Initially I brought my car to Tower with an overheating problem. I was told that my water pump needed to be replaced. The job got done and I thought that everything would be fine. It was a little pricey but at least I was back on the road. The next morning, my car overheated. Just for a few minutes and then everything seemed to be working alright. A couple of days later a check engine light came on. I went to an auto parts store that does free checks but for some reason their machine was unable to tell what the problem was. I called Tower and told the receptionist about the overheating problem and the check engine light and asked if I could bring my car in the next morning. I was told that the next morning was full up and that it would be better to bring it in during the afternoon. I decided to just leave it overnight hoping that it would be taken care of quickly. When I called in the morning I was told that the person who needed to look at it wouldnt be there until after lunch. When I called after lunch, I was told that he was busy on another car and he would get to it when he could. When I called right before closing time, I was told that he hadnt had time to get to it, but he would start on it in the morning. If I were a mechanic, and I worked on someones car, and they brought it back a few days later saying that it was having the same problem that I had "fixed", I would make that car my number one priority. Not so at Tower. The following afternoon, I called and said that I was coming to pick up my car because I had to leave for work by 2 PM. At this point I was told that there was a blockage in my radiator and that it needed to be replaced. I was also told that the check engine light came on because of a bad air pump switching valve. When I arrived I was charged $69.95 to tell me about the check engine light and told that replacing the radiator would cost $525. At no point was any explanation given as to why this wasnt noticed the first time. Immediately after driving away from the shop, my car overheated. Things were now worse than when I had arrived. I was unable to go to work. After leap-frogging my car home, I started calling around to other shops in the area. Every single one gave me a lower price on replacing the radiator by at least $75. I took the car to another shop who did the work in a matter of hours and also found that the housing for the thermostat (which Tower had installed) was leaking. My experience with Tower has been the worst of any mechanic shop I have ever been to. I will never return and I will recommend that others stay far away.

I was out of town in Dawsonville and I brought my car in on a Saturday because it was idling oddly and felt like it might die. The owner of Tower Automotive told me they couldnt work on the car until Monday but I could drive around in their free rental for the weekend which was very nice. However I did not have a good experience with this company. Tower called me on Monday to tell me that I had an oil leak and there was oil on my spark plugs and that I needed to get all my spark plugs replaced including the wiring and also needed an induction service and to have the throttle body cleaned for a cost of $850. I just felt like this was a lot of work to be done on my car and I called my local automotive shop in my hometown to discuss the situation with them. They asked me if Tower Auto told me where the leak was coming from I said no. They said well it doesnt make sense to repair the damage if they dont fix the problem which I agreed with. My shop told me that they knew of a fix for this and they instructed me to tell Tower Automotive to only replace the spark plug which would get me home safely and then they would be able to replace the cover which they felt was causing the leak. I spoke with the owner at Tower Automotive and I clearly told him to only replace the spark plug which he told me would cost $150. We talked at length about this and he told me my car would be ready on Tuesday. I figured that the high cost for the spark plug was okay because he was ultimately charging me for my free car rental. On Tuesday his wife called me and told me my car was ready. I asked her how much it would be and she told me $850. I was shocked and she told me that she would have Brent call me. I told Brent I never authorized having all that work done on my car. I told him that in all my years having verbal agreements with Automotive repair shops I have never had a misunderstanding. I feel that I was very clear with him. He raised his voice to me and was clearly not very happy with me accusing him of being unethical. I told him he can either take everything out of my car or I would pay him $500 for the unauthorized work which he agreed to but was not happy about. I just wanted to get my car out of the shop so thats why I paid. I do not recommend using the shop and if you do I would get the work in writing instead of having a verbal agreement with them over the phone.

Diagnostics and repairs were accurate and fast. My car broke down on 400 S at the Dawsonville Outlet Mall and Tower was less than half a mile away. The alternator and water pump were replaced the same day they started work and ended up costing less than they quoted; which was already $100 less than any other shop within 10 miles. Would highly recommend to those who dont know the area and need a place that is trustworthy and honest.

Great guys that do wonderful work! Quick and dedicated to getting your car back on the road as cheap as possible and as fast as possible. We have tried mechanics all over North Georgia and Tower has never let us down or made us regret taking our Hummer there. They wont gouge you for money, will tell you whats wrong and the best way to come about it. Highly recommend these guys!

Fast service and a very nice and clean waiting area with tv and magazines, perfect for if you have to bring your kids with you. Very happy with their service and see them becoming my go to place for all things auto!
