Today just ended my daughters experience with PreK at this school after the constant letting go of the staff hit her final remaining teacher, who has been there for years with a perfect record. Her teachers were amazing, so I overlooked many of the other issues, such as how disgusting the place was...How the owner suggested I lie about going to school for my BSN and apply for LPN just to get CAPS to cover the cost of my child in daycare. The staff up front was constantly gossiping about other families. I was constantly reminded that my child was in the "government class" so not entitled to field trips, graduation, and other befits the private class was, although field trips and other celebrations for graduation are encouraged on Bright from the start. When my child was in the hospital for 6 days, we returned with emergency meds for a seizure. I was told to bring them back the following week when the director was back from her week long training, which of course meant my child couldnt be left there. After that, it took a month for the owner to have his attorney type up legal papers to administer if needed. Until that time, I knew my childs teacher would do anything to help her, because she was amazing - loved my child - face timed with her many times through the terrible experience of being diagnosed with Epilepsy at CHOA....THe director and owner never once even bothered to ask how she was. Instead, I was told to get a doctors note to excuse her absence for her record. The only thing this place is about is money. While I am glad my child had an amazing experience with her wonderful teachers, I am sad it ended early, and she missed out on the experience of completing PreK and saying goodbye to her teachers and friends.

I wish I could say that I experienced all of the wonderful things that are claimed in the other ratings. The owner Tom reminds me of a used car salesman. He talks fast and over you so you really cant ask any detailed questions about the facility. I got the run around on if the teachers in the Toddler class had a degree. I got so many answers I couldnt even say if she does or doesnt which is sad. The poor kids slurp on snot all day while the teachers watch. They claim "oh yeah they always keep their faces clean"...well seeing is believing and I sat in the classroom twice while the poor babies roamed around with gross faces. I dont know when they teach them the stuff thats on the lesson plan because from what I saw, it looks like the teachers lounge on the floor while the toddlers roam aimlessly looking for something to do. When you walk in they dont greet you even as a guest. I watched multiple parents come in and out as well and if the parent didnt say anything neither did they. Even while I was on tour, walking through the halls none of the employees greeted me and that sad because I should feel welcomed. I almost enrolled my daughter here because it was the best of the worst that Canton has to offer in my area. Thankfully I found somewhere else that isnt convenient, but believes in hygiene, using school time to TEACH and genuinely welcoming each and every person into their building...before and after they have your money.

Edited May 9, 2014 - I would just like to reiterate how pleased I have been with this school. My son is now six years old and has spent almost every weekday at this school since he was about eight months old. I have never experienced an issue with a teacher in all of these years and have only ever been pleased with the care and attention my child receives from the staff. I realize that its impossible to please everyone all of the time, but as someone who has seen been present and involved with this school since its opening, I can truly and honestly say that Tom and Stephanie and all of the teachers really do care about your childs well-being and happiness. Our son has been a happy student of this Goddard School since he was an infant three years ago. I have nothing but accolades for the Director, the owner and all of the staff and they have all been such a large part of my childs development. He is a well-adjusted and smart critical thinker and I know I have the staff at Goddard to thank for his happy nature. It is always a difficult decision to place your child in the care of others, but I know my son is loved and nurtured while he is at this school. The teachers take an active interest in his development - even after he has moved to the next class. My family takes great comfort in knowing that there are such dedicated, responsible, educated and loving people willing to care for our child.

We placed our son in to this school about a year ago, and we have to move and it just breaks my heart. Never could I have imagined a better preschool/childcare facility. One of the many awesome things that sets this school apart from the rest is that the teachers and staff truly love the children they are caring for. The employees all have diverse backgrounds from special needs to business and it makes for a well rounded staff. we dont have family here, but the Goddard School comes pretty darn close. My child has autism, but he knows EVERY staff members name. They have reached out to him and it means so much to us. They are teaching spanish and he could count from 1-10 in Spanish. His teacher taught him the days of the week already! We would never leave, except we HAVE to move far away. We were hoping to keep him there for Pre-K! We also love their once-a-month "parents night out." The kids have a great time and we get a date night. This immaculate school emphasizes communication. Any time we have a concern, theyre ready to listen and act. They are always working to improve anything they can. Not that there is much they need to improve! We hope they continue to attract such wonderful staff, and we wish this school many, many years of success. Worth every penny. Thank you for taking such great care of my son, and always listening when we had questions or concerns or feedback or praise!

Goddard School Canton II: We love the care that our 18 month old daughter is receiving at school. Tom and Jennifer know how to manage and operate the school well and it shows. I would also like to congratulate and give thanks to both Ms. Paula and Ms. Mada for the excellent care they have been giving our daughter every day. It did not take very long for us to notice the difference since we made the decision to leave a local daycare and chose Goddard over all the other schools we interviewed in the area. Since we started our daughter has learned to sign all done, please, thank you and more. She is talking more and more every day and she loves to dance and show us her new moves when she gets home. She is such a happy little girl now and looks forward to going to school and does not cry when we leave her. We believe that the daily structure of activities that Goddard provides and teaches is allowing our daughter to learn and excel. We love the fact that we can decide what our daughter eats every day by either packing lunch food or purchasing the food from the 3rd party food provider they have chosen. Keep up the great work! I highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking for a quality place they can trust.
