I began my Crossfit journey almost 2 years ago at Crossfit Relentless in West Hartford, but am mostly at the South Windsor box since they opened because of the shorter commute. I really love the opportunity to work out at various locations depending on my schedule. At the prodding of my daughter I joined Crossfit to improve my overall endurance and strength in order to play my racquet sport more competitively. But soon discovered the “sport” of Crossfit is something that can be enjoyed at all different levels of fitness. It is fitness exercise set up to challenge you in a measureable way to compete against yourself. I joined the limited session program thinking that would enough for me. Within two weeks, I was hooked and went to the unlimited program and have never looked back. Who knew fitness training could be a blast! Don’t get me wrong, Crossfit is extremely hard and challenging and there are some days I ask why one would subject themselves to such punishment. But I have found the sense of accomplishment addictive. It is very motivating and never boring. There is encouragement from all members of the gym as well as the coaches. We have the best coaches! All our coaches are very knowledgeable, attentive and supportive. Their enthusiasm is contagious. Relentless prides itself on technique. They tell us once you have technique, the weight will come and it really works. No getting sloppy or you’ll get called out. There is no exercise that cant be scaled to your level of fitness. I am one of the “senior” members of the box and have not felt better or stronger in my life, both mentally and physically. There is no way I dreamed of being in such good shape or having the ability to do the things I’ve accomplished without Relentless. So no matter what your fitness level (or age) you owe it to yourself to come and try a class at Relentless.

After working out in a gymnasium chain for the last five years, I hit a plateau, workouts got boring and I no longer broke a sweat. I realized paying $25 for a 30-minute private session was not a joke anymore. When I asked myself how far I have progressed - NOT MUCH was the answer. That was about the same time I came across CrossFit Games in ESPN and started wondering how does people achieve fitness at such a peak level. I was thrilled to know a new "Box"-South Windsor CrossFit opening up within three minutes of where I live. I was provided an opportunity to come in for a free trial in one of their other Box. After one hour of workout the next day, I had made up my mind. This was the change I was looking for and I started to realize this could only get better. Ever since they opened the doors in September 2013, it has been a great workout drive. I look forward to working out everyday (even though I end up out of breath almost every day) - be it for the variety, variations, stretching or yoga. The days when I know I am going to be in pain are the ones I very much look forward to. Gone are the days I ignore pull ups, push ups or sit ups. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable, inspirational, friendly, easy to approach and provide you with great encouragement to succeed. The people are more like a family constantly cheering you to get better and better and even more better. I am looking for many more years of working out in this Box to achieve my goals to build strength, increase my endurance and live a stress free life. This "Box Rocks". An investment worth investing.

I joined CrossFit South Windsor about two months ago. I have been interested in CrossFit for a couple of years, but never found a location that was conveniently located and worked with my schedule. CFSW, and the other four locations of the Relentless Nation were exactly what I needed. I consider South Windsor my home box, but also go to the West Hartford location a couple of times a week. The coaches at CrossFit South Windsor are great. They have a combination of technical knowledge, professionalism and friendliness that make you comfortable immediately. It is the personal guidance of the coaches that makes you feel safe trying all the new and unfamiliar exercises that you come across in CrossFit. They scale the workouts to meet the fitness level of any member regardless age or experience. The members of CrossFit South Windsor are some of the friendliest people I have met in a long time. They are supportive and helpful. I was surprised at first to hear the members cheering each other on to complete that last rep or push through to the end of an especially grueling workout. But at CrossFit South Windsor, this happens during almost every workout. In short, I am loving my CrossFit experience so far and that is due to the great environment created by the team at CrossFit South Windsor.

I live in West Hartford and I started CrossFit in West Hartford nearly two years ago. There are no less than six boxes within a fifteen minute drive from me (including CF Relentless, which is my "home" box),yet I drive farther to CF South Windsor each and every weekend, often for both the Olympic lifting class and then the WOD or WOD then yoga, depending on the day. More weekends than not, Im there Saturday and Sunday because its nice to get that extra time in under a coachs eye. The coaching is excellent. The coaches Ive had there know my current concerns, goals, and are always friendly and understanding without arrogance. Accommodations are made for injury, experience level, and strength. The facility is clean and all the equipment is in good condition. Theres ample space for both yoga classes in a separate, clean, relaxing room and for skill practice in the main workout area. Ive found the members there to be friendly, open, and the range of abilities to be pretty vast. When youre missing from your usual workout time, people ask about you. We celebrate each others successes and cheer on those who are working hard to complete the workout. Its a pretty amazing place.

I joined CFSW in the beginning of October 2013, I had become sick of just lifting weights in the gym and I wanted to challenge myself with something new. Little did I know, that by joining the CFSW I was getting much more than a gym. It is an incredible community where the coaches are hands on, attentive and knowledgeable and the members are all encouraging and kind. I was missing the team like environment that playing sports gave me and CFSW definitely revived that; everyone cheering one another on and encouraging their fellow CrossFitters made it feel like being on a team all over again. The classes are great, and the coaches are even better. Being injury prone I was worried that if I got injured I would have to stop for a long time, like in sports, however the coaches are great at modifying workouts so that you can still get your workout in without straining yourself in a harmful way. If youre looking to bump up your workout with encouraging people and coaches that actually care, joining the relentless nation is what I strongly recommend.

I cant say enough about CrossFit South Windsor. I had my first introduction to CrossFit in this box when it opened in September 13, and Ive been hooked ever since. The coaching is top notch - even though its group classes, the coaches always give every person individual attention every time. People seem intimidated by CrossFit, but its completely scalable to make it work for people of all ages and conditioning. And its incredible how quickly you gain strength and stamina through the workouts, which vary every day so that you never get bored. You just walk in and do what the coach tells you for an hour, from warm-up to stretching - they take care of all the planning! The location is so convenient with plenty of parking. I highly recommend it to everyone (in fact, I kind of cant stop talking about it to everyone I see)!
