How do you make you a CBER property manager disappear?? Ask him to fulfill his promises. First and Last time I ever rent through a realty management co. Had to view house w/no power. Was told it had a termite bond (it didnt). We are not pro bldg inspectors or pest control, so we had to go by his info. We were renting, not buying so we had no reason to go up into the attic. A pipe burst and we were forced to repair (rebuild) the 2nd shower out of our pocket so that we could move in. It went down hill from there. During cleaning, we discovered dry-wood termites and a plenty. You pushed, it caved in. More rodents living up in the attic than persons paying rent. My hubby removed two rat skeletons. Fresh urine and feces coming through back closet ceiling. Exposed wiring up in attic and NO SMOKE DETECTORS. Was told by agent, "you never mentioned it when you did a walk through" (Pretty sure its required by law, shouldnt be looking for it.) We paid and placed 8 smoke detectors after seeing what was up in the attic. Owner agreed to a lic. inspection, that was the end of Feb. 2014, as things have progressed to the point where no one is sleeping in their rooms now, my husband called our agent and was told - to paraphrase - "the owner is waiting on several months of your rent (approx $7 grand) b4 he fixes everything and tents the house." And the CBER agent made it clear at our lease signing that any work done to the house w/out permission of the owner is considered a violation of your lease. So to put it in perspective. About the time they have the money to bring the house up to code, it will be just shy of our lease expiration BUT if we do any work out of our pocket to protect our kids because they are avoiding doing the work...we forfeit our $1350. in deposits. I believe they call that a scam. Since living here, I have heard NOTHING good about their property mngmt division...well one thing...theyre Bulls in a China shop if they want you out...regardless if the only person home at the time of eviction is a minor child. We have had to serve them with notice of intent to vacate, so in a month, a family with 3 ASD kids will be scrambling to find residence and we will be forced to seek legal action to get our deposit back which could takes months...b/c a firefighter/paramedic with special needs kids has that kind of money laying around to start over. Definitely pass on renting properties from this Realtor. Their lack of support and empathy for the tenant is equivalent to the IRS.

No matter how nice their properties look they are called slum lords for a reason. If you have a family or plan on starting one, please do not live in one of their properties. I was a tenant under them for a year and the property got to the point where it was no longer livable due to their inattention and refusal to do anything. When confronted, the property manager, from Ellison realty, simply threatened, and provoked, when I was simply concerned about my childs health. Even without that, it took them an entire month and a letter threatening to withhold the rent for anything to be done, while my family was getting sick from the conditions. And he still acted as though he was not the one responsible. This company is not to be confused with the Ellison Realty that is on Fort king street. I have no experience with them at all.
