When two of my most discerning friends told me to use "Agent Lindsay" Dreyer to buy my first home, I knew she had to be good. I wanted to get in before the deadline for the tax credit and our timing was short. Lindsay MET and EXCEEDED every expectation I had for my real estate agent. I have now been in my condo for almost 2 months and could not be happier! Here are a few highlights: ACCESSIBLE. Lindsay made herself available whenever I needed her (even Easter Sunday to view a property before an open house because I was convinced it was my "dream condo" after seeing pictures online). She always responded quickly to emails and texts and kept me apprised of everything I needed to know as we went. FUN. Buying a home is stressful. Being with Lindsay is not! She is fun to be with, down to earth and real. Her outgoing personality makes her easy to talk to and she doesnt have that fake/shiny thing going on I see with a lot of agents. "GOT" ME. It didnt take long for Lindsay to really understand what I was looking for -- even when I wasnt exactly sure. Because of this, we didnt waste time looking at properties that were out of my league or I wouldnt like. TECH SAVVY. Lindsays knowledge of technology made it so easy to work with her. From e-signatures, to web listings, she simplified the home buying process and I could do most of the paperwork digitally -- without having to visit her office all of the time. EXCELLENT JUDGEMENT. When a crisis occurred a week before my closing, I was on vacation. Lindsay knew that there was nothing I could do to fix the problem and decided not to tell me (so I wouldnt freak out and would enjoy my time off). She successfully pulled every string she could while I was away and I closed on time! I didnt learn about all the chaos until my final walk through -- but Im pretty sure Lindsay didnt get much sleep that week (but I did!). GREAT TEACHER. I am not an idiot, but I didnt know much about real estate at all going into it. Lindsay simplified the process so I could understand and feel ownership over an otherwise bewildering experience! I am now the one teaching my friends about it. HONEST. The place I ended up buying was overpriced according to Lindsay, but I really loved it and wanted to put in an offer. She helped me figure out an appropriate counter offer and was realistic about the pros and cons of the properties we viewed. SMART. Lindsay clearly knows what she is doing and is a sophisticated negotiator. GREAT NETWORK. Her network of lenders, contractors, etc. are wonderful and I was pleased with everyone she introduced me to. When she didnt know someone I needed personally, she would go out of her way to find someone.

Executive Summary: I had one conversation with Lindsay Dryer, during which she was extremely rude, condescending and insulting. I left the conversation feeling deflated, discouraged and disgusted. If you are searching for a positive, friendly, encouraging agent and do not have a million dollars stashed under your mattess - Lindsay Dryer is not the agent for you. Detailed Review: I do not come from a rich family. I moved to the US from the Caribbean 11 years ago for school. After earning an undergraduate and masters degree - both on full academic scholarship - and gaining several years of great work experience which took me to some fantastic places in Europe, Asia, and Africa, I landed my dream job here in DC a few years ago and decided to make this my home. I have saved, though hard work and sacrifice, a significant downpayment and been pre-qualifed for a decent mortgage. Once I made the decision to start seriously looking, I contacted City Chic after reading a few glowing reviews online and was put in touch with Lindsay. Although her voice inflections may sound positive, in only a few minutes, Lindsay managed to crush my dreams of home ownsership. She reminded me that in my budget, I would be competing with investors and "wealthy young people whose parents who gave them $50,000 for a downpayment" and that finding what Im looking for "would not be easy" and she doesnt want to make promises she cant keep. She made it very clear that she only wants to deal with "easy" clients who were born with silver spoons in their mouths and have cash to burn. I saved that much all on my own, with no help from anyone, and she flatly refused to represent me. After reading some other reviews about Lindsay specifically, I see that she may have been burned by disappointing past clients but Lindsay - a word of advice; find another way to get out of it that doesnt involve telling potential clients that they are basically too poor to be your client. And since we are pointing things out...Id like to point out that, in refusing to help me, you also refuse to help everyone I know. I might not be an easy client, but I am a young, upwardly mobile woman in my early 30s with many many friends who have started looking or will do so very soon. Just this week Ive been asked by at least 8 people how my home search has been going and whether or not Ive found a good realtor. Rest assured I have been very candid about my experience with you.

My fiancé and I moved to the DC area last November. After about 6 months of paying way too much money for our 800 square foot apartment we decided it would be more financially responsible to buy a house. I found Melissa Terzis through a search on the internet. She responded to my email request immediately by calling me on the phone to get a general idea of what we were looking for. Immediately I could tell that I liked her and we wanted to move forward with her helping us along the way. Since we were not familiar with the area and the DC market, Melissa patiently helped us narrow down different areas based on our needs and wants. Of course my wants and needs were slightly different than my fiancés. Our house search took 6 months and we were beginning to feel deflated, exhausted, and frustrated. DC real estate we realized was tough!!!! We were competing with cash offers and people that were willing to pay way over what the property would get appraised for. I was ready to take a LONG break and just pay our “expensive rent.” Melissa never gave up and would call, email, and text us to answer questions, pep us up, or help us think outside the box. Bottom line Melissa genuinely cares and will do anything in her power to get a house that will work for you. She made sure we didn’t settle or overpay and sure enough we found the house that we love. Melissa held our hands every step of the way even after we closed. After closing we decided we wanted to renovate the kitchen in our home. We ran into a slight problem with our contractor. Melissa (without asking) helped us by contacting our inspection company. The owner of the inspection company came by and gave us the advice we needed to get our situation with the contractor resolved. We consider her not only our real estate agent, but our friend. We would highly, without a doubt recommend her to anyone in this area that is interested in buying a house. In fact we already did about a month before we closed. She is down to earth and a breath of fresh area, which is sometimes very difficult to find especially in a new area. We are actually hoping (since she is now looking) that she buys a house close to us in downtown Silver Spring.
