The gym as a whole is a very adequate experience, it has the machines and equipment necessary to have a proper work out but nothing more. The terrible part about this gym is how if at any instance during your membership period if you want to freeze or cancel your membership they make it nearly impossible to do so. I go to Uconn and was traveling abroad for the fall semester and working the summer in New York City. I called them to ask if they could put a freeze on my account as I would not be at the gym at all during the fall. They told me I would have to go into the office with DOCUMENTATION! to prove that I was actually going abroad and then on top of that fill out a departure form and promise to resign with them when I get back. I had to take off work all the way to drive up to Vernon, CT to do this when I simply could have done it on the phone. It is absolutely preposterous and ridiculous how they try to lock you in to their gym and you have absolutely no freedom to cancel or leave whenever you want. They claim that it is about loyalty, but if you want to have loyal customers, DONT trap them in to these absurd contracts that are something a pro athlete would sign. Absolute worst membership services I have ever encountered!!

Overall I have had a positive experience with Cardio Express in Vernon. Other than a minor billing issue which was resolved promptly to my satifaction, I have had no problems during my multiple years of working out here. The staff is friendly and courteous, and the atmosphere is relaxed and upbeat. There is plenty of equipment, both free weights and machines, as well as tons of cardio machines. The equipment is rarely out of order, and when something is broken it is usually repaired quickly. My only complaint is that the dumbbells only go up to 75 lbs., and when I asked I was told they wouldnt be getting anything heavier. This is becoming an issue, as Im getting to the point where I need heavier ones for many exercises. I can make it work for now. So unless youre a hardcore bodybuilder, Cardio Express should have everything youd need to get and stay fit.

This is an enjoyable place to work out. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are lots of aerobic machines, although not much of a selection of different types, and these can fill up at busy times. In fact, Ive been there at times where I couldnt even find a spot in the huge parking lot with one business vacant - I dont know what theyre gonna do if anybody ever moves in there. One big argument I have with this and a lot of "24-hour places is the hours! They are only open from 7:00 - 5:00 P.M. on Saturdays and Sundays and close at 9:00 on Fridays. How do they get away with calling that 24 hours?

Great staff, clean gym, good members. Could have more equipment varieties. Its a big gym but is often crowded. They just reupholstered many of the machines and are under new management, things are looking good.

I live in Tolland, and Im willing to drive to Vernon to work out here. The gym is always perfectly clean, the staff are always warm and inviting, and it has more than enough equipment to go around.

Newer gym - great equipment with fans/tvs in cardio equipment. Can be a little crowded, but always seem to be able to get the weights I need and run when I want
