Most people dont realize that I have a lot of hair perhaps because of latin background. Thats because I have been doing thermal reconditioning on my hair for the last 6 years. So my hair looks sleek and smooth, all flattened down and neat. Without the magic of thermal reconditioning, my hair was wavy, poufy, and i have a lot of it. Thermal reconditioning has actually thinned my hair out because of breakage and yet, there are still lots of it. I know that I am blessed, lots of people wish they have that much hair, bla, bla, but it takes a really long time to dry my hair. If I did not dry it with a blow dryer, it can take the whole day for my hair to be completely dry. No kidding. Anyway, for the longest time, I had my hair super-layered to help with this weighty issue. The problem is that I have a cow-lick on my crown and this layering thing is counter-productive to my cowlick. Most hair stylists always either layered my hair heavily (almost making it a mullet) or simply thin out the ends. Not Fer. He totally gets all my hair issues. So, he thinned out my hair underneath and not just the tips. GENIUS! I love my haircut! My hair is still sleek but it is bouncy! My cowlick is still tamed, but my head feels much lighter.Looking at my hair in the mirror, I did not see any difference at all (no mullet), but I saw the long strands of hair he cut off on the floor and there were lots of it. So, we established that he is a hair cut genius. I also got my hair colored cause I got gray hairs. He also got it right away that I love subtleness. No crazy blonde colors for me. I love the looks of highlights, but am afraid of bleaching because I got enough breakage already. Without having to explain much, Fer creatively used two colors on my hair one as a base and one as a highlight - no bleaching! How awesome is that? It looks so shiny with hints of subtle highlights that makes my hair looks healthy instead of dyed up. So, he is also a hair color genius. Watch out MichelAngelo! On top of all that, he is easy going and relaxed. It was a very relaxing and pleasant experience to get my hair done by Fer. Also, he is very responsive to calls and you can either schedule online or email him to see if he has any sudden cancellations. He usually replies to my email within a few hours. Of course, he is not the cheapest. But, all the hair places in Coral Gables are not cheap. His prices are quite average and affordable really. Anyhow, I definitely recommend him and the salon which by the way is very relaxing and clean. Their customer service skills are excellent!

Whatever you do Pleaseeee stay away from this salon!!!!! Let me tell you my horrible experience: I went to this salon for a color correction with the so called HAIR GURU "Fernando". He supposedly has a rep for being the best hairdresser/colorist there "FALSE". When I came in for my appt. he approach me and started criticizing my hair asking me who had done my highlights because they were horrible and that I should be grateful that I found him to fix it. He started talking all this CRAP that he was a hairdresser for many famous people in Paris blah blah blah to make himself look good. Whatever at that moment I thought I could trust him with my hair based on all the good reviews Ive read here, so I let him do what he though would look natural on me. Well to make the story short he applied an ash color to my already blonde highlighted hair, AHHHH so you can already imagine how my hair turn out "GREEN" and it was like a greenish mold color ewww horrible. If you are supposedly a true professional hairdresser for so many years like you claim how are you not going to know that you cannot mix ash with blonde/yellow hair, isnt the color wheel the first thing they teach you in beauty school!!!! Well to top it off the bill for that disaster was $ 290.00. What an horrible experience I should have just stay with the thick yellow highlight I came in with, they looked much better than the disaster this guy had done. When I left I wanted to cry every time I looked at my hair in the mirror, so i finally decided to go and buy a box tint and do it myself. Worst experience ever, trust me do not go to these people they know nothing about hair color and all these good reviews you see here are all FALSE and written by the fat gay receptionist that sit in the front with nothing to do all day. Trust me when I tell you this because I saw it with my own eyes. When I went to pay I saw the receptionist on yelp writing what looked to be a review on their own salon. This is the only way they can guarantee clients and unfortunately for me I believe all the good reviews I saw here. Please stay away if you want to save your hair.....youve been warned.

IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HAIR AND LOVE YOUR HAIR... DO NOT COME HERE. If i can put "0 Stars" I would in a heartbeat. These people, or should i say THE OWNER of this salon, ruined my hair. My hair had a nice balayage and all i wanted to do was make my blonde lighter and add more blonde to my hair keeping the same dark base i had. They did not do nothing CLOSE to this. She left my hair ugly and GRAY and she didnt even let me face the mirror when she finished my hair, she had me turned around. She KNEW she messed up my hair, so she offered to make it "better". The second time doing my hair she made my hair WORSE. All the nice "products" she used on my hair didnt work. My hair felt like i had so much hairspray on it and the brush didnt go through my hair. My hair ended up looking like i needed to go to the salon ASAP to do my roots, and it looked like i had my hair fully bleached with NO toner. On top of that, I was crying and bawling so much and she did not CARE one bit. All she kept repeating was how she spent "4 hours on my hair with such good products" basically implying that i better pay for the HORRENDOUS work. I did pay for it, but i really wish i can get my $250.00 back because i ended up going to another salon 10 MINUTES after so they can take care of my hair. I told her personally that she SCREWED up my hair and she was just nodding her head. Worse salon ever, NEVER will i go back here. I am going to make sure that all my friends and family and co workers KNOW what a horrible job this salon did and make sure NO ONE i know thinks about coming here unless they want their hair ugly and damaged! To make matters worse, i was getting my hair done because my birthday was the day after and this is the horrible job that i get. I spent unnecessary birthday money here, to leave in tears. I have never written a review in my life, but I had to make sure this place got this type of review because again, this place is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
