I read the reviews and was shocked to see such petty grievances about staff performance, too many televisions, locks, restrooms, the lack of a sauna and more free weights! Complaints about free bagels and pizza and candy machines! Really!!!! I have not experienced any of those issues except the sauna but I (and anyone else) can do that at home. In fact, I prefer my own personal sauna experience at home so that should be a non factor. I was unaware of the pizza and bagels but that should be viewed as either an incentive to lose weight and get in shape by staying away from the pizza and bagels or as a way to treat yourself AFTER a workout or even as a way the facility management is showing appreciation for their patrons. It isnt mandatory for patrons to indulge in those treats but people coming into the gym after a hard day at work and in traffic might appreciate those treats so I say keep the pizza and bagels. Yes, there are a lot of tvs and music and they create noise, which I prefer. I mean who really wants to work out in a library or mausoleum? I thrive on that noise but it doesnt bother me because like 99.9% of the people there working out......I being my own music. The tvs are fine so that other .1% complaining about tvs should probably get onboard. Those complaining about lack of equipment had to know what they were getting into when they signed up. Didnt you do a walk through before joining the gym? The fact is, with new amenities comes an increase in price of membership so for the very reasonable and much appreciated price for which I am charged every month, what do you expect? If PF is not for you then consider joining another gym with more amenities, wierd hours of operations, a higher monthly fee or workout at home. It has been my experience that the staff here is courteous and professional. The facility is clean, well laid out with ample equipment to serve my needs and it seems like those working or around me are pleased as well. I was once a member at another PF, joined another gym that was closer to my home but now PF is once again near me and I made a great choice by rejoining. Cant beat the price and location. They earned a solid 3.5 stars. 2 reasons why they dont get 5 stars is because a.) They have a sign posted in the weight room defining what PF defines as a "lunk". The definition is derogatory to me and others like me because some of the "definition" pertains to me. I am not amused and it seems like reverse bullying for which I have little to no appreciation for and it takes away from an otherwise positive gym experience. B.) I recently arrived to the gym around 8am. The first thing I saw was broken auto glass window on the ground as if a vehicle had been broken into. I certainly didnt expect that......not so soon but I do know the area. Seeing that kind of dashed my thoughts about using the gym anytime after dark between 7pm and 7am. This also has a hand in why the facility earned 3.5 stars.

I purchased a lock at this Planet Fitness location on 12/11/2016. The representative at the desk ask me if I wanted to have the cost applied to my credit card on file. I told him no and gave him $6.00 cash. I checked my bank statement at the end of the month and found a charge on my account from PF for $6. I contacted PF and spoke to someone on the phone on 1/3/2017 and explained my concern. She said she would call me back on 1/4/2017 in the morning but I did not receive a call nor did I get her name. I called on 1/4/2017 and spoke with Amber I ask to speak with a manager but Amber wanted to vet the call and prepared it for the manager. I was on hold for 20 min. I hung up and called back and hour later. Spoke with Amber again. This time I asked for the name of the manager along with a direct contact number. I was told the managers name is Ashele but Amber did not know the direct contact number for the manager. She said she would not put me on hold and kept the line open for 5 min then I was placed on hold and no one came back to address my concern. I called the corporate customer service number and spoke with a rep. I was informed that she could not address my concern but would send a message to the manager or upper management to address my concern. I am not concerned about the $6 it is the principle of the matter. I do not like giving companies unlimited access to my bank account because issues like this happen. Warning if you are a member of PF that this can happen to you. I did not receive a receipt and I wanted to verify my signature is on file for the purchase on 12/11/2016. Please beware members and from now on I will always get a receipt and keep it in place just to make sure this doesnt happen again+. PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

Its a nice gym I did a tour of it on Halloween 2016. Its located behind Greenbriar Mall which is very convenient since there isnt very much traffic in that area like there is at Camp Creek & Cascade which is the SOLE REASON that I was drawn to this place. They have weight machine, lots of treadmills, exercise mats, TVs,etc. But my problem is that they want DIRECT ACCESS TO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT such as the routing number plus your account number for your membership. I REALLY WANTED a MEMBERSHIP but I just dont feel comfortable giving them that kind of information. I even called this location & offered to use cash as a way to pay everything up front like fees then pay $10 cash every month because I was going to get the $10 plan but they said NO. And them having access to your bank account is the ONLY way for you to have a membership. This gym is new by the way. I would suggest that they have a cash & credit card option. That is my only gripe with them. Loved everything else about the inside but having direct access to my bank account is where I had to draw the line. Once this policy changes I will join immediately. But youd be a lot better off going to the YMCA. I went ahead and got a membership at the YMCA and they even offered financial assistance based on income so I only pay $20 a month and they have a pool.

On a scale of 5 Stars I would give the gym 3, the staff 5, the overall experience 4. The gym needs more free weights, maybe a sauna room. I was told I cant bring my gallon of water in the gym but you have a gallon of tootsie rolls on the front desk. I was also told I cant grunt I have to be quiet when I lift weights. If you do your reviews PF lets you no everything up front what to expect. No this gym is not better than Golds or LA Fitness but I will give them credit its a great gym with great customer service. I have recommended at least 10 of my friends but I make sure to tell them all the details of the gym before they join.
