I have to be honest. At first I was reluctant to go… I have driven past 100s of times… I had no idea how The CrossFit people were… Its been my experience a lot of gyms have the typical snobby musclehead arrogant well... it rhymes with "Rick".... and for you slower folks it starts with a P.... but that is NOT the case… When I first walked in I received nothing but kindness, open arms, very friendly people… not only the staff but the members… Everybody is extremely nice and friendly… for a 47 year old Veteran with PTSD who has not even thought of working out in the better part of 20+ years due to situations in my life… And basically making excuses… This has helped me with my mental well-being… As well as my physical well-being The hard part for me anyways is learning the routines… And then trying to do them correctly… If Im not doing it correctly or screwing up… Alex, Tim, Paul, or Isabella are always there to correct me and offer an encouraging word… and if Im honest some days I dont really go out of my house… But I get to the Iron Legion and Im able to forget my divorce and the other BS in my life… And take a break for an hour or so... well kind of break anyways.... if you want to get in shape and feel better… Yes I actually feel better (sometimes anyways) when Im done... I dont believe theres any other place to be then Iron Legion CrossFit to get yourself back in shape … I am currently enrolled at this time in the six week transformation challenge… The only thing Im bummed out about is that Im not getting in shape quick enough… But thats mainly due to my unhealthy eating habits.... but the coaches even help you with that… So in short theres no reason or excuse not to go try it out for yourself and get your ass in gear... and the place to do it is Iron Legion Crossfit

I was never much one for the gym, but a friend got me to try crossfit after I got hired as a local firefighter to maintain a level of endurance and strength needed for the demanding job. I was a bit hesitant about going, but after a week I started to want to go more. 6 months in to my membership we moved to downtown Ocala and things got a lot better. Larger facility for more people and different classes. Room for showers so members can get a workout in before work or going out on the town. 2 years doing crossfit and I never want to stop. Ive made a lot of friends and feel like Ive joined a family. The coaches are the best and some are trained in courses outside of Crossfit for weightlifting and strength/conditioning, so they bring a lot of experience to help with designing workouts for everyone and those with injuries that want to rehab the injuries and still workout other parts of the body. Theres classes for everyone. Regular crossfit classes, crossfit light for those looking for a less intense training but still a great workout, crossfit kids thats taught by elementary school teachers, and Barbell Club that works on Olympic lifting. Stop in and see about joining or at least a trial class.

CrossFit Iron Legion is hands down the best CrossFit box in Ocala. I have had the privilege of knowing the owners, Ted and Karen Dreaver, for many years and watched this box start from the ground up. The pursuit of excellence is the main goal at Iron Legion, and that is achieved through education, dedication, hard work, and a strong sense of community. The trainers have several certifications, and are always getting more as they increase their skills and knowledge base. At Iron Legion, it is hard not to feel like a family member (or part of the wolf pack as they call it) right when walking through the door for the first time. Regardless of skill level, they will take you in and train you for whatever your goals are. Whether you are a beast wanting to crush iron, or a mom with children trying to stay fit, you will feel right at home. There is also a CrossFit Kids program so you can bring the little ones. Walking in for a workout is also extremely easy, they are always happy to have people drop on by and share a workout. What else can I say? There is huge a painting of a wolf on the wall that makes me feel awesome every time I walk in there. Go there yourself and check it out.

Let me first say I have a fear of gyms but I started at Iron Legion about 7 or 8 months ago and I guess you can say Im totally hooked now. I recently broke my foot (not at Iron Legion!) and came in to put my membership on hold and the coaches convinced me I didnt have to. I figured that with the growing membership I would be too much of a burden needing individual attention but the coaches have been wonderful! Despite a full beginners class, they spend the time to create a custom WOD for me mimicking what everyone else is doing that ensures Im safe but still getting a good workout. And they constantly check in to make sure Im ok and I still feel like Im getting a good enough workout. Not to mention that everyone there is just awesome. Im glad I get to continue because I would honestly miss everyone if I had to stop going for a month while my foot healed.

Awesome "Gym". Typically when you think of a "gym" you think of a bunch of super complex machines, people casually running/eating a sandwich on treadmills and huge steroided-out/spray tanned dudes taking selfies in the multitude of mirrors. THIS IS NOT THAT PLACE. CIL is excellent group of coaches, athletes, military/EMS/police, fitness first-timers and fitness-veterans all working toward the goal of making you stronger, faster and better than even you thought you could be. The atmosphere is welcoming to all levels of fitness, whether you are just starting, looking to get back into shape or want to hit a 500lb back squat. I joined a little less than 2 months ago and have lost 20lbs so far and I look forward to see what the future holds. Try it, you wont regret it, whats the worst that could happen, you just might love it. Will Howard

I have been working out at CrossFit Iron Legion for almost 3 months and I love this gym(and the people). I was immediately welcomed; even though I had no weightlifting experience they didnt let that deter my progress. They worked with me for weeks to ensure I had correct form and was not going to injure myself. Now Cross fit has received a bad rap because of their take on fitness and doing things differently I must say though at Crossfit Iron Legion they never push you to the point of breaking you, they dont berate if you cant finish a work out and if you dont feel comfortable doing something they have no problem modifying it to your comfort level . I feel this is why they stand apart from all other gyms. You get the attention and encouragement you need to feel empowered to succeed and reach your goals.

Been doing intense training for about 2 years now. There was the "gym" times that no longer exist for me. The "X" to Xfit became a thing of the past when I joined CrossFit Iron Legion. There is noting out there that will fulfill your fitness needs like CFIL will. Our coaches are the best in the business. They will teach and be there for you every step of the way. To put it in different terms...... I will make sure my WOD gets a time in my schedule no matter what the day brings . I love CFIL and the fact that I get to work out with my husband and kids is awesome. I am very confident to say that once you try a Class at CFIL you WILL go back for more!! Thanks to Mr Ted that is able to provide this amazing place for us to work out and call it our other home because at CFIL we are FAMILY:)
