Poor experience and would not put 1 star. (1) This shop stereo types the African American female. The first thing the owner says to her african american customers is you are too pretty, are you sure you are not Latino? Really? Red Flag. (2) The owner talks too much and too loud. I started to walk out, but kept up with my observation of her interaction with people coming in and out. (3) The owner makes rude comments about people who come in to inquire about her salon prices. She told me and other customers "that woman comes in everyday asking for pricing" Well, if you put the prices up, no one would need to ask! I saved the best for last: Beware all African Americans who would like to obtain a blow-out This shop does not understand the texture of the african american hair and stereotype it by putting the heat on highest heat...she burnt off a big amount of my daughters hair and charged her for the horrible experience. Not! I demanded a refund on my daughters behalf. The man behind the counter immediately refunded, but Esmeralda had attitude and said oh its nothing" as if she is use to burning people hair off!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SALON. THIS WAS MY FIRST AND LAST EXPERIENCE! IT IS MY DUTY TO WARN YOU!

I have to refute what I just read. Im 100% African American and I have been following this ladies since 2006 until the owner open this salon in 2014. I have been getting my hair done there for over 9 years. She (Agueda) lays my natural hair where its smooth and silky. She does a GREAT job and as a Dominican hairstylist this is what I expect. The environment there is very familiar and we ALL enjoy spending time with them. There is NOT any discrimination against race, ethnicity or languages. They are professionals enough to treat everybody the same way. If you are looking for a clean, professional, friendly and not expensive place I recommend this salon without any hesitation. Enjoy them.

I love the salon my hair is very curly and coarse and I have a very hard time finding a place that can straighten my hair without frying it and The salon owner did a phenomenal job with my hair. She gave me a deep conditioner to help with the damages that was done to my hair before and gave me a haircut with a hair dry. And left my hair silky and smooth I love my hair and I would recommend this location in a heartbeat. Shes quick and efficient. And I didnt have to wait I made an appointment and I was sitting in her chair right on time. She knows what shes doing and she lets you know what you have to do to get your hair back to where it needs to be. Its an amazing place!

I love going to Esmeralda Salon, its they only place in Davenport that can do my hair correctly. The owner is awesome doing hair. I have recommended her to all my friends and they had loved the way she works. I dont understand why people are so mean that they have to write negative review.
