I hate giving bad reviews but I am completely heartbroken. I had engagement pictures scheduled in a month, a family cruise in two weeks and an important business trip in one. I ALWAYS get my hair colored slightly darker for winter, and I always get fringed bangs. I have recently moved and was tiered of making the trek to my normal salon so I decided to try Salon West after I saw a few good reviews and saw their pricey hair service list. Let me start from the beginning, this was the THIRD time I had gotten my hair done at Salon West by Cindy Clark. The first time I had full foils done on my very long hair. I stressed the importance of keeping my hair length the same so she merely trimmed the back. The highlights came out great. The second time I got a partial foil and asked for about an inch (one or two finger width lengths) taken off. I showed her where I wanted my hair to end up on my body. The foils were once again impeccable and my hair was about five to six inches shorter than when I walked in. I cried all day and was so sad every time I looked in the mirror. However, the haircut was fantastic. It grew out for five months without losing its form. Had I stopped here, I would of given Cindy and this salon four stars. Every hairdresser gets scissor happy, right? But no, I couldnt just stop. About five months after my way too short haircut, I go in for my usual winter makeover. I bring the same pictures I always do of how Id like my hair color to look and of how it looked last time I did it. This time I told her, I dont want it as auburn, can we do a light brown maybe with some red undertone. I also showed countless pictures of how I wanted my bangs and of how they have previously looked. There was one picture, one with bluntly cut bangs and I only showed that for color purposes. However, she seemed to only see the bangs. I wish I would of taken pictures of my hair when I walked out of that salon. It was the most unattractive shade of RED I have ever seen on my head.. or anyone else. She must of noticed because she said "there is definitely some red, but I dont think anyone would go as far as to call you a redhead. Dont worry we can brown it out." This was before it was dry and I had the chance to see the color. She then started to cut my bangs after simply trimming the back of my hair, she did not trim the front or anything else. Thankfully my mom was there or I would of ended up with half of my hair as bangs. Still she cut the bangs too thick and to wide and all the hair that frames my face is now cut too. The cut is identical to a the front of a mullet or bowl cut. I am usually confident enough to try and make any and every hairstyle work, as I like to change it up, but a BAD haircut can not be worn. I called in when I got home to say that I could not stand the color and was schedule for the next day. I came in with puffy eyes from crying after everyone who looked at me just had that sad look of pity in their eyes. I said, put a golden brown, or only brown in my hair so I can get rid of most of the red. I know that no matter what we do, the red will be there. My hair is now medium to dark brown, and I am talking "salon shades" and it only reflects the color RED. My bangs will be pinned back until they grow out enough to either get them done right or all the way. I have had to cancel my engagement photoshoot which I can not get my money back for and am now dreading our cruise as I will be stuck with a lion mane that is way too dark for my very ivory skin. All in all, please notice the clientele when you pick a salon. Cindy may be just find for someone with short hair who does not look for color treatment. The average age of this salon seems to be 45+ and as I am 21 this should of been the first flag. Every experience will be different and a new salon is always a roll of the dice. I hope that this review can help someone avoid the misery of a bad haircut and color.

This was my first time ever going to a salon. My hair its long and was a honey blonde. I.wanted something different and wanted to get a very light blonde to platinum blonde and wanted it cut slightly in the front. I knew it was going to be pricey and was willing to pay any amount to get the result I wanted. I specifically told the girl at the counter how much anxiety I had about my hair done and she explained to me how they ran on a system of levels. For instance if you want a budget cut your get a level one. Its cheaper and your stylists experience is lower. (So if u want crappy hair its cheAper?) They told me I had a level 3. k was her name. Everyone was pretty nice then. I told the lady what I wanted. ( me bring my first time ever and a push over she told me that I couldnt get that and I believed her. I specifically asked her if she could get it extremely lighter than it was she said yes that it v world be (a least 6-7 shades lighter). I was there 3 hours while she put foils in my hair. Finally she took me into a back room where another girl shaped shampooed my hair then put me under they hair dryer. The hair dryer shut off then I.waited there 25 mins without anyone coming over to me while my stylist colored someone elses hair. Finally she came and got me then Sat me down put toner in my hair someone else washed out my hair and I went back.to get. She acted annoyed and started blow drying my.hair. I talked too her earlier about cutting my hair in front a certain way and I asked her about that again then she acted annoyed again then finally agreed to just trimming my hair. I was there 4 hours and when I left my hair was the same color and hair a streak of white in the back. I was upset about that and and I.paid 207$and tipped 35$ long story short i got in contact with the manager. He contacted me and scheduled me to go to the clearwater location to get it fixed no charge.I.agreed . I.went there . They got my hair slightly lighter than a honey blonde they took me to the back put some protein stuff in my hair then took.me to dry it. 2different girls dried my.hair then took me to the front to pay. They charged me,38$ just to dry my hair and then25 for the protein which no.one the whole time said anything about charging me. So in the end I still didnt get what I wanted and had to pay even extra money to "fix" what they did in the first place and still dont have what I wanted. I.Will not be returning.

I definitely give Somers 5 stars. They are definitely the best spa around the area and probably one of the best spas I have ever been to period. I have been a customer there for about a year or 2 now, and Iove it! They really make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Jamie gives the most incredible facials of all time! I had facials from several different places/people and after Jamie I would never go to anyone else. She really makes you feel relaxed and comfortable and really helps with whatever skin issues you are having. Best facial I have ever had! I go to Terie to get my nails done and she is fabulous. I get "Gel overlays" done by her and they look and feel fantastic. She really takes her time and makes them look just how you want. I get compliments on my nails all the time and they really are great. Not only does she do a fabulous job with my nails, she makes you feel like youre more than just a "client", she is very friendly and again makes you feel very comfortable. Besides the great services they have, their customer service is outstanding from the time you are greeted when you walk in to the time you check out and leave. If you are looking for a "stress relieving day" or even a place to get your hair or nails done, Somers is definitely the place to go, and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!
