took my vehicle there to get an oil change and a check engine light check, now while most places would tell you that your check engine light is this or that just to make a buck I was told that my check engine light was on do to being in needed of the oil change I was like way over do, therefore there was nothing else wrong with my vehicle other then that. thankfully . they also went on to replace the bulbs over my license plate so I didnt get pulled over and given a ticket. this is definitely the place to take your car to get it fixed and an honest mechanic. this also isnt my only great experience with them, I was told I needed a hub for my other vehicle at which time I took it to get an estimate with my car on the lift I was called out to the garage and showed that my tire wasnt moving the way it would if I needed a hub so they looked into it further refusing to sell me a hub until they test drove it and confirmed it was the hub. again they could have sold me a hub just to make a buck but they didnt Great Job ill see you on the next oil change!

This business gets ZERO stars. First, after calling NUMEROUS tow companies and being advised that, if a vehicle is towed for a routine traffic stop, suspended license, etc., the tow fee is, typically, $175 for the tow, plus $50 per day storage. Fred Drake, however, charges the following: $175.00 for the tow $50.00 per "calendar day" for storage (so even though the vehicle has been there for just over 12 hours, the charge will be for TWO DAYS $45.00 "gate fee" $35.00 "administrative fee" $25.00 "fuel surcharge" To say the above charges are ridiculous and opportunistic would be a monumental understatement. I would avoid this business at any and all costs (or it will cost you plenty).

Bad..never posted a bad review, never had to...but try to stay away from this guy...he tow my 07 mazda from an accident front and back bumper got ruined, and tires too...I ask for estimate they said they were gonna call me back, never did and still charge for day it stayed during the estimate...then I ask what were the fee over the phone, they keep adding charges they couldnt even explain and hang up every time I ask for them...Fred told me it was gonna be over 12k to fix bumpers, not including tires, then he offered me 500 for the car and call it even...wtf!!! I just took my car and fix everything for $2500 in a shop in georgetown...Im a try to stay away from this bunch of thiefs

I was in an accident fearing my car was going to be towed away to an unknown place. I asked if Fred Drake Automotive could tow my car. The EMT told me that is where my car was heading. I was so relieved. A few days later I saw my vehicle, it had been kept safe and my stuff was all inside!! I have continued to use Fred Drake referring friends and family. Thank you for taking care of not only me but all the people I have referred. Everyone has agreed you are the best kept secret that we have to share!!

I am all for a company making an honest profit but I think $317 is a little extreme for an Oil Change and Fuel Filter change even if it is a ford diesel and requires 4 gals of oil!! They did deliver my truck to me because I could not make it to their facility by closing time. However, they called me at 1030am saying the work was done and told me they would drop my truck off. They showed up at my house at 5pm with the truck. Dont think they will be getting any repeat business from me

Ive been bringing my car here for service ever since I bought it (brand new). I have ALWAYS been accommodated and the Drakes have always taken great care of me and my vehicle. They have saved me money by educating me about the timing in which I have my services done and have explained when I should exercise urgency versus being mindful of what types of services my vehicle has ahead. Great shop. Clean, friendly, strong coffee and most importantly: HONEST!

I am completely disgusted and disappointed with Fred Drake, because Ive got work done with them before and did business and all that in the past. But i took my car there to check a transmission fluid leak and they told me i i had to replace my lines and a couple other lies that would cost $553. i did not believe them at all so I took my car to BENCHMARK TRANSMISSIONS and got my problem fixed for $60. I will never do business with Fred Drake again!

I took my car to Drake automotive for brakes, oil change and in search of the cause of an "unknown sound." The service was great, they didnt try to oversell me on the brake job and they discovered the source of the annoying sound! I had a mouse storing popcorn kernels in my cabin filter! We love taking our vehicles to Fred Drake Automotive. They make sure our cars are well maintained. Recently we had a car in for routine maintenance and asked them to order a part for a running light we needed to fix. We were willing to bring the car back to have the part put on. They took care of it on that first visit. Now that is great customer service!

These guys are great! I drive down from North Wilmington for their auto services because I trust them and they always do a great job. I was rear ended a few years back and they did a great job with the repairs. Now, my license plate light went out (4 years later) and they took care of it right away with great/friendly service. Highly recommended

Recently had my car fixed at Fred Drake Automotive. They were excellent. The customer service is top notch. They diagnosed my car and then let me know what the cost would be. Not sure what happened to my last negative post but its gone. Charged me 580. 00 to tow my truck 3 miles. Towed at 1130 pm picked up by 10 am charged me two days and a lot of extra charges. Do not trust them . No justification just because they have a lic to steal.
