Gist Family Catering has the worst service I have ever come across. During the holidays we have office parties and decided to use Gist. The first year we used them we told them to be there by 12pm and they showed up over an hour late. Trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, this year we decided to give them another try in hopes that they would give better service. Our office party was at 12:30 so to be on the safe side we set it up for them to be here by 11:30, only for 11:30 to pass without them calling to let us know they were running late. An hour later we call only to find out that one(all) of the incompetent workers misplaced our invoice and they couldnt find it and had no record of it. It is terrible that after multiple phone calls about the event with Gist and being given a total price for our menu we are told we dont have an order because they cant find our invoice, on the day of our event! Then to top it off they have nasty attitudes and are unapologetic as well. Whatever you do save yourself the hassle and do not patronize them. They are the worst!

If I could give this company no stars, I would. I contacted Gist on a Tuesday regarding a party I was hosting that Saturday. I requested 3 options from their cookout menu and I was quoted a price. I agreed to the price and confimed the order. I received a call that Thursday with a voicemail requesting that I call to confirm my order--I felt this was odd since I had already done so. I called back and I was advised that there was an error in the calculation of the price and that I would have to pay $150 more! I argued that it is not good business practice to call someone 2 days before their event and change the price. I was hung up on. I called back several times and no answer. I used another phone and someone promptly picked up. I was advised that the best they could do was a small discount. I was not happy and asked to speak with the owner--all of this information had apparently come from the owner, but she was conveniently unavailable. My event has passed and still have not received a call back.

On the recommendation of a friend, I used Gist to cater an event in 2006. Had no problem. Delivery was on time and all of my guests raved about how good the food was. Then, four years later when I tried to use them again. I went twice to the building, that according to their sign on the door should have been opened but wasnt, and although on the second attempt I could see people inside and they could see me, but no one came to the door. I tried phoning the place and left 3 or 4 messages to no avail. When someone eventually returned my call, it was weeks beyond the date of the event I had planned. Judging by the reviews I see posted, it looks like nothing has changed. Thats unfortunate.

Best cooking around! There peach cobbler is amazing! Matter fact EVERYTHING is amazing! There prices are a little expensive but there always willing to work with you. I use them for all of my family gatherings and everything is always on time and precise.

Used them for two funeral repasts. They are reliable and the food is always good with generous portions provided. On one occasion the fried chicken was overcooked/slightly dry.
