The Cheesecake Factory at the Mall of Georgia is easily accessible, well decorated and full of staff. My experience was a 6:15 Wednesday evening dinner and less than expected. The wait time was very short and we were seated promptly. The hostess wasnt overly friendly but showed us to our table without delay. It was some time before our waitress Amber Z came around to get our drink order and after serving us our tea, we were ready to give our order but she disappeared to quickly to take it. After another few minutes, she returned to take our order. During our extended wait for out food, she did not check on us to refill out tea. She had to be summoned and astonishingly asked, with my tea glass sitting on the edge of the table, if I wanted a refill. Again, several minutes later, she refilled my glass with tea, but no ice. Our entrees arrived shortly thereafter but minutes apart. Practically before the plates were on the table, Amber asked how everything was. She did not check on us again until we had to summon her for additional condiments. When she returned to bring us our ketchup, my tea glass was again empty but ignored by her. My wife finished her meal first and was looking forward to her dessert of infamous cheesecake. I was still eating and told her that if Amber did not come around before I was finished we would simply get the check and leave. Amber only appeared because she had to again be summoned. We requested a to go box and cheesecake. During this time my wife visited the ladies restroom only to be disgusted in its condition. I went to check on the mens room and found it to be worse than most gas station rest rooms. When Amber brought our cheesecake, I informed her of the deplorable conditions of BOTH restrooms and she stated that the hostess took care of the ladies and there was no male hostess so it had not been checked. I mentioned wanting to speak to the manager and she made haste to check on her other table and quickly brought us the check. I believe this place has serious management issues and while maybe we had a lousy waitress, this experience, given the conditions, the lack of service and the prices, We have no desire to return. The food itself was good but not great. The portions overly generous, served hot and tasty. The cheesecake, as always and expected were great ! Update: The general manager gave me a call to discuss my experience. He assured me that my experience was not their normal practice and that all involved would be advised of my complaint and he invited me back to give them another try. I felt better that he took the time to call and hopefully my next visit will be better.

I would not go to this restaurant if one of the parents I coached for didnt give me a gift card to this place. From the looks of it, the restaurant is clean and the decorations are nice. The service was horrible - we had a bad experience...I felt like the meal was not worth the service. Okay, we sat down - a server just comes by dropped a stack of plates layered on top with handkerchieves and utensils. It was there for us and I guess we had to layed out the plates and food for ourselves. Then the entire time, we felt like we rushed to place our orders. Her body language had her hands resting around her waists like we needed to hurry up. Then when we had a question about the menu item when we were placing - she would rush through her answer. She came by our table 3 times I counted...never refilled our waters nor ask anything else. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and a hot fudge sundae. The bill ended up to be 80 dollars...I honest felt the way we were treated was not worth the bill. I could have service and cooked my own food. Food was not bad but the service and how it made me felt like a burden to be there and how I felt like this server did not even bother to do her job. She just ran back to our table dropped the check and the change right there. Did even bother to ask if we enjoyed our meal or anything. The restaurant definitely need to train its employees to make others felt welcomed and treated as guests. I felt like a criminal or I have offended her for being there or something. We are decent people - at the end of the day we tipped 14 dollars. Maybe she was having a bad day - we gave her the benefit of the doubt. It really left a bad taste in my mouth leaving that restaurant. I will definitely not be going to Cheesecake factory nor any of its chain restaurants again.

This afternoon/evening we had a party of five celebrating my daughters 18th birthday. I called the restaurant beforehand to learn the protocol regarding birthdays and was told that they acknowledge patrons birthdays by giving a free dessert and singing happy birthday. Neither of those occurred despite the fact that I told the hostess at the lobby counter, the host that walked us to our table, as well as the waiter (3 different people) that it was my daughters birthday. The food was fine and the service was ok (felt a little rushed like he wanted to get us out of there ASAP). I paid over $180 including a generous tip, but was actually disappointed that my daughter didnt get her free desert and song (actually, no real acknowledgement of her birthday at all). Of course I could have simply reminded the waiter (again) that it was her birthday, but I figured after telling 3 people the same thing, that shouldve been sufficient. Two of us got drink refills but instead of fresh drinks they were literally refilled, old melted ice-water and all, resulting in drinks that were almost as watered down as they were before the refill. I had a soda so this was very noticeable. Rating would have been at least 4 stars were it not for these issues. Youd think for the $ I spent we would not have experienced those things.

Best part of our dining experience was getting seated right away. However? things went downhill from there. Our waiter brought our drinks and bread and proceeded to take our order. We were very hungry as we had fasted the entire day and it was finally time to break our fast. We were about to eat the bread, but noticed we were missing plates. I asked the waiter for saucers and he told me hed get them after taking our orders. After I explained how hungry we were due to fasting and demanded he bring them at that moment, he stopped taking our order and retrieved plates for us. Our food didnt take long, but my mashed potatoes were cold and didnt taste very fresh. When I told the waiter, he stated the mgr would be over and took my entire plate. The mgr (Linda- I believe) was not smiling when she came over and introduced herself. She asked about the meal and I told the potatoes were cold. I agreed to keep my food and only have my potatoes replaced. She offered no apology. My plate was returned to me with a new batch of potatoes, which tasted exactly like the previous ones. We did not get drink refills and the service overall was lacking. My husband was disappointed in his meal as well. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
