I bought a lifetime alignment from this Firestone in Melbourne Florida and had some problems from the beginning. They were very happy to see me as I was purchasing it but you could tell they did not like me coming back. Let me explain, one man there quoted me a price, after a long conversation where we discussed my vehicle and my intentions. It is a street and track car that will require alignments at least 6 times a year. He said no problem, you bring it in as many times as you want. I did not purchase it that day but a week later. At this time I spoke to a female, she looked over my car and quoted me a much higher price, telling me how difficult my car would be to align, saying it would take them more time than the average car. I complained but eventually gave in and purchased anyway. I got 2 alignments, and all seemed to be okay. This weekend I go in, drop the car off for 4 hours, call them up to see if it is ready and they tell me the car is too low to fit on the rack! I asked did you get a new rack because the last time I was in they had no trouble what so ever. He said it was the same rack and he would need to get some ramps. It is a little lower than stock so I carry some 2x6s in the trunk just in case, I told him that and he said he would give them a try. I didnt ask him how long he was going to wait before calling me to tell me he couldnt get the car on the rack! Anyway he apparently gets it on the rack because he gives me a printout, He also tells me my inner tie rod end needs replacing. I dont look at the printout until I get home. I discover that there are no numbers for the rear. What gives? I told him I replaced the rear bearings and was bringing it in specifically for the rear alignment! I call him up again and he tells me the back of the car was too low to align. My Lord, its the same car somebody did at that same shop just a few months earlier! The second big thing is he never tells me that he didnt do the rear alignment! Anyway he recommends another Firestone in the area. In my opinion, this shop has become the kind of shop you see on 20-20. They tried to con me and did not get away with it. I would have been in trouble if there wasnt another good Firestone in the area. I went to the other Firestone in Palm Bay Florida and they did the alignment, gave me a full printout and checked the inner tie rod. They confirmed my doubts about the Melbourne store saying the alignment was way off and the tie rod was fine. 2008-08-02

If you like bringing your car to a place that says they will honor your coupons over the phone, and when you arrive they deny that part of the conversation. Then you should consider getting your car serviced at the #1 Bestest Tire and Svc Center in Brevard County, Firestone, where car service comes second only to lying and false advertising. I received a coupon in the mail for $10 off an oil change. Called Roger and asked how much a standard oil change is, and he said it would be $17.99+$2 in fees for a total of $19.99. After he quoted me $19.99 I told him that I had a $10 off coupon. He said he can honor the coupon. Prior to hanging up the phone I confirmed that my oil change would be $10. When I arrived for the oil change Roger greeted me professionally and began entering my information into their system. Then, Roger tells me that my total is going to be $19.99. I explained to him that we just finished a conversation on the phone discussing the fact that I was using a coupon for $10 off. He denied that part of our previous conversation as any poor listener/communicator would. He got his manager and he did not honor the price that was clearly offered to me over the phone. Needless to say I did not get my oil change at this place, and I would highly recommend for anyone considering this place for service to reevaluate your options. Firestone Tire & Service Center is a complete waste of time and condones the practice of false advertising. Why do companies like Firestone waste money on paper and ink for coupons if its sale price is the same as getting service performed without a coupon?

Deceitful Warranty practices. I came in looking for KYB Mono Max shocks which I found they do not carry. The man at the front desk suggested Sensa-trac shocks as their best shock. I told him I had heard that they tend to fail quickly vs the heavy duty KYB shock. He told me not to worry because they come with a life time warranty and if they go bad they would replace them under the warranty. Well 6 months later they did fail. Both were leaking and my van was bouncing at every bump, which even the old stock shocks with 90k miles did not do. I brought it in for the "warranty" replacement and the guy hands me an estimate for $100 dollars a shock! When I asked why this is not covered under warranty? The man says "the shocks are under warranty but the labor to put the new ones on is not." What a load! I just left, bought the KYBs I should have gotten to begin with and had a local Mom and Pop shop install them and they only charged $50 a shock. It makes sense they only carry shocks that break in 6 months because they can charge you over and over to install replacements under "warranty"

On the positive side, they price matched Tire Rack and the tires appear to be balanced properly. On the negative side, they took 3 hours to mount and balance 4 tires, and managed to scratch sizable chunks out of two of my rims. The manager owned up to the rim issue and lined up repair without a fuss, though. *Edit*: Upon further review, I found that my lugs were dramatically over torqued to the point that one of my wheel lock studs was marred. Not only that, but the receiving bolt hole has damaged threads and must be repaired. I have no idea why its so hard to find a reputable tire shop these days. Completely disappointed.

This place sucks. Im sitting here as i type this review. Came in for a simple balance and rotate. Its not a busy day either, just 2 people in front of me. My car was lifted in the air about 20 min after i got here, but sat on the rack for about an hour before anyone touched a wheel. I could here the guys in the back talking and having a good time while no work is being done. I used to be a tire tech so i know that a balance and rotation only takes about 10 min if you know what youre doing. They knew what they were doing, they just werent doing it.

We have used this Firestone a couple of times in the last two years. We keep returning to them because we are helpful and straight forward about what needs to be fixed and how much it will cost. We have not run into any problems with the repairs they make and they do the work quickly and at the cost they quote. I am usually a critic of everything, but I will continue to return here for car repairs because good, honest, helpful mechanics are hard to find.
