when I have walked in a couple of times. Plus, yesterday there was two basketball injuries on the court last night and it took a staff member 15 minutes to walk over and when I saw the staff walk over he was on his phone the whole time. What kind of BS is that?!?!? I even saw gym members going into the employee storage room to get volleyball equipment (poll and net) because the staff are not so bright at this location and lied saying that equipment room was locked. You guys better shape up fast or we as the members will start recording all this nonsense that is going on at the gym, this means recording staff behavior and such and uploading them to youtube and instagram. Dont worry, we are pretty good at video editting so faces will be blurred out!!! I have complained to corporate a couple of times but no one seems to care so this may get their attention, changes need to be made because this gym is amazing but the people that currently work there dont care about the job or the customers and we can see it. Pay them to work and not socialize with each other!!!

Have been a member here since they first opened this location several years ago. I joined primarily for the pool. I was generally pleased with the facilities and service. Went here today after a hiatus of about a year and was VERY disappointed. The pool was too cold to swim in. Locker rooms and showers were very dirty. Lock boxes were out of order. I spoke with the person at the desk on the way out and he admitted that the pool heater was out of service and would not be working before the end of the week. The reason given for the delay is a cumbersome requisition process with Corporate. Same thing for the lock boxes. The bad housekeeping was explained as difficulty in hiring custodial staff. Sounds like a deliberate policy to cut back on maintenance. Maybe they have peaked in their new members and thats all they care about? Stay away.

Im a recent high school grad, and LA definitely has the most accommodating facility in the area, plenty of cardio, freeweights, machines... Had a great experience with my free personal training session, and have signed up for 2 straight summer memberships to date. Staff that Ive interacted with have been very friendly and helpful where they can be. The members generally take care of their gym, and I never feel uncomfortable asking for a spot from a stranger. Granted that I stubbornly follow my own workout routine, I cant comment on the quality of a regular trainer. As far as plates and free-weights go, I rarely have trouble finding the equipment I need to complete my workout. Nothing about this gym has upset me nearly enough to ruin my day.

Was given a membership by my wife for Christmas. I visited the club several times by my self, found it to be about on par with the Planet Fitness as far as cleanliness. She was given several complimentary visit passes when she enrolled me and one day decided she would come with me to check it out and maybe change. I waited for her to come out of the sales area for 10 minutes where she said she was harassed and told she would have to take a 15 minute tour (which she did before she enrolled me) or pay $15 dollars to use the facility for the day. Dont believe anything the sales staff says. We left and have not returned. I called to cancel but was told I need to come in person. Maybe they will convince me I should stay....

As someone who swims, the choices of health clubs are very limited. The club is ok, they have decent parking (except the landlord needs to pave the lot!). The place is huge with lots of equipment. Pool is adequate. Its closed today (yesterday ph was off) and being drained. Pool could be cleaner and better maintained. Its a small pool with only 4 lanes and is crowded about 70% of the time. Sales staff is pushy, they are commission. See Brian the manager and tell him you dont want a story. He was decent to deal with. I almost joined 3 yrs ago but the price changed during my trial and I told them no way. The Norwalk Y closed and had to find a place fairly quickly.

Filthy, nasty, unkempt. Ive seen empty water bottles, paper towels, and other junk just lay on the floor for days before the cleaning crew cleaned it up! Theyve just put a ton of money into an expansion but yet some of the machines that need updating or service/attention are still in lack luster condition. The locker room bathrooms reek of filth, and one of the stalls is ALWAYS out of order...smh. Its a shame. With this new expansion, the gym is so big now that it feels as if were ants inside an ant farm. Theyre so concerned with getting new members but they forgotten to pay attention to the little details. Trumbull LA Fitness is 10x nicer and better managed.

Norwalk, CT and Stamford, CT. Im ok with the horrible customer service since I just want to work out. I want to be in and out. What I am not okay with is that the place has no security of any kind. I have been robbed in their gym a couple of times, wallet and cell phone gone. I have also been verbally assaulted by an LA fitness staff. Useless to file police complaints without any evidence. LA fitness has no security cameras in place under the pretense of privacy. What about personal security for its members?

Worst managed gym ever! Weights are never racked (even by trainers) and if you ask them to rack they laugh at you. The locker rooms are so unkempt I would never never shower there. Ever. I have made several complaints to management and corporate from everything to the weights to terrible employees, They do not care. Even took pics of trash and weights thrown everywhere and got not response from anyone. Do not join this gym - got to crunch or the edge.

I was very excited when I first started this gym. However soon I felt betrayed because I was promised things such as WIFI by the GM (Bryan) which I will never get. They will say and do anything to have you sign up. Also a horrible experience where I was rushed out by the GM! Talk about customer service. Consider your options before you jump to conclusions about LA Fitness.

Renovations are nice. Great selection of classes. Ive been to many LA Fitnesses to compare. Id say the one thing here is I consider the front desk as one entity with mood swings. Some days I get tude other days I get a sunny hi. Other than that, its a basic LA fitness. The instructors for classes are friendly and willing give you individual attention.

While there is a pretty good selection of machines here, the facility is run down and dirty, and they have explicitly deprioritized taking care of it according to multiple accounts Ive heard. After Julian left as a manager, things have gone down hill. However, it is relatively inexpensive.
