This place is clean and has nice staff however their management is poor. I had been trying to cancel my membership after months of not going to the gym and was told that I had to go to the location to cancel and speak to a manager. I figured that it was on my way to where I work so I would just leave a few minutes early so I could cancel and each time that I stopped the manager was not at the location. The last time they said they would have the manager call me back, so I figured since he was not there during my visit that the manager would cancel over the phone. I missed his call due to being at work so I called the gym back the next day and guess what? He was not there! So I was told that I could call the Dover location and try to cancel there. I called and was told that I had to come in to cancel once again. I explained that I had already done so at the Camden location where I used the gym and purchased the membership at and that the manager was not there and seems to not be there a lot. They explained that they could not cancel over the phone once again. I then asked to speak to the owner, once I was on the phone with the owner, she explained the same thing that the membership had to be cancelled in person. I asked why? Her response was that to make sure it was me that was cancelling. I mean come on, I can apply for a loan over the internet but I cant cancel over the phone. It would not be costing anyone anything. So, I explained to her my situation and she flat out called me a liar! She said that there was no way that I could have been trying to cancel for as long as I have because there were no records or notes left stating that. So I explained to her that for one that I was going to the Camden location and that this was the first time contacting the Dover location. I also explained that I have spoke with the bank that charges the credit card for the membership and they directed me to "call" Club Fitness to cancel my membership. And once again explained that there hasnt been a manager at Camden so that I could cancel. The owner told me that there is always a manager at the gym, it just happened that yesterday he was in a meeting offsite. So I pointed out to her that he is then not always in the gym. She replied that it is a rare occasion that I manager is not in the gym. So I then asked her about the time while I was on the phone with her. I explained that there was not a manager there and her response was that he was there and that the staff did not know whether or not he was there and that he was probably doing paperwork. After going and forth for a bit, I was finally able to cancel my membership over the phone with the owner! I decided to see if the owner was correct about the manager being in the gym without the knowledge of the staff. I called Camden back and the young lady that answered the phone had checked throughout the gym to see if the manager was in and she came back and confirmed that he was not in the gym and said that she thinks that he has a doctors appointment. In the end the person that called me a liar and assumed that one of her managers was always on site and in fact has not always been on site. The customer service skills of the managers that work at Club Fitness is severely lacking in managerial skills and customer service skills! After all the headaches of trying to cancel with calling and going to Camdens gym, they ended up cancelling over the phone anyway. They put these kind of obstacles in place to try and deter people from cancelling when in fact they are perfectly capable of doing the cancellation. People have busy lives and when someone hasnt been to the gym in months it should indicate that they might not have the time to stop in especially with the gym being 25 minutes away from your home. So now if I ever get the time to start going to the gym again, it definitely will not be this place. So if you want a place to workout and will not have to worry about cancelling then you will enjoy Club Fitness.

The staff except for one is rude. The memberships change without you knowing. Just not a very welcoming place
