I received the worst haircut I have ever gotten at Michael Thomas Hair Salon. I had long hair and wanted it layered and said I was OK with a couple inches taken off. Instead I got 3-4” cut off and after almost an hour of her cutting my hair it looked like someone put a ruler across the bottom of my hair and simply cut a blunt line straight across. There are no layers. It looks like dolls hair. This was from the “new talent” and although I didn’t care what I paid (apparently the price goes up depending how long they have been here) but I made the appointment with her because she assured me she had years of experience cutting hair but was only at this salon for one year so she had to be classified as “new talent”. She was a very nice person but she should not be cutting hair, at least not long hair. When I told her how I wanted my haircut, layered and styled, she should have admitted she didn’t know how to do this and referred me to someone experienced. An owner or manager should have overseen her work because it took her an extraordinary amount of time to cut my hair and they should have noticed that and helped her out. I was there for two hours for only a cut and shampoo with conditioner. Additionally, I told her I wanted my blonde hair more of a golden tone and she said they had products that would help with that. The expensive products she sold me I later noticed were for platinum hair. I read the product reviews when I got home and it said it takes the yellow out of hair and turns it white which is the opposite of what I told her I wanted. I went back to the salon the next morning to return the hair products and the receptionist was nice and very apologetic. She agreed it was cut straight across with no layers and encouraged me to have another stylist fix it. I declined so she eventually said she could offer me a 20% discount to have it corrected. I did not want to chance anyone else touching my hair from this salon but I would think they would fix obviously bad haircuts done at their salon for free. At least the owner should care enough to do this. When I was getting my hair cut I saw another women getting her hair colored and a stylist had left hair dye on the side of her face the entire time without wiping it off. A younger man next to me ended up with a very odd looking blunt cut as well. From what I saw everyone who works here is very young and inexperienced. I definitely would not return nor recommend this salon to anyone.

I found Michael Thomas Hair Design after searching Google for hair salons in Naples. I live closer to Marco Island and wanted to go somewhere different. Upon reading the ratings, reviews, and taking advantage of their first time customer coupon I went in for an appointment. The location was a little tricky to find and I had to call for help but I am beyond happy that I found this gem! The place is very clean, comforting, and new. The staff are very polite, caring, and professional. I use to have Morgan do my hair and now I have Jennifer (who is amazing!), but I trust anyone from the salon to take care of my long hair. Before leaving they always make sure I am 100% happy with my hair and they take care of anything that I might not like. I am always offered a complementary beverage upon arrival as well. The prices are affordable for individuals who are on a budget like me AND the service is beyond what I pay. I have never been so happy with how my hair looks until I found this place!! I use to work within a spa and understand customer service and I love how they treat their clients. I will never go anywhere else now and do not mind taking the long drive for excellent service. I am very pleased to have found them on Google and had to share my excitement for others to check them out at well.

Always a great experience from the time I call to book my appointment until I check out. Very professional staff to answer phones and assist in making appointments, they have been so accomodating when I needed to change an appointment. Denise is extremely talented and always manages to give me exactly what I want even when I dont know what I want! She has a great eye for color and seems to know when I need to go a tad warmer, brighter, blonder, darker, etc. Her assistant Ty is great, and makes my time in the salon even more enjoyable. I have on occassion had appointments with other stylists and have never had a bad experience, Katie, Anna, Lisa and Gabe have all been excellent and I would gladly book an appointment again with any of them. Everyone who works there is warm, friendly and makes you feel like they value you as a client. I have been a client there for years and have never had a bad experience in anyway. I get many compliments and asked who does my hair on a regular basis. A great salon!

Im male, with a difficult head of curly hair. I called to schedule an appointment with a upper level stylist. This salon has 6 levels of stylists. The receptionist told me (exact words) "we dont put our upper level stylists with men. You can have our new talent, or level 1 or 2". So basically because I am male, i get put with the lower 50% automatically. Whoa. Then she said (exact words), "our stylists rankings are based upon their demand, not their experience." So I said, "So basically what you are telling me is your levels, which also dictate your pricing, are based upon popularity, not their talent?" She said, "Yes". If you are a male who appreciates a quality cut from a place that doesnt automatically discriminate based on your sex, and bases their rates on how good their stylists are, not their popularity (whatever that is), I would go elsewhere.. and I did. If you are female, feel assured that here you can choose a busy stylist, pay more, and not necessarily get a good cut.

I always love getting my haircut at this salon. I like that they have different tiers of experience for their stylists, as I am pretty crazy about my hair. The more experience, the more the cut costs, so you can decide for yourself what is worth it or isnt. I cut/style my hair with Lisa who is awesome. She is a level 4, I believe. I also love that this salon opens at 7 a.m., so I can get my haircut before work and it really starts my day off right. Also, if your bangs are getting a little long in between cuts, they invite you to come back for free for a bang touch up prior to your next hair cut. I think its great all the way around, and love that they offer you a beverage while youre there. It adds that little touch that makes it feel like Im getting pampered.

I stopped here out of impulse...I have tried many different hair dresses in the last few years hoping to be loyal to just "one" of them and have this person take good care of my hair. To me , it is not just about the look of my hair but the "health it as well. I have been loosing my hair by chunks for the last year...from a full mane of thick hair, to sad looking strands. My hair is on the recovery stage, using the products recommended and I am happy to say all the advice and care I got has me on the right direction....my hair is looking and feeling healthier and not falling as much as it did before. Highlights are done with the best products and their "care program" has worked for me hence no more broken hair at the roots! thank you guys!
