I am a member of a different Planet Fitness, but I decided to use my black card and try the Melbourne, FL location out. I must say that I prefer this location over the one I normally use. The area feels more like a gym, with free weights (including bench barbells), machines, cardio and circuit weights all segregated to each area, including fencing in the 30-minute-circuit workout area to keep loiterers out. Although I did not see much of the free weight area, I did notice that in addition to the usual smith machines, there are two benches for both standard and incline bench presses. I also saw a squat rack as well as a rack for free weight preacher curls. This is friendlier to more experienced lifters in a gym that does not cater for this type. PF is known for sounding a "lunk alarm" if members drop weights or grunt, but I did not hear this alarm despite several people dropping weights. This is good, in my opinion, as these people are not bothering anyone else, so why distract them? The Cybex machines are labelled by muscle group and number, which gives the user an indication of what machine to use and when. For example, three machines are given the chest label: the chest press, incline chest press and chest fly. By seeing the number 1 on the chest press, the user knows this is the exercise to do first for optimum results. What I like even better are the weight stacks. At many PF locations, the progression on the weight stacks are poorly tuned to the point where you can only raise the weights by 20 lbs. This PF uses 20 lb. stacks, but has a dial by the weights to increase the weights in increments of 5 lbs. each. This smaller graduation allows for a more natural progression, in my opinion. If you live in Brevard and you are looking for a bare-bones gym at a low cost, give this Melbourne PF location a try. It does not have the bells and the whistles of a YMCA, but $20/month to get unlimited monthly access to any PF location in the country is worth it, in my opinion.

I moved out of state 2 years ago and joined a new club and recently found out I was being double billed. I had to send a certified letter to Melbourne to cancel by membership but when the club called they said they couldnt cancel it because I owe them $10. They then said they couldnt take the payment over the phone so I had to create an account on their website to provide the payment. I submitted the payment but it will not post for 3 days - in the meantime another payment is due to come out. So in another 3 days I will have to log in and submit another payment - then wait another 3 days for it to post - then call back and ask them to close my account. I would think twice about signing up with Planet Fitness.

BEST GYM IN MELBOURNE!!!!!!! I have worked out at several other places and i feel very comfortable here. The team is VERY knownledgeable and VERY friendly. I love how I can go right in and tan and do my workout and no one bothers me. The atmosphere is up lifting and the music they play is great if you forget your own. I love how they have TVs on the walking and cyling equipment. This place is also well maintained and it is very cleanly. I recommend Planet Fitness to all my friends and you should come check them out! they have a couple of diffenent opinons and they are so inexpensive!! you cant go wrong here!!!! Great Job guys at Planet Fitness Melbourne YOU ARE THE BEST!

This club is A#1 for the price but when I recently contacted them to cancel because I had a stroke - they want of course proof so there is no cancellation fee - I am stressed enough but to cancel and return the month is I hope not going to a huge issue - I was informed to get proof, certify a letter- by golly if I can drive there myself it would be easier but darn it I said I just had a stroke -do you know what that means in terms of mobility? I will get this done on the 22nd. Planet Fitness a stroke does not pick a certain date just so members can cancel before the 10th of the month. I guess I will stick to Yoga- it is free to cancel the moves

I checked around Melbourne and this place has the best bang for the buck. They have a wide selection of Cybex resistance machines and about every kind of cardio machine you can imagine. The staff is young and stays out of your way unless you ask for training assistance which is free. I like the chains philosophy of leaving egos at the door and discouraging what they call "lunks." If youre just looking to stay strong and fit this is the place. If you are a hardcore bodybuilder or lifter you wont find the environment you need here.

Keeping my gym membership active is a constant reminder and motivation for me to stay active. I love all the equipment especially the elliptical machine and the massage chair is soothing and helps me to keep the blood flowing in my legs, as a result I notice less swelling. The lack of privacy on the massage bed is something I do not like. The should be a door and more massage beds and fewer tanning beds. Other than that I love this "The Judgement Free Zone"

For the services offered at the price point this place is fantastic. Tanning, infared therapy, and hydro beds and massage chairs along side well maintained equipment and a clean facility? Sounds like a premium place but its actually very mellow and relaxed. And its affordable. Very, affordable. 24/5 hours (weekends are 7-7). Im actually very excited to be a member here now and Im not getting my wallet gouged monthly.

The Melbourne FL PF on Apollo / Sarno has good equipment and the staff is pretty cool. The yearly cost of this gym is inexpensive. I actually had access to the Gym at Florida Tech and a third gym through my health insurance. I continued to pay and go to the planet fitness because the equipment is better, better layout, less hassle to get in, and the location is pretty convenient.

One of the better PF locations they actually still have free weights and a squat rack. The staff is great and people who work out here are friendly. I wish they had another squat rack, but one is better than none I suppose. For the price you pay you will not find a better gym. (FTR this review is for the PF on Sarno ONLY...the one in Malabar is terrible)

This gym is fine, clean, with good equipment. However, after renovations, they removed the scales. Was told it was a corporate mandate. Since many people are working out for weight loss, this seems like a silly move to me. I relied on the gym having an accurate scale. Very disappointed. Maybe time to try Anytime Fitness.

This gym needs better hours. Not all of us are off on weekends and it makes it impossible to get a workout in on Sunday for myself. The staff is wonderful and keeps me coming back but the owner needs to extend there weekend hours or be open 24/7 to accommodate those of us who dont work ideal hours.
