I started coming to the gym back in late December and very quickly fell in love with the sport of indoor rock climbing. Being in the Navy Reserves, its important that I be able to maintain a level of physical fitness that I can be ready for a deployment at any point. This sport is not for the faint at heart, but if you give it a chance, you can experience HUGE gains in stamina, endurance, upper and lower body strength and have a GREAT time doing it. Most importantly, youll be impressed by the people that are members at the gym. They will keep you going for more and more each time you go to the gym. As for the gym itself, I made it a point to attend another Gym in Norfolk VA while I was there on Active Duty and their gym is absolutely NO comparison to this gym. North Summits gym is clean, new routes are put up routinely, holds are new, but my favorite is the rubber "mulch". NO stones here folks. If you fall here, its far from the pain youd feel at other gyms utilizing stones as their fill material. I started at the gym ascending 4s --- the easiest routes available. At this point, I am starting to get comfortable climbing 7s with my first attempt at an 8 just the other day. The gym can get you in the know, learning proper ascending techniques, proper footwork, all while having a goal - get to the top. The gym allows for both beginners and experienced alike to be challenged by different routes available. All said and done - Try it out! You wont be sorry you did.

I remember just showing up with my cousin about 2 years ago just checking the place out.... we got hooked. The staff is great, members are friendly, and overall the gym is very positive. Music selection at times is questionable (may make you want to fall asleep). Because its a smaller a gym they do switch routes up so membership is encouraged. As the owner will tell you his secret to the place. Buy holds and set routes. The shop is excellent as well so you can try some gear before you buy with expert advice. Pro-tip: Hang around for boulder league after new year. Its intended to bring in new climbers with a handicap system. I met some great people and had some great times. Nice thing about boulder league, you one have to show up once a week to participate whenever the gym is open to work with your schedule. Downside to the gym, its a hike to get there depending on where you live. Its worth ignoring the Doylestown gym and the Reading gym however.

The person who answers the phone is dumb as dirt. I called an scheduled for a party for my wife earlier last week, gave my credit card and all for the deposit. Got a call today saying there was a "discrepancy" and the time slot they offered me was already taken. There are no other options for that day and that is the only day my wife has off that weekend. I hung up to figure things out and when I called back so finally admitted that she just didnt see the other party in their calendar or some bull crap. Also she gave me lip when I said "its been how many days and I could have scheduled to plan something else now, and now my back is up against the wall"....to which she replied "its been 3 days". I will never go here simply just because of what an awful experience it has been over the phone and losing my party that I scheduled due to incompetent workers. TL;DR, dont schedule a party here because the person on the phone cant even read. What a joke.

This place has a lot of different routes and lots of angles. It accommodates from inexperienced climbers to experienced climbers up to about a 5.11. staff are amazing experienced climbers. Overall its a great place to hang out until a guy with tattoos claimed the business would be going out of business soon and how he knows more than everybody there put together. Thats the only attitude I didnt like. So if you go you might want to go when hes not around unless you like arrogant people.

A fantastic rock climbing gym with routes/problems that are updated on a weekly basis in addition to the fact that they actually clean their holds! While these are fantastic points, what really sets this climbing gym apart is it dedicated members & staff, who are incredibly welcoming and extremely helpful regardless if you are a pro or a first time climber! Everyone that visits once, quickly calls this gym “home”.

Great staff. Welcoming atmosphere. Nice gym. We had a great time, and plan to return soon. A great place for children to learn as well! The staff was really supportive of our boys first time climbing. They alone sell the place, but the gym is also a great little spot for beginners or seasoned climbers. I would recommend to anyone without hesitation.

The staff and owner are very helpful and friendly (not the elitists you find at a lot of gyms), the setting is phenomenal and is rotated often, there is something new to work on almost every week, the grading is generally tough but is realistic and comparable to outdoor climbing. Go here, you wont be disappointed!

While North Summit may not have an extensive wall, it has incredible problems that change frequently and everyone is so nice!! The only negative would be the shredded tire floor without crash pads anywhere. Overall though an incredible gym!!

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. My experience there makes me want to go rock climbing all the time! I love the map of different routes. I wish I had a gym like this closer to where I live now. I would 100% buy a membership.

Great gym run by climber for climbers. Friendly people always willing to help out the beginner. You will be able to learn and grow as a climber. As your skill improves, so do the level of the climbs. Great lead roping area.
