This was our 4th trip to Playa del Carmen and that ALL of our previous trips were great, with top-notch accommodations at stellar resorts - AND WE ARRANGED ALL THE TRIPS ON OUR OWN WITHOUT THE USE OR COST OF A TRAVEL AGENT. One of the members of our party viewed photos of our destination and chose it because of what he saw. Obviously, no one at Travel By Ginny checked out this place or theyd have known that the photos were nothing like the actual place they sent us! In THIS case, our trip cost us nearly triple what wed paid on previous trips to to Riviera Maya; and our visit this time, was nothing short of a DISASTER! (Tip: AVOID THE SANDOS ECO RESORT because Eco doesnt have a thing to do with ecology; it means ECONOMY! Trust me!) THIS DUMP was the VERY WORST weve EVER experienced thanks to the uninformed & uncaring travel agent! We couldnt WAIT to FLEE the Mexican dump where we were trapped! Wish wed never bothered because NOW we need a REAL vacation after all the stress! After taking 3 hours to check-in we arrived in our 3 rooms and felt like wed been sentenced to prison! We found dilapidated furnishings, dirty bed linens, mold in the bathrooms, filthy toilets, broken lights that and a subpar A/C. THIS is what Travel By Ginny deems a resort? We decided to make the best of it since we had no other options and had already paid the travel agent. Later that night the A/C stopped working at ALL. It was hotter IN our room than OUTSIDE! We went to the front desk to speak to a manager about getting different rooms. When we got to the front desk, we found two couples complaining about their rooms too! THIS WAS WHEN WE KNEW THINGS WOULDNT GET BETTER. I called Travel By Ginny. The reason for this trip was bc one of the people in our party of 7 wanted to swim with whale sharks, an excursion trip booked for us by Travel By Ginny long before we ever arrived in Mexico. Imagine our surprise when we called to confirm our pickup time for the excursion and were told the company had previously notified our travel agent that theyd CANCELLED the trip entirely! The travel agent, Judy, thought it best to not pass on this little tidbit and so we blindly went to Mexico. Imagine roaches crawling across floors of restaurants; peacocks & feral animals wandering in the outdoor dining areas, literally eat from the food buffet as guests sidestep animal poop in the seating areas; watered down drinks; NO washcloths in the rooms; a shower bar that fell from the wall and hit me in the head; a toilet & sink that leaked; a non-working room phone; a room that had the acrid odor of a mixture of sewage and mold.... THIS is what Travel By Ginny considers a resort???? My DOGs accommodations at the kennel were better than where we stayed - and SHE had AC! I gave Travel By Ginny the benefit of the doubt, since they KNEW about all this, and have waited 2 months to see if they offered a partial refund for the trip they didnt provide.....but, NO; not a word, not a partial credit, not an apology of any kind. As a business owner for 27+ years, I can tell you that THIS is not how to build goodwill and not how to ensure repeat business. We wont be back.

Daphne, the owner at Travel by Ginny, is always amazing! I have been using this agency for years now and theyre always on top of everything. I am a last minute planner because I am never sure when I can get away. I will usually walk in on a Friday and ask to get away on a Sunday! They always manage to take care of me. This time it was to get me into a hotel in St. Augustine over the holiday weekend when everything was booked up. Last time, it was airfare and hotel to a Greek island. A week before I was looking to depart in mid-October when the season was over for all of the islands, she found me a beautiful place to stay in Rhodes, knowing that this island was further south and remained warmer a couple more weeks longer. She talked the resort owner into staying open for just me and my mom! Its not worth the deals you think youre getting booking yourself online. I am not suggesting you put them to the test as severely as I do with the last minute plans. I can only imagine what wonders they could do if I gave them weeks to plan! Hotels, resorts, airlines, cruises, guided tours - anything! Come to Travel by Ginny first. Thank you Daphne!

Over the years we have been on several cruises and land trips. Judy from Travel By Jenny always took great care of us. There were a couple of trips that had problems and she jumped right in and helped us resolve them. One of the trips was an airline cancellation to Alaska. We lost a day and a half. Judy arranged to have a 52 foot bus pick the four of us and join us with our tour group. While arriving in Italy, our airport to hotel transportation tried to charge us when Judy had already made the payment. She helped us resolve this. We were on a two week greek cruise when the airlines failed to forward my luggage. It arrived back at my home the day after I returned from the cruise. Judy tried her best to retrieve my luggage, but the airlines were not cooperative. Another flight to Europe was cancelled out of Atlanta and Judy was able to find us another flight. We do plan to do more traveling and will definitely have Judy handle our travel arrangements.

Travel by Ginny gets my vote for Best in Brevard!!! I have used their services many times through the years and have never failed to be impressed. They always go above and beyond to ensure an exceptional traveling experience for their clients. I was particularly impressed by the service that both Judy and Daphne provided during our recent hurricane. Because of the storm, I was forced to cancel my trip at the last minute. I had travel insurance, but the cruise line that we had booked with became very difficult to deal with --wanting to deny my claim. Daphne spent hours on the phone dealing with the cruise line; and I received my refund that very day. I simply cant sing their praises loudly enough! I would encourage anyone who is making travel plans to use the services of Travel by Ginny!

Do not use this company if you want your trip to be done correctly!! Judy messed up my airline tickets coming back, booked us in a hotel with only a king bed knowing full well that there were 3 of us and had our hotel and rental car booked at premium prices. I cancelled everything and redid it myself and saved hundreds of dollars. When I tried to talk to her she was rude and would not fix any of her many mistakes. Worst service ever!!!

They have always booked us the right hotel for our needs. Additionally they were very knowledgeable about the areas we were traveling to and attractions we might want to visit.
