Ive always been a bit insecure about myself and the way I look, but I love makeup and doing my hair and all that good stuff. I went into Ulta because I had broke my powder foundation and I was also given a gift card to them for my birthday. Ive been struggling with money lately so I was pretty excited to get some new makeup. I went in and was greeted by two girls who worked there even though they were helping other customers at the time. I found my way to the Urban Decay foundation wondering what I was going to choose, until one of the girls who was finished helping another customer walked over to me and asked if I needed help and if I was doing okay. Her name was Marianne and she was very sincere and genuine. I told her that because my summer tan is fading away Im not sure what color my skin tone was. So she gladly tested some of the products on my face seeing what my color was. She then had me sit down in the chair and showed my some of the products that I should be interested in. She applied them on to my face then held the mirror up for me, I was blown away. I decided that I was going to get the two products she used and I was super excited. Usually I feel guilty when I splurge and get expensive things, but this was a must do. I have never seen my foundation look that good. Well she walked me straight up to the register and asked if I wanted to be a rewards member and explained to me all the benefits of being one. I gladly said yes and now here I am. She made such an impact on me I left that store so happy and I still am a day later. Marianne made that experience. She made me feel confident and beautiful and I couldnt be more thankful.

Just recently I started dropping by the west gate plazas ulta. Whenever there, me and my boyfriend stops in Ulta on occasions spending a hour or so looking around at the cosmetics. Upon entering the store we are given dirty looks, not just by employees but managers. As well as being watched and followed around by workers, even laughed at when looking at them. Today when in the store my boyfriend and I was in the fragrance section, in the aisle behind the kalvein Klein fragrance, down that same aisle on the west side of the store (lol forgot what cosmetic brand was in that area) stood a worker staring at us. Not long after while looking at stick highlights the same worker, standing about 5 ft away stared at us. Standing in the center but end up the aisle. This is not the first occasion we have been followed around/watched by a employee causing us to feel uncomfortable with being there long. Though having these experiences, I still decide to stop by due to my passion of makeup also with this store being quite close to my house. I currently do not have a car after a accident which leaves me to visiting this location.

I went to browse around and maybe get some lipstick. I happened across the Essence section and decided to give it a try because the lipsticks were on sale for $1.79 and the nail polish was $0.99. When I checked out she told me $21 which is surprising because I expected $10. When I told her there was a sale sign she just shrugged her shoulders and said it must only be certain products. Normally when that happens they double check but I wasnt in the mood to pursue the issue because my 1 and a 1/2 year old was screaming throwing a temper tantrum because we were leaving. When I double checked online when I got home youll never believe but I was right, they were on sale. So now I have to go back and cross my fingers I dont get a snooty woman again.

I had a major haircut from 10+ inches to super short up to my neck and I am so grateful for Red. She is the best and only hair stylist I will ever go to again. She makes me feel comfortable and never cuts more than I ask. Red is wonderful and I recommend her 100%! Thanks again :)

Absolutely revolting how me and other non-white customers are treated. Was overlooked twice by two different white employees based off out skin color. Avoid the tall manly white "lady" with blonde hair. Avoid this place if you arent white.

The only thing I can think of that I like about this store is that it has more clearance items then the others. Sales associates ignore you and are not helpful at all. I would rather drive to one further away then go here. Sad.
