I moved from Hawaii to Orlando last year and found that theres only ONE 24hr Fitness in all of Orlando, that was a bummer since this one is at least a half hr from where I live. In addition they plan to open 1-2 more Super Sport/Sig Clubs in the area. I had an All Sport Club membership because thats all we have in HI, so I have to pay $10 more per mo to go here. This is a "Shaquille O’Neal Signature Club" so it has a little more than the basic Sport Clubs (swimming pool, of course huge basketball area, a spinning room, etc); Parking is free & Ive never had to wait for a machine, Ive gone on weekends & weekdays, day or night, & never had the problem the other commenter had w/lighting. I am 57 and my husband is 511 and again no problems w/both machines & free weights. I see people cleaning all the time both the machines & bathrooms; maybe the other person didnt see people cleaning constantly because they were going in the middle of the night. They provide towels which is great, they provide hand sanitizer and paper towels & cleaner to clean up after yourself or after someone else if you need or want to. BTW I dont work for these guys - I just wanted to comment on the other person who said they saw it as a "meat head gym" - Im not on steroids and I see people of all ages, sizes/shapes, cultures. It is definitely NOT a meat gym - every single time Ive been there and thats been at least 3x a week for almost a year - I have never been intimidated or felt out of place with overdeveloped bodies. Im a very average person who works out to improve my health. I think the person writing the other commentary was disappointed that they couldnt get a refund and thats not right, I understand as I had paid in full large amts of money to two gyms back home and they closed - along with my membership - this is why I bought my membership with 24 HR - in hopes that if I were to move/travel I could workout wherever I am - now I only pay about $50/yr + $10/mo as long as I use this upgraded gym. All in all - im pretty satisfied; I wish the Kids Club was open longer hours, but its nice, safe, clean, and cheap for 2 hrs of child care. Target & shopping is nearby, which is a huge plus because I can do my grocery shopping after. The downside is that this bldg is surrounded by fast food when you drive out of the parking structure so bring food to munch on right after so youre not tempted. Im going for a workout now!

My sister was a member of 24 hour fitness. She suspended her service in October due to an injury to her upper body that stopped her from being able to work out. They suspended the account immediately. She ended up having surgery in the end of December and she called and cancelled her services in January due to her recovery time being extended 4 months. Only her account was never suspended and she was charged over $120 worth of charges. No problem I told her to contact the manager and explain the situation and send him the surgery information including the doctors note as proof so you can get your money back. She called and spoke to Nick (the club manager) and he basically told her sorry to hear that but there was no way to know if she did call in because there wasnt any notes in system. I got on the phone and asked him why cant he credit her if she called in December (see I made a mistake and said December when she actually called in January) then he latched on to that accusing us of lying saying which one called and was it December or January. I told him that I made a mistake saying December because that is when she had to have surgery but nope he had another reason to say no. He called us liars and refused to even take the documentation to show that we are not lying. I asked for corporates number and he advised me that they wont do anything. In the end he said he cancelled her account on the phone (which is what the other person told her in January but I guess I should trust them now). To say that this is grossly poor customer services is an understatement and to Nick, the club manager, you have not heard the last of me. No ones steals from my sister and thinks that is the end of it. I will find every website that reviews your business and post this review there. I am sending a formal complaint to your corporate office and calling them, repeatedly reminding them of the horrible treatment that me (who could have been a potential client) and my sister (who could have used the services once she healed). With so many gyms competing for peoples business you would think that they would practice good courteous customer service to keep brand loyalty. So disgustedly disappointed in the entire experience.

While this gym is in a great location and has huge potential, 24 Hour Fitness seems to put their worst staff in this location time after time. Ive been a member for 4 years due to convenience and thankfully that will be coming to an end. The gym issues range from toilets being out of commission for weeks on end, equipment being out of order for unreasonable amounts of time, pins and clips missing on pully equipment, the jacuzzi being over-chlorinated to the point that chemical burns ensued on members skin, to the staff not knowing the details of their job. I once had a staff member ask me to put on a pair of shorts and a shirt while I was in the sauna because I was offending another member. I had compression shorts on. I find it unbelievable that a staff member would ask a member to put on a shirt in the sauna/pool area when its posted that "A swimsuit is required". If youre interested in playing basketball, dont bother. Management has a contract with a semi-pro basketball team that practices pretty much daily at the exact time you would want to play (roughly 4pm-7pm). The jacuzzi over-chlorination issue resulted in two lawsuits because 24 Hour didnt want to make things right with the members. A month of a free membership doesnt make up for chemical skin burns, respiratory burns or the doctor bills, so lawsuits were the only option. 24 Hour admitted to neglect which resulted in the over-chlorination. With so much to write, I almost forgot the random trash bins all over the gym attempting to catch the water leaking from the roof! This is not a new problem, the water leaks have been there since I became a member in the beginning of 2013. Its obvious they dont have any intentions to fix them either. Most of the issues could have been resolved by better staff, which I believe the company knows considering they have appointed a new GM four times in the four years Ive been a member. Im done overpaying for a sub-par gym with awful staff. Ill take my money to golds for $28/month or LA Fitness for $29/month instead of wasting $40/month at this place.

This gym has a good vibe going on and its busy during the 8pm-10pm time but not too busy. The size of the gym also helps it not feel so congested. The cardio floor (first floor) is plentiful albeit not kept incredibly clean, but then again 24 Hour Fitness is the Walmart of gyms--LA Fitness being the Kmart of gyms. The towels that 24 Hour Fitness gives its members (and you have to get them at check-in and theyre rationed, 1 hand and 1 bath towel per member) are like sandpaper rolled in thorns. Id rather use paper towels! The second floor houses the basketball court and the rest of the gym. Again, it has a good vibe and the members are your typical happily mixed crowd that you see throughout most of Florida. And just for the record, most of the panhandle west of Tallahassee really isnt considered Florida--its more like 1880s Alabama! As you go up the stairs, the free weights are to your left, the iso lateral machines are pretty much in front of you and all the other stuff and the cable station is to your right. Have fun! Back on the first floor, the locker room (mens) seems pretty clean but it didnt smell very clean. Im sure that has more to do with the members, but it was still pretty nasty. Yes, you will need your own lock. Im not a 24 Hour Fitness member, I just came as a guest for two days and it was a nice addition to Orlandos otherwise lacking gym collection. The gym gets four stars compared to the other mierda that Orlando has to offer.
