We have been taking our children to The Village ELC since 2011, starting in the Infants room. As a speech-language pathologist, my job took me to various preschools in the area over many years, and, while many were great, The Village ELC was exceptional. It was clear that they went above and beyond for the children by always providing me with a place to work with them and making sure that they greeted me by name in each classroom (something that did not always happen everywhere else.) I typically worked in the staff lounge area and never saw any of the staff come in with negative words or attitudes while I was there. The children were met with positive words and actions and the staff was very supportive of my position there and made that clear to the children. When I knew that I would need childcare for my baby in 2011, I knew that it had to be at The Village and I have not been disappointed since. The teachers are knowledgeable, caring, and nudge the children toward achieving independence in a caring way (such as using sippy cups, understanding how to cut with scissors, toileting, dressing, etc.) When there are issues (which have been few), the administration, teachers, and parents work together to figure out what can be done to solve the problem. Additionally, The Village ELC puts a lot of thought into their nutritional program, outside areas, and community life. Lunches and snacks are healthy and my kids will eat things there that they wont even try at home. They have several outside, age appropriate play areas, where the kids get to spend plenty of time, including a garden play and learning area for the older students. Inside, there is a "Piazza" which is set up like a miniature town, where students go to develop various skills. The Village ELC also allows and/or provides outside access to extracurriculur activities such as dance, soccer, swimming, and gymnastics throughout the year and/or summer at an additional cost. Also throughout the year, there are some special after-hours events, some in conjunction with the parent group, The Village Family Foundation, that are wonderful and free or low-cost. These include a big Fall/Halloween event, family picnics, Winter Festival/Show day, Bedtime with Books, International Festival, and a garden party. Academically, The Village ELC more than prepared my son for Kindergarten. My daughter loves to go there for preschool and tries to hide from my husband when it is time to go home. Both kids have learned all the basic skills that are expected by Kindergarten these days, along with the necessary social skills to succeed in a classroom. The experiences that are offered here are beyond what most schools in the area are doing, as far as I am aware. Overall, I have sent two kids to The Village ELC since 2011 and have had experiences there since 2009 and am very pleased. While The Village ELC is a business, administration, teachers, and other parents make it feel more like a "village" experience, where there truly is support for you and your child!

Moving to Valrico area there were a lot of choices for us as far as daycare. I did my research, promise you. I set up interviews with several locations and off we went. What was important to us were books, toys, time spent learning new things, activities, parents involvement. The schools we interviewed were good enough, all have activities. But none of them beat The Village. At The Village, there is actually a VILLAGE kids visit daily where they pretend play in a car shop, grocery store, doctor’s office, a pet shop. Brilliant!!! Every room is full of toys and books, kids go outside several times a day. But most important thing is that the parents are involved. The Village has a facebook page to keep the parents informed of the activities planned. Parent Advisory Council meets on a regular basis to discuss festivals, fundraisers, bedtime with books, etc. It is an amazing school. You will love it.

We searched long and hard and spoke to many people before making our final decision to put out son at The Village. I could not be happier with our decision. He is currently in the Preschool room and they are fantastic. They keep me informed of what he is doing every day which is great for communicating with our son. We also wanted to check to see how he was transitioning to his new school and they sat down with us and went over their concerns, created an action plan and a follow up meeting. Since joining the school I have seen a huge improvement academically which was the main reason we chose to move from our previous school. Not to mention the amount of activities the school offers. My sons room and playground are always kept clean and tidy and I see them being cleaned every day when I pick him up. We are very happy with our choice and the improvements our son has made.

My daughter has attended for almost a year. She started in the ones with Ms. kristal and Ms. Johanna and now she is in the twos with Ms. Claudia. Her teachers have been amazing and have helped my daughter grow. She loves it. I have gotten two teacher conferences this year with both groups. They went over all of her mile stones and recommended things to improve. They made goals for school to help her. They also have an app to see my daughters daily activities and I get pictures every day. The school has cameras and entrance code. The school is clean and food is healthy (varies every day). The school is small and space is limited, but its worth it. My daughter has transitioned with some of the same kids from her previous class, which is great for her. I like the staff and security measures are great. I would recommend this school to my family and friends.

Cant say enough good things. As new parents, we werent too sure what to look for in a daycare provider, outside of the obvious: clean, secure, within our budget. Now that our one son has been there for over two years and our new son started back in March, we can say that The Village so much more than just clean, secure and within our budget. Our older son has learned an unbelievable amount. Hes engaged and excited about going to school every day. Our younger son is extremely well cared for and nearly jumps out of our arms when he sees his teachers in the morning. All of the teachers (even the ones who dont have our kids on a daily basis) are involved, approachable, attentive to our specific needs and know us and our children by name. We have been very happy with The Village and would highly recommend them to anyone.

I highly recommend the Village. My daughter went there from about 6 months old until almost 8 years old. (We moved away last month and that is the only reason she is not still there). We have always had the most kind, patient and caring teachers. She has learned so much not only during her preschool years, but also during the summer camps. My daughter loved going there and hated it if I picked her up early. The owner, Susan, is accessible and easy to talk to. I am in the process of finding my daughter an afterschool program here and I hope I can find a place that cares for her the way the staff at the Village did. Highly recommend.

We have been very happy with our experience at The Village. We have a now 7 year old who started with The Village when he was 4, a few months before VPK. This was our first experience with daycare and have not been disappointed. We love the extra activities that they are able to offer. We have been more than pleased with the adventure club program for school aged children. They are out doing field trips on most days and being active in the community or doing very hands on activities when at the center. We love all of the staff. We have always felt that the staff is very approachable and willing to work with families as needed.
