To all those who read reviews please take this review under major consideration. South Beach Fitness is not a place you would want to work out in. After my experience which by the way hasnt even been a day in fact I have not even worked out there yet will help your decision to not invest your hard earned money in this gym or even with a trainer named Michael Flickinger who claims himself to be the manager of this gym. For starters I went their seeking a membership and a tour of the gym as every gym I had ever been a member of does for you. I was told by the employee at the front desk that sorry no one was there to help me. In fact he just left it at that and didnt say another word. I asked him again well is there any information he could give to me and again he just said no. So I asked another question do you have a schedule of class or prices how about a tour? He said sorry he is just watching the front desk. He told me to just go online and get my membership there. While I was displeased with the response I thought well maybe a new employee and doesnt really know what he is doing. So I went online and I paid for a year membership in advance which was 368.88 everything went smooth until I found out the next morning that I was charged again by the gym for the full amount. When I called the gym to speak to a manger about this, Michael Flickinger (who called himself the manager) had assured me that this "oversight" would be rectified immediately as long as I had proof and apologized for the other employees behavior that that was unacceptable and not the gyms practice. Well as soon as my husband went into the gym to get a reversal on the chargers Michael Flickinger not only disrespected my husband but basically told him he could not guarantee a refund in a timely manner and that he would let the owner Lisa know and then he blew my husband off. I called Michael Flickinger to discuss this matter with him and he was just as disrespectful and then when I told him to refund not just the overcharge but what I initially paid for because of the treatment of which I was being treated he basically told me he will let the owner know and he didnt know when that would be. Only after I had assured him that I will bring criminal charges as well as a civil suit against this establishment was when he said the owner would contact me the next day. Which will be tomorrow. And for all of you that are reading this all of this started on 2/14/14 it is 2/18/14. How does a customer get treated like this and has not even stepped into the gym to even work out. I hope this helps all those looking for a good gym to work out at. Please stay away from this one.

This is the worst gym child care Ive ever experienced. I have been a member at the Y, lifetime fitness, and WAC, all with great experiences. It is dirty, the child care workers text and talk on the phone, it is absolutely unacceptable. My child was continuously sick, only while being a member here. I tried to give it a chance due to it being so close, but after being loudly and rudely called out of a dark yoga class to get my child for the 4th time in 3 weeks, we decided to cancel our membership. Its embarrassing, and completely unnessecary. We were called out because "hes the only one in here" ?? Which was very confusing. Once was a legitamate reason (he wet his clothing), the other two reasons were just as strange as the first. Also, there are problematic security issues here- rarely has the worker even looked up from texting while I get my children- made me feel really uneasy leaving them here. I would rather drive a few miles further and feel safe leaving my children, there are much better options available than this place. EDIT** adding the fact that it has been completely impossible to get in contact with anyone (owner, manger, etc..) to confirm that our membership is cancelled, so that our credit card doesnt continue to get charged. The "customer service" number we were given is the father of the owner who lives out of state, who was confused as to why his number was given out. This gym is so poorly run from the top down that I cant believe its in business.

well I am the dumb ace for not reading these reviews first. I join this gym about two years ago and they took the monthly fee out of my bank account twice then it took me going in to the gym four different days to try to get my over charge returned, I call, I emailed and the Lisa person was never there and never returned my calls about two weeks later the over charge was returned to my bank account...now fast forward to today. I wanted to re-join as now they have 24 hour access and the other local gym does not. I joined on line but their site did not say anything about the wait for getting the 24 hour access so stupid me thought it would be no big deal as I have traveled all over the country and got 24 hour access as soon as I signed up....not true at SB I went in tonight and the young guy working said "well I dont have any of the forms for you to sign up for the 24 hour access so you will have to come back during the week (daytime) and get the form then you wait about a week and some guy does a background check and then you get the access after paying another $25 fee. This is stupid and I canceled my brand new membership on site and now will have to argue (Im sure) during daytime hours with someone to get a refund. This is why I signed up on line and want the 24 hour access because I can NOT go in there during daytime hours HELLO

Great training facility for any type of workout routine. A wide variety of cardio and weight resistance machines, but also plenty of free weights and SPACE to train. The rooms, space, and wide variety of equipment ensures their gym goers that even during peak hours that they can get their workout in. Classes and trainers appear to be knowledgeable and in great shape. Cleanliness of the facility is good. The option to use the gyms 24 hour option coupled with the facility itself places this muscle factory far above any other around the area. No annoying crossfit cult activities. Get in and get out, no matter what time you go. Complaints about pricing leaves me scratching my head. Price is fair and competitive when compared to any other gym. Plus the clientele beats going to a LA Fitness or other crowded facility surrounded with inconsiderate gym patrons. South Beach keeps it honest, simple, and real. Cant sleep? Is your current gyms hours restricting you from training on weekends or holidays? Try out South Beach. You wont be disappointed.

****THEY CLOSE AT DIFFERENT HOURS THEN WHAT IS ADVERTISED****Absolutely the worst staff Ive ever interacted with. It took 4 weeks for my girlfriend to finally get her 24 hour card after she paid for it. During those 4 weeks after she had paid for it they had "kicked her out" at closing time because she didnt have a card even though she had already paid for it AND HADNT RECEIVED IT YET(they even knew this via computer records)! Also whatever cleaning agent they use for the equipment completely clogs my sinuses (which I never have problems with) it also happens with friends an makes some friends light-headed. The only reason anyone still goes to this gym is because there isnt any other decent gyms nearby an the people have formed a community feeling there which is awsome. If the staff were more concerned with their customers rather their phones this gym would be such a more welcoming place. "Michael the manager" should be the first to go, absolute burrito.
