I first came to see the esthetician at this salon, Hector, through a living social coupon back in November 2012. I had never used a male esthetician before so I was a little apprehensive. Hector took that uneasy feeling away immediately. His skin knowledge and experience speaks volumes. The facial he gave me was unlike any other facial I had ever received. My face felt like velvet when he was finished. After the facial he spoke with me about a peel he uses on clients with acne. I have had peels and erbiums done to my skin several times to try to remove the acne scarring, to no avail. I was incredibly embarrassed by the scarring and I had pretty much given up. When Hector recommended this peel I didnt originally jump at it. After another facial with Hector, I finally decided to listen to him and try the peel in January. That ONE peel changed my complexion dramatically. I wish I had done it sooner. Hector treats my skin like his own. He is very passionate about making sure I have clear flawless skin. He has me take pictures and follows up with me between my peels to make sure my skin is peeling to his satisfaction. He is truly passionate and dedicated to giving his clients the complexion they deserve. I just had my 4th peel yesterday. The acne scarring is almost gone and my confidence has grown so much! All my friends notice the huge difference in my complexion and my husband is always talking about my glowing skin. I cannot say enough great things about Hector and his work!

thats actually true in so many ways. the first being, that i always wait until the last minute to reup my highlights and trim this mop. But once the cap comes off and he see what hes up against,Jess always grins a bears it. i walk out feeling human again. He was done a lot of work inside the salon, with hardwood floors, full length wood framed mirrors. and a friendly staff that each have their own unique style. so if your a first timer, come in and take a tour, meet the stylist, and decide who would be best for you depending on your needs. whether your looking for a stylist, colorist, or just someone to give you more hair than you already have...they are all here. And for you men, that may shy away from a salon. once you step into jess world all your concerns will fade away. Theres beautiful people everywhere and always something cool playing in the background. If money is i concern. talk with jess and hell be more than happy to discuss your options with you. Ive been coloring my hair since i was 15 and started coming here about 8 years ago. It was quite a challenge for them to bring it back to life, and it didnt break my bank. so give your hair a break and go to J Baumans, before it does it on its own

Im a brunette with short hair from Costa Rica living in Colombia. We came to Orlando for my husbands 1/2 Ironman this Sunday with orange hair (yes, orange)…I made the biggest mistake 5 days ago so I desperately decided to look for best hair colorist in Orlando and J. Bauman appeared. I usually dont trust internet recommendations but the site and the staff looked great so I made the appointment. Everything from the beginning was great!!!!!! The service on the phone, the salon, the receptionist, the attention, the recommendation of products for my hair...and TANYA is the BEST! She did such a great job I cant stop looking at myself! :) She did not only fixed my orange problem but she knew exactly what I liked and improved it! Now its me again but reloaded and funkier!!! ;) Ombré look on short hair is not an easy one! Tanya is definitely an artist and to see her working is inspiring. She was so excited with the change while she was working that I was excited too!! She and Carly did a great job. Thanks for everything guys! Ill definitely be back for my hair extensions! See you soon!

As a guy, its difficult to find a hair cut that balances affordability and convenience (like Supercuts) with quality (like a more seasoned salon). Thankfully youre able to find both at J Bauman. Ive been an Orlando native for 20 years, and have jumped around different barber shops and salons my entire life... Until I came here. The service, care, affordability, and quality make this my #1 go-to. I always get my hair cut by Neisjah, who is simply a master at shaping and styling both men and women. I came in for my first visit explaining how I wanted my hair cut, but really all I had to do was show her a picture and she just nailed it. Compliments came immediately after I switched to her. So of course, I returned, and as I became more familiar with the salon and her expertise, Im now at the point where I can go to Neisjah and just tell her to do whatever she thinks is best, with full trust and confidence in her "say no more" attitude, and the end result is always 100% satisfaction. As long as youre in the area, youre missing out by not paying Neisjah a visit.

Wanted a perm, got NOTHING from a hairstylist who had 20+ years experience! I wanted some curls since I have naturally straight hair, she said no problem, spent my entire day in there to have my hair be slightly frizzy, she tried teasing it more and more and it was horrible. I ended up having her blow dry it out straight. Then she did my eyebrows way too thin and I told her I had sensative skin and she made my eyelids scab over, it looked so bad!! She tried to charge me for the perm and I complained to the owner, so they took off the perm and still charged me for cut and bad eyebrows. The owner even had me come in 3 days later to look at my permed straight hair and gave me a bottle of conditioner, I guess to make me feel better. It didnt. This was actually my 3rd time there. The time before that, the other new hire gave me a 3 hour cut and blow dry lesson and made me so late I didnt even get to get my eyebrows done bc I had to be somewhere. The place looks nice but they lack in experience!!!!

Im not usually one to write reviews, but if youe looking for a new salon, DONT GO HERE! My natural hair color is dirty ash blonde. I had been coloring it dark black/brown for almost three years and about a year ago I started gradually going back to my natural hair color. When I went into J. Bauman, my hair was almost back to my natural hair color but was a little brassy on the ends. My roots were grown out a lot so you could definitely see the color I wanted. I explained to my hair stylist exactly what I wanted, pointed out my roots, and even brought pictures of the hair color and cut I wanted. Two-hundred and thirty dollars later, I had dark brown hair with platinum blonde zebra highlights and red streaks. The complete opposite of what I wanted and had been working so hard to achieve. For the money they charge, you should get perfection and I did not. About a month later I went to a different salon and got exactly what I wanted for almost half the price.
