David is awesome. My girlfriend has been having issues with her 98 Acura over the past 2 years and we have spent a good amount of money on repairs at various shops. These guys at Capital City Auto Repair just won over our business for all future repairs. When her A/C went out in the hottest July on record in Tallahassee, something had to be done. I recharged the freon on my own and within two weeks it was back to blowing hot air, meaning there was a leak somewhere. I called up the shop to get a quote and one of Davids employees answered the phone in a friendly manner, and when I asked to speak with David, he told me he was out to lunch, but that he would be back in 10-15 minutes and offered to take down my info and relay the message. Within 10 minutes I received a call and David already had already been briefed on the issue, but wanted to know more details. He said to drop it by in the morning and they would take care of us. Sure enough, they did. David kept in touch with me, very professionally, throughout the entire day via phone calls and texts (if I initiated the text). The entire crew is very customer service oriented, and all about making the customer happy. He ran the dyed freon through the lines and found the leak to be within the compressor, which meant big bucks. There were also two fuses and fan switches not functioning, so in order to get the compressor running, the switches needed to be replaced. He gave me a call and informed me of the situation and I gave him the okay to move forward. He then diagnosed the leak in the compressor and had to replace the compressor. This is when my heart sank. I was hoping it would just be the switches for a couple hundred bucks and maybe a leak in a replaceable rubber gasket, but when he said compressor, I was thinking $$$$$... He didnt charge me labor for several things, and got me a brand new compressor, new fuses and switches, with taxes and labor at just under $900. Also, when I picked up the vehicle, he took the time to open the hood and show me all of the new parts, which most places wouldnt take the time to do. Given that the car had multiple issues, mechanically AND electrically, I felt like leaving at under $900 was a heck of a deal. Granted, no one wants to spend that much money on an old car, ever.. But the damage would have been much worse (I did actually call around and get multiple quotes of $1,400 and more). Add to that the incredible customer service, and you have yourself a gem of an auto repair shop. Dont judge these guys based on their location, because they really do go above and beyond for their customers. David, thank you again for getting my girlfriends car nice and cold again, especially with school starting back up! - Jon

I knew this place was going to be good from the amazing reviews, but I had no idea how good! This being my first visit, I had no idea what to expect. As soon as I pulled in David was immediately ready to help me with whatever I needed. I needed a belt replaced and he was able to do this in about 5 minutes flat! Ive never seen an employee work as quick and as clean (with great bedside manner as well) at any other shop. He also went above and beyond after learning that I would be taking a long trip, and checked my fluid levels and tires as well. To top it off, he gave me the best deal I could ever imagine since it only took 5 minutes! ALL the other places I called told me it would take 1.5 hours and cost $78 bucks, but he quoted me 30 minutes and $40 bucks. And it was even cheaper and quicker than that! I have never had a better experience; I had to immediately go home and write a great review. You will not regret choosing this auto repair place over all others, I promise. David is absolutely magnificent and I could not have been more surprised at how he could turn a financial/time crunch into a great experience. Great job, David!

David is a great, honest guy. He was able to take my car to fix a spark plug first thing on a Monday morning. I left him my car and started walking home (John Knox area) and he met me as I approached lake ella and offered to drive me the rest of the way so I didnt have to walk in the heat. Ive never met a mechanic who cared about his clients so much, and trust me Ive been through plenty of mechanics in the past few years. He also took the time to explain everything to me in terms Id understand. He had no problem answering any questions I had. I went back a second time for another problem just 30 mins before he closed and he was still just as patient in explaining why my car was acting up. And he was always up front with what the repairs would cost, never threw in a hidden fee on me. Id recommend anyone go here, he didnt get these reviews for no reason. The shop may be small and not seem like much on the outside, but its all about the great staff on the inside. Thanks so much to David and his crew for taking care of my car!

Im not one to to write reviews and I typically do my own work on cars. I acquired a project that was a little too much for me, asked around, and David at Capital City Auto Repair was recommended to me. Ive never trusted a mechanic but we talked and I was impressed by his level of knowledge on my rare vehicle (1978 Chevy Nova.) Not to mention his quote was almost HALF of what any other shop quoted me. So I took it to him. Repairs were completed ahead of schedule at EXACTLY the price he quoted (no surprises) and the cars been a blast to drive ever since. He made my little project a reality. The only way I could think to thank him was to write a glowing review and give him my personal seal of approval. From one car guy to another; this guy can handle whatever you throw at him!! Thanks, David! Youll be my only resource when it comes to something I need handled at a price I can afford!!!

My 2 sons were visiting in Tallahassee when they got into an accident. Although they werent injured, the passenger door of the car was damaged enough that it wouldnt close/latch and was therefore unsafe to make their 13 hour drive home. David went above and beyond by finding a used replacement door, trying to keep the cost down for me while still getting my boys back safely on the road. And in an almost impossible time-frame, since my oldest had to be back to report to his Navy recruiter and of course the accident happened just days before they were due to return home! I am ever so thankful that we were referred to Capital City Auto Repair, and deeply grateful to David for taking care of my sons during a very stressful time (and when momma couldnt be there). These days its hard to find someone like David - an honest young man with awesome work ethics!

I have finally found THE place to go to fix my truck. I have tried Bobs, Premiere, Superlube, you name it. I scheduled to drop off my truck today (unlike other places who just say to drop it off and take days (like Bobs)) and had it back before the end of the business day. David, the owner, called me every step of the way. I had a bad coil he replaced and I had a leak in the coolant system. He did one at a time and let me know the price before doing any work and kept me updated on how it was running after. He also showed me the bad part from the leak when I arrived to pick it up which was amazing and I was reassured. It runs smoothly now and I was never stressed today about my truck. I would recommend this place to anyone as I was recommended by my roommate. Best experience in Tallahassee and Ive been here for 6 years with truck problems all the time.
