Took complete advantage of me. Here I am a 21 year old girl (at the time) purchasing my first car- a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. Signed for a lease at $350/mo @ 48 months. My parents told me that it was a ridiculous price and I needed to get out of it. The sticker on the car I bought said $21,000. This was a year and a half ago and we find out today that the buyout price is still at $21,000. How could that be when Ive been paying the car off for 18 months?? Probably because they sold me the car for $24,000 when it was worth $21,000. Not even any little extra specs included in that extra $3,000. They just jacked up the price on me because hey apparently I didnt know what I was doing!! My dad went to speak to my salesman right after he found this out and my salesman claims that he didnt sell the car to me... Unreal. My salesman and his manager didnt even write their names on my lease agreement in the box where it specifically asks for their names in print!!! They knew exactly what they were doing....!!!!! Make the drive to the Avon dealerships. Its worth it. If you do go there though, make sure you know every single thing youre signing for, make sure you keep all documentation and be careful!!!! Also, when I purchased my car I was told I would have the Hyundai blue link as a free trial. When I finally went to get help at the store to set it up I was told that my free trial has already been used...? I was asked for my vin number and then told that when I purchased the car my vin number was entered incorrectly. They didnt even give me another free trial.

I recently purchased an expensive used F-350 from Alfano Hyundai. During the warranty period I found the drivers mirror was not working properly, it would not fold in like it was supposed to. Alfano originally told me since it was not a safety issue and the mirror cost over $1250 from Ford, they would not fix it under warranty. I was very unhappy with this and voiced my displeasure. In discussion with the service manager, I offered a compromise. If I could find a used mirror priced reasonably and install it myself, would they cover the cost? Supposedly after discussion with management at the dealership he came back and told me they agreed to my proposal. It took a while but I did find a mirror out of state for about the third of the cost of a new one. I installed it and sent the invoice to the dealership. They called me and I was told the service manager was no longer there and no one recalled having that discussion with him and I was told to take a hike, they would not pay. Nice real nice, blame it all on the outgoing service manager and stiff me on the cost. While my sales guy Steve was excellent, I would rate the overall dealership as a whole as very untrustworthy.

Typical sleazy dealership BS trying to take advantage of naive customers with the classic 4-square tactic (a worksheet with four separate squares for vehicle purchase price, trade-in value, down payment, and monthly payment). The 4-square method is designed to obfuscate and confuse by diverting your attention away from the purchase price. When they presented the monthly payments, it was obvious they were trying to hide several thousand dollars in their little numbers game - all the while acting like they had my best interest in mind. Dont waste your time here, buy from an honest dealership or trusted private seller. 0/10, would never buy from.

Bait and switch - As long as you are not wasting there time they dont care. Drove 45min to see a car they suddenly no longer have after confirming the car was available before I left. Sales person offered me a comparable model and trim level for over 12K more. A word to the business - if some one comes in to buy a t-shirt and you are sold out, you dont try to sell them a dress suit. you better have a ton more of different yet similar t-shirts. Know your customer.

Shopping for a new car, used car or looking for a trade can be a pleasant or horrible experience; its the American love affair with the automobile. I guess I was fortunate having the pleasure of working with Steve in sales. Steve took care of me from the pricing, to getting me the monthly payments which I was comfortable with. Everything went smoothly. Professional. I hope the service department is equally as pleasant. All the best to all shopping. Thanks.

Saw a great car for sale on their website. Checked with sales associate and was told car was available. Made an appointment to see the car and drove an hour to get there. Upon arrival, sales manager informs us that the car is "damaged" and is not for sale and then proceeds to offer us a new car, but for double the price. Total waste of our time...bait and switch dealer...dont even bother with them....terrible!!!

My boyfriend and I walked in asking for a car with manual transmission, only to discover they have zero cars on the lot with that option .. at all. We sat while our car salesman ate in the other corner, until he walked back over(food in mouth), shook our hands and said goodbye.. Will be returning to another dealership

I had a great experience yesterday at this dealership and would definitely recommend it! Bill Lewis was very helpful and made everything as easy as possible. It was my first time purchasing a new car and he made it very comfortable. John Mendela the GM was also great, they definitely took care of me!

My family and I have made a total of 4 or 5 purchases through Torrington Hyundai. Dexter is awesome!! This last purchase with a different sales rep was an awful experience and 4 months later still finding errors in the sale! The end of this lease will be the end of my business at Torrington Hyundai.
