Subscribed with two other family members. They promised a promotion and didnt warn us of deadlines or anything. They ended up telling us that they couldnt offer us a discount because the time had passed. They charged me full price and never returned my money despite all the promises they made to alter it. After seeing the money-grabbing nature of this place, our family canceled our membership and about $600 dollars were lost in total. Another instance had a lot to do with my decision to unsubscribe, however. They were giving out "free assessments" where a personal trainer measures your body mass index and all that stuff. After taking me from room to room, showing me exercises I could do, I was pleased to have gone. But then it started, the sales pitch...the personal trainer wanted me to sign up to be his trainee and this would ONLY add up to about 200 a month. I explained that there is no way I could afford that because it was more than 25% of my min. wage salary. He then proceeded to tell me that I could always pay half now and the other half later. I said no, thank you. He then proceeded to keep trying to convince me by telling me that I could join with another person. I still said no. At last, he had run out of patience. The room got quite and I was already feeling awkward. I told him that I was thankful for his time but I really couldnt afford it. He then started guilt tripping me telling me that I had told him I liked the exercises he had shown me and basically that I wasted his time. Finally, I told him I was thankful but there was nothing that I could do. He then told me straight up "do you want me to lose my job?" I was so offended I just told him that is most definitely not how you got customers and told him that is he was done I would be leaving. I left the office and there was never any attempt to make the situation better from either himself or from management after I told them.

The ONLY reason why i go to this LA is because of proximity to my home. Ive been a member of Ballys/LA fitness for 10 years, collectively.The two ladies at the front desk (which are mother and daughter) are always friendly and welcoming, but aside from that- the staff is cold, apathetic, unwelcoming, and actually rude (including the manager of the club). Every time I have asked to have my body fat measured ( about every 1-2 months), you would think I was asking them to cure a disease- the trainers act annoyed and bothered, one even rolled her eyes at me. As early as 5am, the weights are unracked and all over the place. The stability workout balls are in need of inflation, there are no foam rollers, and they dont even have a horse (for lower back extensions exercises). Even the Kids Klub at this location has given me a bad taste (my son is always miserable when he attends). If you are an LA Fitness member and arent pressed for time or proximity, the experience at the Palmetto Bay location is 10x better (my son agrees..he can be in there for an 1-1.5 hours and come out happy!) This location should really invest in some customer service training and provide its members with a more organized, friendly, and safe experience while we work on our health and fitness.

I opened an account with these LA Fitness with Carlos Valdivia 5 month ago. I told him that I was in the city but going to move any time. He explained that I could open the account and freeze it while I was out of town. I asked him if there was any charge for this and he said “NO”. After one month I was charge for the day care that I had included in my membership. I called him and he promise that It will be taken care of. We are now in April and they still continue to charge my card $10.97 a month. I called again and now he tells me that these charges are from having the account frozen, (something he told me there was no charge). I then asked him to cancel my membership and he promised that it will be canceled the next day. At 7:00PM EST the membership was still active. I then called customer service and the agreed to cancel it. This gym is full of liars, they will tell you anything to get you sign up for a membership. Don’t trust them, they will steal your money, even when Flor from customer service recognized that he had lied they did not refund the money they unjustly charge me. Beware of these thieves. I wish I could give them a zero star rating.

I have no comment about the staff or anything about the location. However, they have proven to be the worst in efficiency when it comes to canceling your account. Ive been a member with a another gym for some time now, simply more cost efficient. I have not stepped foot in LA Fitness for over 2 years. Although I know I submitted my request to cancel my membership with them online, they have continued taking out money from my banking account for these two years. Money that I wont get back.. $240 is a big chunk of change. I called and they said my account has only been frozen opposed to cancelled. And the representative can either send me via email my request to cancel my member where then I will have to mail it out to CALIFORNIA or go directly to their location to cancel it with the manager. Lets be honest here, we all know theyll only try to convince me to not cancel like any sales person would. Going there is the last thing I wanted to do, I work overnight. I sleep during the time the manager is on duty to cancel my membership. I suppose Ill deprive myself from sleep to make sure this gets done, since online is unreliable.

I live close to LA Fitness located at 16051 South Dixie Highway Miami, FL 33176, But I founded this places and differences are big, the bathrooms are extremely clean and new with very good comfort, going to the sauna,the pool, Jacuzzi its a pretty good experiences, the sauna and the vapor bathroom smell very good, the machines on the workout area are not enough but are new almost all machines have a personal TV screen, so you really enjoy your time here, the gym are not big, I normally go on weekends and are not so crowed, going to try this week from Monday to Friday to compare if are very crowed

Employees are nice, the gym is clean and so is the locker room (mens). Very convenient to have temporary lockers for free use before entering workout area to store keys or miscellaneous items. It gets packed around 5pm - 7pm, but then again, what gym doesnt? It is not unbearable but it is something to keep in mind if you dont favor crowds.

Great daycare for toddlers ❤️ They actually let me excise , every time I peek hes always happy & playing. I never have a problem with them, friendly staff ,equipment up to date and just a great gym over all. I do wish the daycare was a bit bigger with more toys and the class rooms .
