I just wanted to share with you my experience at Firestone in Cranberry Township on route 19, June 2, 2014. I went to have my car aligned. I told the mechanic Chad not do to anything with out talking to me first. He called and said " my front left wheel bearing was grinding and needed changed, also the back left and right had slight play and all 3 should be replaced." I said thank you, please write down the parts and information and Ill check into it asap as I needed my car the next day when the work could be done. I called my father he said we could check it out and do the work. Well today my father and I spent a few hours taking the front left wheel apart to find nothing was wrong. My dad thought this at first when he did some tests but we mistakenly trusted the mechanic Chad so we kept going. Finally we get down to the wheel bearing to change it and it looks brand new, no metal bits, turns smoothly etc. So we take it up to the auto parts store where I purchased the parts, all 4 male mechanic and employees said oh that looks brand new nothing is wrong with that. They tried to pull one over on you because you area girl with an old car. We said thanks and left and went to another auto shop and asked them when they thought, again that nothing was wrong. with the wheel bearing or anything for that matter. I no longer trust Firestone, after this awful experience. I do not have the extra $300 to have work done that does not need done. I realized I have an older car; however, you do not need to try to scam me because I am a female with an older car. Places like Firestone are exactly why I always check with people that know more about cars than I do. I am aware that cars are not my expertise as I am in the medical field and do not appreciate being taken advantage of because it is not my area. I will not be returning to Firestone no matter how convenient it is. (I live across the street currently).

Ive been taking my cars here since they opened. Ive caught them a few times lying about what my cars need. Just two days ago, I took my car in for an oil change a tire rotation and evaluation of an exhaust leak. The tech told me that my car needed all of the exhaust replaced from the catalytic converter back. And the only place to buy the system was at the dealership and that it costs $1600. The place where i took it for replacement cut out a 6 inch piece of pipe from between the cat and the resonator and installed a $5 sleeve made specifically for that purpose. And they did it for less than one tenth of the $1600. Then I found that the system from the dealer actually only costs $1100. Im sure he was trying to get me to tell him to replace it. I wonder what he planned on charging me for the labor. I think this shop started out as a decent place for auto service. But in the 4 years that theyve been here, they went downhill fast. I think Ill never go there again except for the free lifetime alignments. And I will get those done frequently. This little write up will be going to their corporate office too. I just wanted to edit this post to let people know that the district manager was kind enough to refund the cost of the lifetime alignment service.

This place is one of the least honest shops in Cranberry. I took my wifes vehicle and mine on two occasions for routine maintenance (oil change, state inspection) and they attempted to sell unnecessary repairs. On the first occasion, they told my wife that she had multiple shocks leaking and in need of replacement. The price was relatively steep for said work, so we took it to her family hometown mechanic for a second opinion and they found no such leaks or any issues with the suspension. On the second occasion, my vehicle, I had the oil changed and tires rotated and they told me that the rear drum liners on my pickup were in need of replacement. This truck had 35k miles on it and hadnt needed the front pads replaced yet, so I was skeptical. I took the truck to the dealer for a second opinion and they told me that the rears had approximately 50% of the usable life left in them. Its a shame that the people running this place operate in this manner, as its a nicely equipped new shop, but I will certainly not return.

The guys that work at the Cranberry Township Firestone went above and beyond to help me. I was stuck across the street at a gas station with a flat (torn) tire and a broken jack. When AAA said they couldnt help me for 2 hours (long after Firestone closed), one of the Firestone guys drove over to help me put a spare tire on my car and get it to the shop. When we realized the front tires were a different size than the back tires, and that they didnt have the one I needed in stock, one of the techs DROVE TO A NEARBY STORE to get the tire I needed and put it on for me--even though it was after hours. So they not only drove all over the place to help me--which is absolutely not in the job description--but they also stayed open almost 2 hours later than they were supposed to. I was in the middle of a 12 hour drive and very far from home, and these guys really came through. Best service ever.

This place is great!!! I took my car in to have the brakes checked and they took it right in and did a complete car check. The car ended up needing more than I expected, but they were absolutely correct in what it needed. I okayed the work and they said they could do it right then and offered to give me a ride to work. They called when the car was done and came to my work, picked me and took me back to pick up my car. The car runs better than it has in years! Problems that had been ignored by other garages in the past (they only fixed symptoms rather than fixing the whole problem ie. kept replacing brake pads when the caliper was sticking and causing the brake pads to continuously wear out.) I could not be happier with my experience with this place. Everyone was very nice and treated me with respect and their mechanics obviously know their stuff! Highly recommended!

I went to Firestone couple of months ago and I was told that car needs all pads, rotors and all 4 calipers and a light bulb. Someone start replacing the pads and found only one break pad and one caliper was bad. Everything else was in very good shape. I went to buy the light bulb from Auto Zone and they could not find a bad bulb. Later on, I went to Firestone again and the technician found nothing wrong with the bulb, rotors, break pads and calipers. Last time when I went to Firestone, the technician wants to rip you off. Be careful. There is always a bad apple or two.
