I got my first hair cut at this barbershop last week, and honestly, my expectations have been blown away! Kevin was out, and in his place was a very skilled stylist whom gave me the first haircut that people have noticed, for the better, and Ive received more complements this week about my haircut than the past 10 years combined! Im embarrassed that I didnt remember his name, and that is not fair to him, as he cuts a guys noggin like it should be. Hes a DC transplant, and now that Ive received so many compliments, I trust his statement that he has cut hair for decades. Honestly? Most times when I go into a shop, I have a picture, and they do their best to recreate. Most times, the end result is close, but not perfect. This time, I presented a pic of what I thought it should be, and this guy took it to the next level. Sure, it was initially interesting... Not quite what I expected.... Totally in the same ball-park as my pic or what Im used to, but now with an edge, a swagger, and a style that brought out my best facial attributes. Ill be back, month after month in attempts to recreate the magic, and now I that I know that its wasteful to spend so much money on a Midtown Atlanta stylist studio, when you can get a better haircut, and bang for your buck at this place, why would I ever go back to "Salon Life"? For dudes with mid to longer hairstyles, God Bless you, and rock that mane out! I have no idea if this barber shop is right for you. For dudes whom look their best with a shorter hairstyle, or have a receding hairline like mine, stop wasting your money and time at a fancy hair salon. These dudes here have seen it all, have perfected their craft for decades, and are adamant about hooking you up with the best haircut to meet your needs and appearance. Im very fortunate to have stumbled across this local legend, basically based on their great online reviews. Now as a customer, I can attest for their skillset, their craft, and their ability to make a dude look handsome! Which, for me, takes a lot of work! And now that theyve made the impossible, possible, of course I have no other choice but to come back for more, and hopefully more repeated successes! This is only the third business that Ive reviewed. I wouldnt have taken the time unless this shop was worthy. Now, if I could only get better with names! Dammit! This stylist was amazing!

I visited this barber shop on December 8, 2013 after being told I had a 45-minute wait at Great Clips down the road. When youre being stacked up against Great Clips, quality is clearly not the highest priority, but I really do wish I had waited it out. I do not recall her name, but my hair was cut by the blonde woman whose chair sits next to Kevins. This poor girl is so beautiful, I am sure no one has ever told her she doesnt know how to cut hair. She asked if I wanted my hair medium or short length while showing me the lengths with my own hair. I requested medium length, and she immediately pulled out a pair of clippers and started buzzing the back of my head. I had intended to request a scissor cut (which is extra here, by the way), but I had no time at all to react before she started ruining my hair. When the cut was finished, I had only a $50 bill to pay, and she asked me, "How much change do you want?" instead of giving me my change and allowing me to tip in peace. Mind you, for $18 I wasnt expecting the best haircut or service in the world, but the overall quality at this location was the worst I have ever observed. I will never return to this location, and I hope my review has convinced you to do the same.

I went to the same old barbershop in NJ my whole life until I moved down here, and after several sub-par experiences I kept looking and found this place. Comfortable inside, no wait (at 11am on a Saturday), no BS, just a great haircut. The best part, I didnt have to give a detailed song and dance about what kind of haircut I wanted. The barber did a good, careful job, and for just a couple dollars more than the crappy great clips down the road! ($17, July 10) It was probably the nicest haircut Ive had. Ill be back!

I had been taking care of my hair on my own but I needed professional touch this time. Been to Ginos same day, told there is no open space available by a very inattentive receptionist. I guess Ginos doesnt value every customer now that they are pretty popular and demand is high. Thus, I came to West Barber Shop. Its been about 2 years I havent been here. Used to be the same, still very friendly staff and welcoming environment. Also friendlier to wallet as well lol. I would recommend and will definitely go back.

This is bar none the best value for a very high quality cut. Kevin is great, and so is everyone else, so dont be afraid if you walk in and hes busy. Still 17$ for a normal cut! Very nice details, and the guys have a perfect mix of speed and delicacy. For example, the used a straight razor behind my ears, not a single nick. This is basically the price of Great Clips. Men, do not ever go there or anywhere else for your haircut in Atlanta.

Great haircut for a great price. For those of you who have read Kevin Duffys negative review below, do not put much weight on it. I had the same negative experience as he did with the beautiful blonde girl deciding on her own to give me a buzz cut. However, she is long gone. I now have my hair cut by the owner (Also named Kevin) and he does a great job. The other barbers there seem competent as well.

Kevin is a perfectionist. Hes extremely precise and articulate. He will not let you leave the shop unless you are completely satisfied with your cut. If there is something wrong and you let him know, he will fix it immediately without question. I highly recommend him. Do not hesitate to go in and see him for yourself.

This is an old fashion barber shop. A hair cut is $17 (as of Feb 09) and they do a good job (at least this review is based off of one experience). The guys there look like theyve been around for a while, they have 3 chairs here. The place has a old style feeling. They also offer beard trims and shaves.

I have been going to this barber shop for 3 years and by far the best in Atlanta. Kevin does excellent work and succeeds in any style haircut that I ask of him. If you are looking for quality service, family atmosphere, and a reasonable price then West Barber Shop is right for you.

Ive been going to this location for over three years now, ever since I was in college. Kevin, the owner, is my barber and he gives me a great haircut each and every time. Great service at a great price. I would recommend West Barber Shop to anybody located in Atlanta.

What a great old school barber! It reminded me of getting my hair cut in New York. No-nonsense, quality and cost effective. They also pay attention to the little things (straight razor on neck, hot towel, moisturizer, eyebrows, ears, etc). Found my barber shop!
