Overall the place is pretty well maintained. The staff is friendly and quick to take notes if something is out of order. Sometimes the pool could use a little attention, but thats to be expected. The members are all pretty considerate and ask if youre using a particular piece of equipment or help out with a spot if youre by yourself. They lose a star with me for two reasons: The members are really bad about racking their weights when theyre done with them. The gym staff should do a better job of racking weights that are clearly not in use in between personal training appointments. Putting up a little sign doesnt help because this is a constant problem on the second floor of the gym and there are weights EVERYWHERE. The other reason is because of the machine maintenance, particularly the treadmills, bikes, stair climbers and ellipticals. There are usually multiple machines out of service and sometimes the machines are left for a couple of weeks. Life Fitness buys back broken machines (relatively quickly) but they have to be notified. They should probably hire a maintenance person to maintain the machines and stay on top of the service orders/schedules. Just a thought. This gym earns huge bonus points for having the supplement companies come in and demo products for the members.

I just signed up for a family plan. We were told during the orientation that we would be getting a "free fitness assessment" so we both (my wife and I) showed up. My wife was asked to show up 30 minutes earlier but the trainer was there late by an hour . In some other gyms, they offer you an assessment just to know where you are, but in this case you had to make an appointment for them to sell you a personalized training plan. If I had known in the first place that this was going to be an attempt to up-sell a plan, I would have said no thanks" - long story short, the trainer did not take a "let me think about it answer" very kindly and he turned from being a gentleman to a total jerk in milliseconds... literally slapped the information sheet on the table and left. Another thing I have observed is that some people dont show proper gym etiquette, they dont rack the weights back, I dont see a towel policy in place and therefore, people wont wipe their sweat after a workout. Staff needs to stay on top of these things and enforce policies for everyone to follow. I guess its "good enough" for what I need, but honestly? I am not impressed at all.

Leaving the gym because of work schedule. But towards the end of my experience Ive noticed the gym deterioating rapidly. Although they did make some improovements in february i believe with the renovation some updated equiptment (kettlebells, trap bar, new cable stations, some cardio equiptment and other accessories which are great) the gym is very dirty, dumbbells are never racked properly (partly in fault of the members) but it can be frustrating to hunt down equiptment both dumbells and attachments for the cables. I noticed members stealing equiptment also which sucks... The locker rooms could be neater, toilets are often messy. And Ive seen alot of mess on the gym floor. All in all I made some really good gains at this gym but due to work schedule opted to rejoin youfit for the lime card which is 20 bucks and gives me access to numerous gyms around my job and home. I was paying 30 for one messy gym which was a 15 minute drive from my house so it didnt really make sense to stay. Im gonna miss the trap bar, and for the most part not as crowded as most gyms, and always have a vacant squat rack because people hate doing leg day lol.

BEWARE OF THIEVES & ROBBERS INSIDE!!! Went to this gym for the first time with 2 other coworkers. One of them is a member so he was able to get us week passes. I left my wallet in the car but had to go back and grab it for registration. My friend placed his belongings in his locker and I placed my wallet and keysin also and he locked it with a thick lock. After working out we return and everything is gone except my keys; my wallet is gone, coworkers car key is taken and car has been burglarized, wallet, clothes, watch EVERYTHING taken. We went to the front and there was no staff at the front desk for about 15 minutes (anyone can sneak in or out unseen) and finally were told sorry there is nothing we can do but file a worthless report. My coworkers car is burglarized and we find out the place doesnt even have ANY cameras ANYWHERE. The staff then tells us about people sneaking in, and peoples stuff being stolen in the past and nothing has been done about it or warning signs letting us know. You have been warned and I hope the thief or thieves catch cancer.

I just moved to Plantation from Tampa and I joined this gym a few days ago only because is the most immediate one to home and I dont know the area. the fat mouth bald headed uncle Fester sales douche Yorker lied to my face about: 1)the place being cleaned and wiped every two hours (which i never believed) 2)there was no contract and we could cancel at anytime, even though he made me sign the electronic signature pad first just to surprise me after with "heres your contract" - "the big lawyer is reading the contract" 3)the place not being crowded. Ive been training for over 11 years, I guess you can call me a bodybuilder and I dont understand the need to try to scam people just to get them to joint their gym. How much I bet the good reviews in here are from people who dont know better how a gym should be run or the same sales people writing reviews just to try to attract innocent victims to come to their traps. LA FITNESS more like LA DOUCHEBAG FITNESS. PS; Im from NY and I dont go bout with a stupid accent preaching where I came from.

By far one of the worst LA Fitness locations that Ive ever been to. The weights are strewn about all of the time. You cant locate anything that you need in terms of free weights. Theres only one set of each of the dumbells, so good luck getting what you need, when you need it. I attempted to let management know about the situation several times. Unfortunately, it was a complete waste of my time, as the staff there are some of the dullest members of society (and Ive interacted with quite a few) They didnt even attempt to correct the situation or hear my concerns. They are happy to be one of the crappiest gyms around, with unhappy members, and a non-existent management team. They recently did a "renovation". This consisted of new floors, a few new treadmills and some other cosmetic band-aids, which I can only assume is some pathetic attempt to cover up the real issues. Sorry LA, utter fail. I only wish I could give this gym and their management 0 stars.

This gym is nicely updated. They have good equipment and nice bathrooms/locker rooms. Unfortunately, its not very clean. The cardio machines are usually sticky and nasty looking. Rarely anyone cleans off their equipment after use and apparently neither does the staff. Upstairs the free weights and other equipment are rarely in their place, roaming around making it a game of hide and seek for me. The staff is okay. They cant seem to keep a personal trainer there longer than a month. Every time I get familiar with one, they disappear. They also dont seem to keep record of who they call and how many times they call, regarding their "free introductory session". I got called 5 times in a week to schedule it, after I already scheduled it and even once DURING my session.
