I have been going to House of Shaves bi-weekly for over six months or so now and never left disappointed. Alex and Michelle both are building the business from that ground up and take real pride and care into their work. The overall ambiance and decor of that place is fitting, I really like the tool boxes they use with the blue print style paintings of razors and other barbershop tools; and if you ever get off work and need a beer they got you covered. From a perfect fade to a straight razor trim and clean up they have all of my needs satisfied, I really cant ask for more (I also do their eyebrow waxing that can be very hit or miss at some places and I refuse to get it done elsewhere from now on). For my last visit I was helped by Candis who is new to the shop but took meticulous care of me to make sure I was groomed and deemed fit by society. Most of my visits however I was under the expert care of Alex and Michelle.

My husband and I went in high hopes with seeing great reviews mostly from Alex. Unfortunately he was booked so we couldnt request him but he asked if another could take us. We said yes, showed the barber 2 pics front and back views of a Mohawk fade going down the back of the head. Noted that we wanted it not too short so to still have enough hair to style. Instead of all the preparation and showing pictures it was too short / straight flat short shave going down the back. Wasnt at all what we asked for or showed. I let the barber know that again with picture after. I wish we could have found a barber that could do what was asked. Not a difficult haircut to do but still wasnt even close to what was asked. Upset we couldnt have a better out come - if you dont have Alex none is worth the time.

Got a haircut and beard trim with Michelle, and I have to say the experience was great! The shop is very nice, with the feeling of a true barber shop. They specialize in mens haircuts, so its not like going to a big box store that does it all. Their niche is mens haircuts and styles as well as beard trims and shaves. Michelle took her time, no rush to get me out the door. The beard trim was exceptional, exactly what I have been looking for, she cleaned me up nicely. I would definitely recommend, as it looks like I have found my new forever barber. Its not really close to my house, so I do have to drive a little bit to get there, but its most definitely worth the trip.

We recently moved to FL and finding someone who is right for us has been a bit of a challenge. Ive taken my son to 4 different barbershops to get his haircut, and this is the best one. The place is very neat and welcoming. I brought him here yesterday and the young lady that cut his hair did amazing with him. My son has a massive cowlick on his front hairline AND on the crown of his head (poor child) that makes it nearly impossible to have a nice hairdo (he inherited from me. Sorry, kid. Lol) and she actually did an awesome job. From what Ive heard and seen, everyone here is great at their job. I definitelly recommend this place. ☺

I didnt know what to do when my barber left Center Stage Barber. I was looking for months for a new barber that could do close to what my old barber could do. I then I found Alex and House of Shaves. Needless to say that this was by far the best decision that I have made. He is quick and I always leave a satisfied customer. I use to sit inside a shop for hours waiting to get my head cut. Not with Alex schedule your appointment ahead of time and you are in and out. I have two boys and their bald fades and shadow fades have never been crisper. Five stars for you and your shop Alex. You certainly have gained a lifetime client.

So I didnt know where to get a haircut at and behold across the street and found house of shaves and I have to say it was one of the best haircuts I ever had and also since I have weird hair he was able to cut it fast and it came out perfect and it is also the cheapest place to get a haircut at So if your looking for a fast professional haircut and a price you can afford to come to house of shaves you wont regret ig

I’ve been seeing Alex for a couple years now and have never been disappointed in his work. My hair is very thick which makes it hard to cut, but he does a great job. You can easily make appointments ahead of time on the House of Shaves website so that you’re literally in and out in less than 30 minutes. Includes a free beer too. New shop, and Alex as the owner, doesn’t get much better than that. Highly recommend. A+

My son and I stopped in here after grabbing a bite to eat and were pleasantly surprised to find such a clean, professional environment. He had his hair cut by Michelle who was friendly and gave him an excellent cut. My son is EXTREMELY picky about his hair (hes 14) so its rare he is actually happy with the end result. We will definitely make it our go-to stop for his cuts in the future.

Alex is the best barber I have ever been to. Not only does he do a great job of cutting my hair, but he remembers exactly what I want every time, so I dont have to repeat myself on every visit. My lines are sharp and my haircut gets plenty of compliments. Alex is professional, courteous, and can make anyone feel comfortable. Hands down, Alex is the best barber in Jacksonville.

The first time Alex cut my hair, I referred all my friends and even my father. When he started his own place, I had no problem following him over. Went to House of Shaves after work, and man am I glad, Ive been going to many different salons and barbers over the years, mainly because Im so picky. But I had the pleasure of meeting Zach, 12 years of experience, and it showed. Best blended fauxhawk Ive ever had. And a scalp massage that almost put me to sleep, felt amazing. I WILL be going back!

Made an appointment for a beard trim. This place gives great service at a reasonable price. I would have got my hair cut but I shave my head. The hot towel on the face followed by a straight razor clean up around my beard helped shape it for a great look. Thanks Alex for a great appointment. Will be going back again! I have been going to House of Shaves for a while now. In fact, since it was just Alex by himself. I refuse to got to any other barber. Every time I walk out of the shop I get compliments about my hair. They take the extra steps and care needed for a great cut and shave. The amount of detail is amazing. Never once have I left disappointed.
