After growing my hair out for about 3 months I went in for a cleanup...trim the sides, line up, etc...anyways after calling in to confirm a spot everything should have been cool but it wasnt. First off, FEMA did a better job about Katrina then these sorry guys do about waiting. I walked in and nobody I mean nobody was in the waiting room but me. There had to been about 5 barbers in the back joking around cussing....pretty much doing what black guys do...aka nothing related to work. I questioned the young lady at the desk and she stated to me they had appointments and one was almost done in the back. I figured 5 no more then 10 minute wait was ok since I was already there and I sat down in some cheesy barber chairs from the 50s. About 20 minutes later the same guy who I saw in back chilling was like he was ready for me. I asked where was the other guy who I was waiting on....to see his cut...and he said he was washing his face in the bathroom. I told the barber just clean me up, lite fade around the sides and lineup. We confirmed and BAM he screws up!!! He went against the grain and turns out he had the wrong guard. So he tries fixing it and DOUBLE BAM he just messed up again. All the other barbers were laughing and my barber was like dont worry it was his way of cutting hair. I jumped out the chair said I wasnt paying and I was leaving....thats when things got real... himself and all the other barbers were like "you gonna pay and quit tripping". Not only did they tell me what to do they approached me in a manner that resulted in my back becoming against the wall which I quickly reached toward my glock 357 by my waist. Im permitted to carry a weapon in Georgia and have been for years but this was the first time Ive ever felt as if I needed it. Long story short dont go to 71 barber shop unless you dont care about your hair or time or better yet safety. Oh and by the way I DIDNT PAY

I visited on Aug 1, 2011 with my two sons.. The place itself is "cute" not the barbershop atmosphere that you would usually get. Before i go into the donts the gentlemen in the far back left corner did a great job on my oldest son cut I was very happy with the results.I dont know his name dark skin, very nice low black hair with beard and he wears braces. Perfect Now.... 1st when I arrived the young lady had to look outside for barbers because they were nowhere to be found inside the shop none! 2nd there was one who came inside the only one there to cut my sons hair by the name of Jamie (short light skin with a bunch of tattoos) who the young lady at the front clearly looked over at least 3 times trying to find another to do cut my his hair . ....NOW I see why!!! 3rd upon my return I could clearly see that my youngest hair was NOT cut right and was RUSHED... I could have done a better job... he was complaining that his head hurts and burns ALL OVER... Hes 8 has had several hair cuts Ive never seen him unhappy with a haircut. I complained and he re-cut and didnt charge me. Get it right the 1st time no need for a 2nd 4th Today EVERYWHERE that he lined even the poorly done design has left razor cuts that Ive treated with neosporin 5th when I called to advise the young lady said "ok what do you want me to do" o_0 Never again!!!

Being from Atlanta, I can honestly say this is THE Premier Barbershop. I have been to others, but the 71 Barbershop has kept me as a consistent customer for almost 2 years now. Each visit the receptionist has made me feel welcome, and as if I were their most important client. The barbershop offers parking validation (a plus) with any of their services. My barber, Cleveland, is always on time, and professional. If there is any hint of a schedule issue, or if he will be out of town, he will personally text his clients weeks in advance to notify of his absence. Cleveland and I have build a good relationship during our time and I am always impressed by the consistency of his cuts and fades. There have been a few times where I have been running late for a meeting, and he will go out of his way to be sure I have a clean shave or kept eyebrows at no extra charge. I am a very pleased customer, and frequently change my schedule to travel back to Atlanta for a cut during times when I am away from home. Cleveland is my barber, and I would love for others to stop by and give him a visit, though all the barbers I have interacted with at this establishment have been highly skilled and professional.

I was referred to the barbershop by a friend of mine from the area since I was visiting the city from Baltimore. I went in and the receptionist was helpful and professional. There were about 2-3 other walk-ins waiting. My wait time was about 10 minutes which was to be expected considering the barber-to-client ratio. (dope) I went on a Friday morning. Not only was it a late Friday morning but also the Friday before a 3 day weekend. Wait time was excellent when you consider these things in ATL. The barber that took my cut was described in a review as "meticulous and professional" and he was. Kept cordial conversation light, wasnt invasive, and gave me a sense of confidence while in the chair and after it was over. The prices, for a shop of that demeanor was to be expected. The only thing I probably overpaid for was the tip and parking. (Dont park in the MARTA garage). Overall - the barbershop was clean, chic, masculine, professional, and had excellent promotions on foursquare. Im waiting for someone to talk me out of spending $275 every two weeks just to come to Lindbergh from Baltimore for a cut.

This barbershop is one of the best in Atlanta. The staff are always polite and the atmosphere is always inviting. This shop caters to everyone with a plethora of services offered (which can be found along with prices on their website). I like the online appointment booking system. Very efficient! 71 is very clean and has a relaxing environment. My barber moved to this location a few years back--his name is Cleveland. He goes above and beyond to ensure that my haircuts are just right! He is thorough and takes pride in his work. Very attentive barber. He is definitely a master of his craft and has been my barber for the last five + years or so. I have never been disappointed! He is great! (BOOK with him! Seriously, you wont regret it) Again, I definitely recommend! If you want a clean, professional cut go to 71! *Oh and park in Garson Deck (after 8am) (The shops front desk receptionist validates) Always a pleasant experience. Signed, A Loyal Customer

They will over charge you for bullshit service. I have locs so I needed a shape up, sign said $10 first visit so I was like cool. I get in there quick, nice set up but false advertisement & lack of professionalism. So before we start I ask the barber is he skilled to line up locs he says oh ya he been cutting for a long time. After my cut I had to point out the hair around my ears, my sides wasnt the same, which he did fix I rarely ever have to point out mistakes from my other barber it gets done right the first time. After he was finished I asked how much he said $30 wtf for what. He said I got a full cut $15, + $10 for razor line up (which I didnt ask 4) + $5 for my shave I barely even had hair on my face. Warning be careful what your getting "Never again" I will stick to my normal hood barber that is more professional & skilled
