Unfortunately I was needing some work done on my 1991 one ton GMC and thought a dealer would be the best place for good parts and service. This was my worst experience in 56 yrs. and no Im not new to vehicle mechanical work, have done my own work with all my vehicles all my life. Oct 10th 2013 I had steel to steel noise when applying brakes. Made appointment with Eagle GMC and later got a call from them about what they found. Ended up having to replace most everything regarding the brakes (drums, rotors, shoes, pads,etc.). I went down and looked at the parts and gave them the OK. Following day they called and truck was ready. I picked it up and paid the $2,400 bill. As I drove 3 miles home I was shocked to feel how the truck handled, terrible vibration from 30 - 45 mph and then from 50 - 65. Brakes felt like they hadnt been bleed properly and the peddle would go half way to floor before grabbing and this was worse than when I brought it in to begin with. It was now end of day Friday, so had to wait until Monday to contact them. Monday I called service and brought the truck in. After a very short inspection they told me brakes were normal and vibration was from a brand new tire on right front. On the lift they spun it and told me it was defective and due to being a brand name they didnt like. I explained several times as I watched that I didnt see a lamination issue in the tire, but they insisted it was. As I talked to the mechanic he explained that after doing the complete brake work he test drove it. He was totally shocked that I was able to drive this with the vibration from TN to Crystal River recently. Was told they would check prices to replace both front tires and get back to me. Finally by the next day and not hearing from them I went to a tire shop and had front tires replaced, as I had an appointment the next day and needed the truck to handle properly. Well this didnt help the vibration at all and was down another $450 in tires. Well first time in 56 yrs. I was upset enough and I wrote a letter to Eagle GMC about my dissatisfaction with their work. Oct 22nd I received a call from the service manager and explained he didnt want any customers that didnt have good news to say about their experience with Eagle. Asked me to bring the truck in on Oct. 24th and they would check and fix what was needed. Brought the truck in against my best judgement, but again needed this fixed and thought I would trust their concerns and find the problem. Later that day got a call and they explained the vibration was coming from the rear and it was a couple older tires. They said they re-check all the brake work they had done and all was fine. So here I go again, I gave them permission to replace 2 rear tires so I could have my truck for a VA appointment in Gainsville the next day. Was told that they would get me a leased vehicle to use until the truck was done, well ended up having to pay $50 from my pocket. Picked the truck up end of work day and another $450 worth of tires. Someone definitely re-bleed the brakes as they were good now, but the vibration is the same even though they told me it was a lot better. Needless to say never will I go back or even refer anyone to this place. Very upset since I really just wanted the problem fixed, no matter what the issues was. Will never give a good reference and honestly the first time ever that have felt a frustration so bad that I needed to write about my experience.

On Sept 9th my wife and I decided to go car shopping. I wanted to replace a Dodge truck I own. We went to the Eagle Outlet at Homosassa and talked to Randy. We found a truck that we were interested in so we went to the Eagle Buick GMC main dealership and discussed the “DEAL” with John. Ultimately we decided not to purchase the truck but while I was there I noticed a 2006 Corvette Convertible for sale at the dealership. That was the car I had been looking for, my dream car. It was my sixty fifth birthday but my wife was not excited about the car. I was scheduled to play golf the following day and requested that my wife take our Corvette coupe to the Eagle GMC Buick and see if we could come to terms on the Corvette convertible. After playing golf I called my wife who was at Eagle Buick GMC and surprisingly she loved the 2006 Convertible. I arrived at Eagle Buick GMC and discovered that we were some distance apart on the price. We were told by John one of the managers at Eagle Buick GMC to take the Corvette Convertible for a drive. He said “Take as long as you want, go set down take your lunch discuss the price you want to be at and come back in two or three hours and while you are gone I’ll see how close we can come to an agreement”. We left went to Crystal River sat down and while we eating decided that we were going to offer a thousand less than where we were at before we left but ultimately we were ready to pay cash for ANY difference that the dealership wanted. While we were returning from our lunch which was no more than forty five minutes since we had left we received a phone call from Randy who said you need to bring the car back we have someone here that wants to buy that car. I told him that we were on our way back and no more than a few minutes away from the dealership. When I arrived at the dealership I was told by Randy that he was told by Terry to call me and tell me to return the car. I immediately retrieved the keys to my Corvette Coupe and my wife and I left the dealership in our vehicles. A couple of years ago I had purchased an IS250 Lexus from this Eagle Buick GMC and this was my trusted dealership here in Citrus County. I had recommended this dealership to many of my friends. I have NEVER been treated so badly at an auto dealership where are there ETHICS? In 48 years of purchasing vehicles I have never literally had a vehicle sold out from under me while I was driving the vehicle. It would have been different if I had a financing problem but I was paying cash, there was not any financing involved at all. I called Russell, the dealership manager, on the eleventh of September and he apologized explaining that Randy made a rookie mistake. Looking back on the situation a ten year old kid should have known better. Possibly the salesmen Randy and Terry thought the sale to the other buyer would render a bigger commission. I just can’t understand why I would be called to return the car. Bottom line my faith in what I felt was the HONEST dealership here in Citrus County has been eliminated. In my opinion this dealership has been destroyed by unethical practices.

This is now my second truck purchase from this dealership within Citrus County. I would recommend anybody contact Steve Ernstes, personable, professional and unlike some salespeople at other dealerships, he takes ownership of his customers issues, problems and general well-being. During this whole process I was shown the utmost respect, I received an honest price for my trade, I was never misled or "played". If I felt that I was not receiving honest and professional treatment I would have walked out, I did not and the result is that I now have a newer, more reliable everyday work truck with payments that are well within my means. We end up at dealerships to make what to most of us is the second biggest purchase after our home, I own and operate a small business within Citrus County, I do not have unlimited funds, I work to put food on our table and shoes on our childrens feet. I do not waste money on frivolous things, when it comes to vehicles I WILL NOT shop at any other dealer in Citrus County. Special thanks go to Chris in Financing, his experience and tenacity resulted in me getting an amazing deal. You can add me to the list of forever customers!
